  1. http://www.stampedeblue.com/2011/10/11/2479677/its-time-to-seriously-talk-regime-change-with-the-indianapolis-colts#storyjump

I like the article, I'm not sure it is 100% accurate.

What I do know is, it's not fair Polian's son is in the Organization, nepotism is a terrible thing, I seriously doubt out of 6.97 billion people in the planet, Bill's son is the best fit for the job, too much of a coincidence, I think that's a sign of Bill having too much control over Irsay's brain, If I was the owner, I'd say: NO, not your kid Bill, that would create a terrible CONFLICT OF INTERESTS...

I like Polian and I think he's done a lot, and I think he deserves to leave whenever Peyton leaves, but he has to leave someday along with all his relatives.

  2. Blount didn't kill us till the second half we were down to one DT. Before that the Colts D was doing a decent job of gang tackling him. I don't care who the MLB is if you are out of DTs your MLB isn't stopping anyone rather it be Angerer or Brackett so the fact that Blount would've killed Brackett isn't saying much because the lack of DTs is what did us in against Blount. That last run came right up the gut and had nothing to do with the MLB it had to do with the lack of DTs.

What killed us in the first half was the dump offs to back over the middle. If Brackett plays up like he normally does in that situation I doubt you see as many of those passes thrown in the first place.

Dude we held them to 7 points in the first half... No one killed us in the first half... He averaged 4 yards a carry inthe first half, that's good IMO, Angerer was good againt the run even without DT's...

  3. The second half was a product of injuries. We were just out of bodies. The end of the first half was a product of Brackett not being there after watching more of the same plays in the second half a little closer. That's where your MLB is supposed to come up and cover the middle. They pointed it out in the second half. For all those that write Brackett off as being not good we sure could have used his pass coverage skills tonight.

People have to stop with this nonsense, seriously, BLOUNT WOULD'VE KILLED BRACKETT... Sure we could've been a ittle, just a little bit better against the pass, but they would've just run over us. I'll take a run stopper, sure tackler like Pat over Gary any day of the weeek...

  4. Blount would've IRed Bracket's butt tonight... Angerer is IMO, a potential star, his istincts are just outstanding, has a knack for the ball, great tackler too, he is one season away from being our best defensive player.

  5. Here's what really matters:

You take Luck and keep Peyton, you lose, you just git better at the bench, you did not get any better on the field.

The only way you draft Luck is if you know Peyton is not gonna be the same, in which case, you let him walk, trade him and get another first round pick in order to get Luck AND another impact player, then you are rebuilding.

If Peyton is coming back, and you are coninced he'll be the same, then you trade that 1st overall pick (I'm sure we'll get it) and reload not rebuild, but reload, so you can give Peyton the talent around him.

Nothing more stupid than sitting Luck YOU JUST GET BETTER ON THE BENCH and lose in the end, 'cause you don't surround your QB with any talent.

  6. This is how I think it will work *ALL ASSUMING WE GET A HIGH DARAFT PICK, MAYBE EVEN THE 1ST*

I think we re-work Freeney's contract, we clear some cap space and re-sign Mathis, I read somewhere that the institution made a commitment to him that they were going to re-sign him, at the end of te year.

We cut Brown, I'd guess that would save some money, we don't need him, we all know that now.

We either re-make Bracket's contract or let him walk, yes he is an important player, yes we just signed him to a 5 year deal, but this is a business, if Angerer is ready to play Mike, and he is better against the run, why would you keep the more expensive guy, all this assuming Angerer has a wonderful year this season. Plus, Angerer will improve his pass coverage skills somewhere along the season.

I actually don't think Diem and Saturday will be gone by club's decision, I think they will get the opportunity to make that decision, Diem is better at Guard, and I think he could help there next year, even for depth and If I am correct, he doesn't even costs us that much money, I believe Jeff will not leave, he will want to play with Peyton one more year.

