  1. He just stood on his ankle to the point that Rodgers had to push him off. I think he will get suspended for the playoff game.

I think he at least needs to be fined.  The other Packers on the field had a great vantage point to see it.  They got in his face for a reason.  Whether he intentionally landed on that spot or not, he stayed way too long.....

  2. I'm glad we are in the playoffs, however like many others I'm not sure I see anything to be excited about.

Among a lot of questions/concerns I have one thing that's baffling me is why we don't even attempt to run the ball when we are on the 5 yard line or closer to the goal line.

It seems all we ever do is pass the ball. regardless of it working or not I find myself screaming to run it and alas no one can hear me through the tv.. Ha!!

I agree.  I find myself screaming at the TV....THROW THE DANG BALL!!!!

  3. It's not rocket science. It normally takes around five years for a top tier team to build. The Colts have started from scratch. We have 4 players on the roster from the 2-14 season. Two of those players are kickers, one is on IR and the last one is facing off season surgery. Has there been another team who has started with a whole new roster, new head coach, new GM and two OCs and has went 11-5 in three seasons? None that I can think of. Some make all kinds of excuses why but the facts are the Colts have over achieved instead of under achieved. Even the great teams who have great coaches didn't start out that way. The Colts lack veteran leadership and seasoned veterans all over the roster. These teams the Colts cant seen to get wins on are all full of those types of players and coaches. We are still at least one draft and a couple of smart free agents away from reaching the top tier team level.

Building is the key.  And that's what we're doing.  And despite all of the injuries and other challenges; we have had a good year.  I'm excited for Sunday.

  4. Well....that's fair.

This O-line certainly isn't the same...we had Saturday with Tarik Glenn and Jake Scott on the left side.

And although our run defense during the season was pretty bad....Sanders had a clear impact when he returned for what seemed at the time would be an improbable playoff run.

But hey, let's let this thing play out....because when they DO execute for 60 minutes they can beat anyone.

Denver and Philly were very beatable those nights.

Agreed.  We had an upset.  That's why it's called that.  It's upsetting.  But, good grief, don't throw the baby out with the bath water.  We are a building team that needs another year or two.  But, we've had a pretty good year and have proven when we are firing on all cylinders, we are very capable!

  5. The mature perspective ( I've followed the Colts since 1965 ) is that it will take two more successful offseasons to finish building 'the monster'. The 2012 draft was great. The 2013 draft plus THE TRADE not so much ( set the rebuilding program back a year ). 2014's draft at least had quality, but this team still is sub par in the interior O-line, pass rushers, run-stuffing ILB, free safety and depth at cornerback, PLUS both DEs and the ROT are getting old. Top priority: protect Luck. Despite the obvious talent in the receiver corps and starting cornerback, this team elsewhere is still 'Andrew and the averages'.

EXACTLY!  And, that's why they call it an upset.  It's upsetting.  But, good grief.  We've still had a pretty decent year.  Don't throw the baby out with the bath water, people!

  6.  if the best team in the playoffs were the ones that won the superbowl each year, the 1st seed would always win. in 2012 no one believed the ravens could go into denver and beat the broncos or go into foxboro and beat the patriots. they werent even picked to beat the 49ers. the two runs by the giants , again no one picked them to win and they ran table and even beat the pats twice. we werent the hot team either in 2006, but we won. this loss while bitter was exactly the wake up call we needed. the offense needed that butt kicking so they can get out of the slump their in. I promise you no one in that colts complex has got rid of their morale and confidence and we as fans need to stand up and support our team instead of already thinking of the off-season. we're not done

Well said!  Totally agree!  We have a good team that needs to have all the pieces in the right places.  We're not totally there yet.  But, we have beat better teams and I'm hopeful for a win next week.

  7. Worked yesterday and could have left at 3:00 to watch the Colts/Cowboys but being a realist and pragmatic I thought I would go home at half time and I did. It was admittedly worse than I thought it would be. Weak on most every aspect of offense and the defense was drilled full of holes. Why on both? Because that is what the Colts are plain and simple. They are not boring to watch but rather aggravating to watch. You could grab a pen and paper watching their games and make a list of things you would like to see changed. Top priority is the OL and I think we all agree on that. With an OL like every other team the Colts could move the ball and with receivers and a QB like we have it would be a blast to watch. Like the song says, "send in the clowns, well maybe next year".

