  1. He's going to be the back-up to Mathis on the Weak side....

Hughes will back-up Walden on the Strong side...

Hickman, or the new guy we got from Canada (name escapes me) will be the 5th OLB and special teams ace....

And even if Sidbury flames out,  he's $750K....    that pennies you find in the sofa cushions....

Really?   Help me find my 750k in my couch..Ill give you half :)   I dont think he'll flame out you can never have too many pass rushers just hope they can find a way to get him on the field to do what he does.

  2. In light of the recent potential fall-out with a "wopper," of a receiver, I've read some people say they think his twitter postings effected the negotiations.

Irsay is the owner of the Colts, and as such any public action he makes reflects the Colts.

Do you think he hurts the Colts image with his postings, and furthermore do you think it effects how players, agents, and other football personnel interact with the Colts?

Most media outlets "cough" Espn "cough" Bleachers Report "cough"  dont need very much ammo to publicly take demeaning shots at our franchise. Im not sure why they hate or where it comes from..maybe its just because we're a small media market or maybe Indiana is just considered a small hick state that is easy to make fun of..who knows. What I do know is that "Winning" always shut these clowns up!!  With that said some of Mr. Irsay's tweets are incoherent, most do overexagerate a good or average signing as a franchise tag talent. And a big no-no is to talk about a pending deal until it's DONE because if it doesnt work it will blow up in your face. Now you or me making these tweets is no big deal...But sometimes I wish Mr Irsay would remeber that he is the FACE of this franchise and that every statement he makes publicly,  fair or not reflects upon this team. I love Jim and I love the fact he interacts with his fan base, BUT... I do wish he was a little more thoughtful about how some of his statements will reflect the Colts image and integrity when his subjects are team related.. thats all I ask when it comes to his tweets.   OH and please stop the twitter wars!!! please!!  Its sooo beneath you Jim...You own a professional football franchise for christmas sakes!! dont give these *s that no one's ever even heard of before a platform!!  Stay on the high road sir.

  3. I do remeber that being the case last season about Chapman, And I think he'll be something we're not used to seeing in a Colts jersey like beast mode for us this year JMOP.    To me the bigger Question is about Ijalana whats his progress and excpection for Camp. Cuz to me if he's not gonna be ready Our biggest need is still at the Guard/Tackle.

  4. Be ready to be surprised then. ball has so much wear on his tires.... He can't be a feature back at the next level for very long, if at all given his diminutive stature.

True but what some call wear others call production, @ only 22  he's too young to be burnt out. Way too much football ahead of him. Like I said Id love it if he's there.

  5. I would Not be against using Next years 1st or 2nd to get the picks to FIX our Future at the Center & Guard positions.

    Was thinking Warford & Frederick.

With a decent additional pick or two.

Lots of Draft Wishes. Really like Rhodes.

Toler and Davis won`t be healthy every play for 32 games. And I bet they would work him in practice some at FS.

An injury with Bethea or Landry, and I do feel decent about Lefeged, but Rhodes has GOOD ball skills and tackles (at CB) well.

I`d be very interested to see him contribute some at FS if needed.

A DBfield of Toler, Davis, Landry and Rhodes in 2014. I Like the thought of it. :helmet:

Agreeed so many directions to go with that 24th.  To think that our back 4 (Davis/Toler/Landry & Bethea) wont get hurt at some point during the season is just plain fantasy land.. we need X. Rhodes for that reason alone, not to mention Davis is a free agent next year I think do everyting we can to keep him but you never know...But I also like the arguement for Warford. our line IS better but its still not complete. unless Ijalana gets and stays healthy our RG or LG depending on where we play Donald thomas is where teams will attack like cassius vaughn, I think Warford closes that door firmly.  Also I like the thinking behind Bjoern Werner. He's the PASS RUSH equiviant of RJF whereas can play  both 5 techniques but instead of also being able of playing nose like RJF,  Werner can play either 3-4 OLB I mean how valuable is that!? Also Redding getting up there in age.... decisions decisions

  6. The one Free Agent that intrigues me the most is Lawrence Sidbury. To me the guy seems to have a tremendous skill set for rushing the passer, something we sorely need, But has only played in  a 4-3 that I know of,  my question is where to we stick this guy? are we converting him to OLB? or maybe sticking him next to Freeman? does anyone know how we plan to use him?

