  1. You know it's funny how you want label some of the fans as whiners but don't act like some of the Colts fans didn't do the same thing to Manning by throwing Manning under the bus calling the guy a choker , he only worries about stats , can't win the big one . I'm not saying that YOU said it but I've come across some of your fans that's said those very exact things . My point is just because some fans act a certain way doesn't mean it represents the entire fan base . I think majority of your fans are taking it personal because it has something to Manning and his relations with the Indianapolis Colts . This happens WITH every fan base whether you want to admit it or not .

I absolutely believe it happens.  Never said it didn't.  I just don't agree with it.  I think you can be frustrated as a fan or have things about the game that irritate you.  That's true with anything in life.  I personally think sitting in a seat and booing at somebody makes you look like a disrespectful juvenile.  I wouldn't let my kids do that at a game.  And, if they did, I would tell them they are whiner babies and look ridiculous.

  2. Oh come on don't act like Denver fans are the only fans that boo . I can name a bunch of fan bases that boo their teams and I've seen fan bases chant classless and distasteful things to the other team as well . Have you lost respect for NE fans when they mocked the death of Torrey Smith's brother 2 years ago ( and yes that did happen Torrey said it himself ) or when NE crowd chanted "Brady's better " against the Broncos earlier this season ? Are you going to lose respect for SEA fans for throwing stuff at Navarro Bowan after he tore his acl during the Championship game last year? Are you going to lose respect for Jaguar fans now showing up for their team on a consistent basis every Sunday? I can go on and on .... I think you're taking it out of proportion because it has something to do with Manning and let's be clear Manning did not play his best yesterday but he wasn't the reason why Denver lost . Don't bash a whole fan base for something every fan base does .

I'll say it again.......WHINER BABIES!!!!!!!!!!  All of those things you just listed are classless.  Quite frankly, if somebody wants to boo their own team, go ahead.  But, they are the ding dongs that overpaid for a ticket to the game only to act like a bunch of third graders.  To each his own I guess.  But, if that's the way you act to your own team.....says a lot about you, IMO.

  3. What's the big deal if they boo ? It's all they can do to show they disapprove. Are they supposed to cheer nonstop even after a bad play ?

You don't respect their fans ? I doubt they are losing sleep over another fan base not respecting them.

Does booing accomplish anything, probably not, but players get paid a lot of money so if they have to hear some people booing them then I am sure the balance of their bank accounts eases the pain.

Whiner babies.  I'm sure if they're booing their own players they don't care what other people think.  And, yes, the players make a lot of money and can take it.  I just think they sound ridiculous booing the team they paid so much money to go see.  Whiner babies....

  4. As the old saying goes- that's why they play the game. Having a healthy team going into this game no doubt helped. A couple of picks that didn't hurt too much and no fumbles was also key. Luck not being hit was the thing that stood out the most to me.

Offense and defense both stepped up to the plate and played a solid game.  It was if the entire team had huge resolve that we were GOING TO WIN!  Great game.

  5. I agree with you on some things and not others.

What I wonder about is the future of the NFL.  When will the bubble burst?.......When will  popularity decrease because most families cannot afford to take their kids to the game.......

Will the TV money dry up because of the changes in that industry?

    I guess we'll see

It's all changed a lot.  Some for the good........some not.

I agree Nadine. The lack of affordability will catch up to them. And, tv viewing is more fragmented as is all media. It's a great game. But with everything comes change. That's the only certain.

  6. We can see the celebrity NFL diva going back to the 1960's with Namath and his fur coat, and I'm sure well before him. Egos and celebrity have always been a part of this sport, only in the past, money wasn't as big of a factor as it is now.

If you truly love the game, the trick is to turn a blind eye to all the hoopla, grandeur, and hyperbole. Hit the mute button when the ditzy blond in leather pants starts singing the Sunday Night Football intro theme song. Go get a snack or a smoke while Beyonce is diminishing all female singers by doing what female entertainers are expected to do; Strutting around in her underwear and grinding her crotch on my 60 inch TV until I feel some bizarre need to grab a bottle of windex and remove the slime from my screen.  Don't watch 6 hours of random hype soaked pre-game discussion. Do something else.

I agree that money and the influence thereof has become a permeating entity in the NFL now, to a greatly noticeable degree. But the essence of the game is still there. The technology, money and emphasis on a quality product has had some ill effect. But it has also brought the game to a better place if you're willing to see it.

Instant Replay Review. This granted us a great deal of quality assurance. Still some issues (expansion) that needs addressed.

We have truly the best athletes in the world playing the game, literally the best of the best of the best. Not just footballers, but track stars, basketball stars etc.

The excitement over championship games is fun to witness. In 2006, I realize many of them were bandwagon fans whom may have had absolutely no knowledge about football, but it was neat to see damn near every man, woman, and child in this city wearing blue 'n' white. This is all due to the popularity of the sport.

Because of the money involved, there's an urgency and thirst for each team to win the big one. Far more so than in the past.

There's many other positive outcomes from the influence of the sports popularity and the money involved, you just have to want to see it, it's there.

    Namath's fur coat was SWEEEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. And I bet you say that before every game don't you. :D

Right before you put one blue and one white sock on, stand upside down on your head for 5 minutes and drink your beer with your left hand only.....HA!  I have to say, the Colts have a very high winning percentage the days I've worn my colts t-shirt and hat.  I'm not a superfreak about this stuff.  But, I will have them on this Sunday.  Just sayin......

  8. I haven't noticed that trend either.  However, I have noticed that the Colts tend to win when my cat is mad at me.  Therefore, starting Saturday night and continuing into Sunday evening, I plan to torment my cat relentlessly. That should do it.

    HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9.  Didn't we have enough of quarterback vs quarterback? It has never been Manning vs Brady or Luck vs Manning. All the QBs play for a team.

I think it will be awesome watching two great quarterbacks rival.  But, it takes the entire team.  We CAN'T drop the ball and everyone needs to be playing to their full potential to win this game.  Let's do it!

  10. Well I can start by saying that the rules have changed so drastically that it has become a first and foremost a passing league which generates more excitement, more fans which means more money. It also seems the NFL has gone completely Hollywood, its all glitz and glamour now compared to the rough tough grind it out sport it used to be. Now they have locker room talks posted weekly(why are there cameras in the locker room?), and with twitter and facebook everything these athletes and coaches do goes viral and the media then takes it to the next level. Example: The night after the Det/Dal game pictures of Jones JR and the DEAN of officiating were shown partying together. Now take that game for instance and all the recent questionable officiating in the playoffs....its up in the air, all I know is most NFL fans are * about it, and a large portion think Jerry bought that game. In my opinion I think all of this leads to the NFL losing everything it stands for and its becoming more Hollywood than anything and harder and harder to watch. Thoughts?

I posted about this in a different section.  Twitter, facebook, and other social sites have made everything accessible to everyone at any point. Much like this site; bringing together Colts fans from all over the globe.  It's the nature of life anymore.  You can get information anytime anywhere.  Look at NASCAR and their Sprint instant voting they do over every race.  Pretty crazy.  Some of it's good.  I think some of it's over the top.  But, it's the nature of the beast.  And, NFL bypassed NASCAR in sponsorship $$$$ a while back.  So, it's BIG MONEY!  And, when there's that much money on the table, players and owners will capitalize on it.  Still a great game.  But, yes, very Hollywood!