    Good call on your part!

  8. Man this is going to be an interesting QB class to watch unfold, what with Teddy, Johnny, Blake, and, this is the longshot, Tom :) Of course the receivers are looking solid and will possibly go down in history. Yeah, sucks that Fitz is out but you are right, now it's rookie evaluation time.

That was awful watching him go down.  Made me sick.

  9.  Give it some time, he'll grow on you haha

QwizBoy, I really tried to give him a shot.  But, when I saw his pic today on national television making the money sign?????  Really???  I was glad to see the end result.  I hope he matures with age.  But, if he doesn't eat some humble pie, I think players are going to continue enjoy plowing him over....

  10. Cant disagree.

Mr Magoo didnt refer to what the cartoon guy was..(plus Mr. Magoo wasn't something you would call people.

I did get 'four eyes' a lot..referring to a kid wearing glasses...) ..while midget does refer to a physical and un-changeable body characteristic...

////I'm not arguing for the term midget. I haven't heard anybody call anybody a midget in decades..until this week

I just grew up in the Gidget era (characters like Mr. Magoo and Gidget sure do date us huh? The younger folks here will have to

google them to know what we're talking about) and I thought Gidget (girl-midget) was a term used fondly..it meant cute little teenage girl. But even the term 'cute' has an implied 'smallness'' that some ladies sincerely don't like.

And if you liken 'midget' to 'colored people', a term which at one time was preferred and quite proper and now is simply not proper.

Its the same superficial stereotype. I can see where midget could easily be considered offensive.

In the end..it doesn't matter what I see or don't see. It matters how the person being called that term feels about it.

I try to teach my kids to have thick skin and an ability to laugh at themselves.  My 11 year old from China had a girl tell her last week that she has slanty eyes.  To which she said, "No kidding....hello......I'm chinese."  I asked her if it bothered her and she said of course not.  Then she said, "she's been in my class all year.  Did it really take her that long to figure out I had slanty eyes?"

I celebrate their differences.  I have called all three of them my chinese chickens since day one and one of them kung pao chicken because she likes spicy foods.  They like being different.  I think it's all in how you take it and not worrying too much about what others think....

  11. I just heard Eddie's laugh in my head just now

I saw Eddie Murphy at Market Square Arena back in the 80's for his RAW tour.  I still remember it.  He had a all red leather suit on.  I have never laughed so hard in my life.  I was literally in pain from laughing.

  12. Any label that names people based on one aspect of them.......over time becomes demeaning and offensive.  Case in point the word midget is intended to insult here.

We don't label people this way because it's demeaning.

For example, there is a word for people who have psoriasis........ it's psoriatic.

Would you want to be referred to with that word that referred to one aspect of you..........whether it's cancer or your income or your weight or whatever?

Anyway, speaking as a short person, I have a sense of humor about it because it can be funny.  For example Randy Newman's song "short people"  But that song was really intended to mock people who don't like short people.

Things can be funny..........but they can also be intended as a shot.

I agree Nadine.  We have 3 chinese daughters who get labeled because of their race.  Fortunately, they are able to laugh it off and it doesn't bother them.  But, I'm a big believer on judging people on their actions and attitudes; not their physical appearance.  That being said, I still don't like Johnny.  But, I base that on how he has behaved, not his size.  Our daughters are the shortest in each of their classes.  And, that ain't gonna change!  HA!

  13. I think it would be smart to know what their fans think.  Even though there is a lot of crap and stuff that may not apply; it's still good to know.  We have one of the top rated morning shows in town and he has a feature called Top Tuesday Tweets.  They read all of the top mean tweets from listeners.  This week we had the mayor on and he read his top mean tweets.  It's awesome!  Some of them are unbelievable how mean they are but it's very entertaining and they take it all in stride.  They just have fun with it!

  14. Before he played, Kaepernick didn't carry 1/10th of the hype that Manziel has. Dude has a Snickers commercial. As a backup. Think about that for a sec.

I'm not a big fan of college football so I didn't know much about him coming into the league. I'm already pretty much sick of the guy though. The Browns reek of dysfunction to me from top to bottom, and I don't think Pettine has handled all of this very well.

I agree.  And, I like Milky Ways better anyway.