  7. I vote yes to trading back. Even though There's  a couple of guys i like that will be there at 24, But This draft class is VERY DEEP!! there is  little difference in terms of talent and impact from pick 19 to say... pick 40 to 50. I say instead of one grade A stud lets fill more need with  grade 1a or 2 talent.  I KNOW its easier said than done and we need a willing partner, But what im saying is IF the opportunity is there (Somebodys gonna want one of those QBs..just sell that pick hard to somebody)   But I want a Pass rusher, Guard and depth @ cb & fs/ss

  8. DE is our #1 need...Margus Hunt or Deonte Jones, or if rush linebacker Jarvis Jones or Mingo fall to us that would be good too....Our O-line is much improved already and if Iljilana our 2nd rd pick 2 years ago is finally healthy we could be solid at guard...If we draft o-line is should be 4th round or later as you can still find quality guards and centers then...I actually like r receiving corps especially when you factor in the TE's and we've addressed the interior D-line with Francois and Franklin and we have Chapman and McKinney coming back as well so we will be stronger there than we have ever been...DE #1, R-OLB#2, RB#3, CB#4, C#5...That is the direction we should go...If we can get Matheiu in the 3rd to play nickel corner and safety we have to , but I doubt he'll be there.....

You read my mind on Margus Hunt!!  Every time I watch this guy or see his bio I envision another JJ Watt He's another guy If he's still there especially if we're able to still trade back just a little...we snatch him up.

  9. I like the moves on paper but I want to see what they can do on the field before I grade them.

So true thats why I hate it when it seems that all most people and especially the "so called" experts do is  call out our f/a's as a bunch of overpaid nobodys. Those are BOLD statements without seeing how these guys will or will not flourish in our system, in our coaching,  and our schemes. Girgs didnt just watch a you tube video of these guys and say here's your 16million go play..He's one of the best Pro scouts in the game,  He knows what each of these guys can do and how each of these guys will fit in what we are trying to do.  But here's the kicker if the guy(s) dont work out like we thought, those contracts by design ARE CAP FRIENDLY,  THE HIT IS MINIMAL!! meaning either they play right or they dont get all that money thats flashed on the front page of the next to the guys name thats the dirty little secret that the espns, PFTs  and the hot shot bloggers chose to leave out.

  10. Im happy with Ballard, Brown and Carter. And I think we can win them.  With that said Im excited about Pep's offense which will empoly a power running scheme which is great on so many levels! like clock control for one also Luck is protected doesnt have the ball. The thing is I dont think any of our RB's instill any type of fear in opposing defenses, So I would love to have a Premier back in the backfield that  other teams will need to game plan for..I would not be mad if we used an early pick on Eddie Lacy or Monte Ball...not at all.

  11. So far just for F/A's I give a strong B+   I have to admit i wasnt happy @ first bcuz we didnt get the "Big Names" that I wanted us to get.

But we did Instead was get both Quality and Quantity we got twice as many impact players than I expected because we didnt have to pay the big name price for 4 or 5 players. And we stocked up big time on areas of need, the Heyward-Bey really put the stamp of success on the F/A signings. I cant wait for the draft!!

  12. I say given the job Grigs and staff did for the team last year we give him the benefit of the doubt. I trust his talent as a player scout and believe him got  walden and the others for how they will fit what this team wants to do...And not just for the name. I say give these guys a chance b4 we cast judgement.

  13. Since we seem to be a fan of the one year "show me contracts" I would LOVE to see us sign Branden Moore from the Jets to one of these..with his talent and experence and at the age of 33 a one year contract would be perfect.