I think the WR spot will get a lot more attention, I really don't know what will happen, but I'll take a guess, I think Garcon stays, I just don't think he'll get a lot of money via FA, if he demands a lot and someone out there is willing to pay him,he's gone, but I don't see it happening. I think Gonzo is gone, Reggie stays and we go after a WR in the draft. We keep Collie too.

Lacey is gone and we draft a CB especially if that trade with the Browns happens (not very likely IMO)

Either Anderson or Brayton stay, not both, we'll just have to live with that. Sims is probably leaving too BTW.

We will draft a premiere WR or a premiere CB, unless we get two first round picks, we couldget both. We'll look for a Guard, Safety maybe another DT and maybe that QB we all so desperately seem to want.

  7. And what exactly do you think the difference would have been between game planning for Collins and Painter? I can't imagine that the Steelers would have had that different of a plan regardless if Collins or Painter was starting. The plan was pretty clear: blitzing/pressure in passing situations to get to an immobile Collins or an inexperience Painter, coupled with a focus on stopping the run. Painter having an entire week to prepare as the starter would have a much bigger impact on the quality of his play than the opponents gameplan. I'm not some huge Painter fan, but I think the Colts should give him a shot next week and moving forward.

So you're basically saying, it's the same thing, wether Collins or Painter play, they both have the same weakness and teams will just blitz the heck out of them, I'd rather have the experienced guy, honestly Collins has taken us to the red zone too, he's sustained some efficient drives, the famous TD drive on sunday night was two inches away from being a fumble and TD for the steelers had Polamalu gone for Addai instead of the ball...

  8. Painter did more wrong than he did right, however. He got a touchdown in hurry up mode, but failed on the rest of his drives.

The sack fumble had a little to do with Castonzo, and more to do with holding the ball for far too long in the face of a blitz. Garcon was wide open in front of him at the first down marker, but Painter just looked at him, feigned he was going to throw, and then coughed up a touchdown.

The out route was all on Painter. He hopped it 3.5 feet short. It's just laughable that people are saying Pierre should have come back to that. Seeing as how the ball was on it's way when he turned around, the laws of physics pretty much prevent that from ever happening. Oh, and we wouldn't have gotten the first down were it even possible for him to make such an adjustment.

The missed walk-in touchdown was also his fault. He overthrew Garcon by a mile. Excited or not, 31 other back up QB's in this league would have completed that pass.

The last play of the game? Game over or not, that throw was terrible.

Collins lead two scoring drives to Painter's one. 6 points to 7. Curtis gets his negated because he gave 7 points directly to the Steelers.

While Collins wasn't a good answer, Painter isn't any better. We are in the same boat, only drives while end quicker because Painter has a quicker release.

I hope he does well as the season goes on, but most QB's do mature that way. If he gets good enough, we will be able to hold off wasting a high pick on a QB. Or better yet, get a decent pick for him. :-)

You are one of my top three favorite posters, 'cause you actually think before you start writing, not a lot of guys like that here. This is a great post. I think Painter missed on 14 points for us, and gave up 7, that's awful, but yeah, I also agree Collins isn't much better.

  9. I haven't been able tp watch the past two games entirely, I watched parts of them, enough to realize we don't look good, but I haven't been able to make individual evaluations.

My question is How is Drake Nevis doing? And since I cannot start a new topic because of this new rules, I ask it here

  10. It is really sounding like this will be the case. They will dangle the spector of 18's return all year like a carrot to fans, but the reality is they know he probably will not take a snap this year. Nor should he if his career could be placed in jeopardy. This will most likely be a rough season now but "next man up"! Worse case scenario is we get a nice draft pick out of all this for next year.

    Andrew Luck

  11. really? a lord of the rings reference? really?

I know, I know. I just watched the movie last night and it just happened, I swear I'm not a nerd or anything like that. haha

  12. Pat replied to one of my tweets the other day, as you can read below I asked him if a guy could be punter, kicker and kicfoffer (haha)

    Pat McAfee

“@georgepelaez: Is it possible for a guy to be the Punter, Kickoff and FG guy? @PatMcAfeeShow?”~ I will do it at some point

I don't think ne is kidding. I don't know how to post the link...
