There are plenty of other teams that give him a better shot to get another SB and hopefully another SB ring. Tenn is not one of them. As I said last night, if he goes there, he is repeating what Farve basicially did. He would be just following in Farve's shadow. He will not win a SB with Tenn. I am sorry. I don't see it.
It would be one thing if other teams didn't want him and Tenn was his only option. He has to know, it will upset a lot of fans, he claimed to care about. I do believe he cares.
You are like the guy who dumps his wife for someone he thinks is younger and better then gets all upset over who his ex-wife is dating.

Hey at least we still have the Angerest MLB in the league......
and Jeff Linkenlogs lol.
It doesn't matter who they cut because as long as they keep Linkenbach and Hughes, the Colts will be set for the future
-
Its too bad Freeney won't be worth a 1st. Sadly, a 2nd is probably the best we could get for him.
A 2nd round pick for an aging, undersized, one-dimensional DE coming off his worst season...I don't think so. The Colts are probably holding out for a 4th rounder.
-
I was just thinking about this, do you remember that game against San Diego in 2010 where Linkenbach? was playing right guard and got completely pancaked into Manning after the snap. thats the junk Manning had to deal with. Imagine him playing with the Pats O-line.
Charlie Johnson was PM's Left tackle for the end of his Colts career - seriously, thats the best we could do for him?
Actually, Baray picked up Linkenbach and threw him into Manning for the Sack. I was pretty sure Linkenbach would be gone at the end of that season.
But, that's been the problem with the Colts; Scott-NO......Lilja-NO........Linkenbach-YES

Regardless of what everyone says u make a valid argument, the same "experts" that predicted cam was a bust is predicting Luck is HOF QB right now. Point taken I get it. These people are to blinded by the media(espn) to see that we already have a HOF QB on our team. I heard Rob on first take today say if u pass on Luck and Peyton gets hurt u just ruined the franchise, no we will just trade up next year and get the next QB these "experts" proclaim to be great But since everyone keeps throwing out the best "prospect" since Elway(which he had a horrible rookie season), I figured I'd give u the definition of it, It's the possibility or likelihood of a future event occurring. So I'll put it to u like this let's say u won a million dollars and I say hey u know youll have the best prospect out of everyone if u put in the whole million. R u going to? No!!!!! Face it guys everything is chance hit or miss. But this can't be argued, let's say we trade Peyton(altho if this happens he'll be cut to save 28 mil bonus) and we take luck and the so called "experts" were wrong and he's only a mediocre QB at best, 6-10 7-9 8-8 5-11, we are forced to stick with him for atleast his first contract(4-5yrs) and now we cant suck enough to get another good pick, and well since he's a once in a generation prospect we'll have to wait another 20 years to get another chance at a great "prospect". If we show loyalty to Peyton and he sticks around after he retires has a colt, and becomes the OC/QB coach, were set for, well however Peyton sticks around for. The knowledge he could pass on would make tebow a great QB, ok that may be an overstatement but u get my point. I think everybody agrees he will be a great coach one day(he is now) and if we turn our backs on him, it could cost this org for years and years to come.
Because the greatest players always seem to make the best coaches :hmm:

You are so wrong, look up a trade value chart!!! How many times do I have to tell people to do this?
And I'm tired of linking one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://walterfootbal.../draftchart.php
That chart is helpful if there is only one team that wants to trade but, if there are two or more desperate teams competing (eg. Miami/Cleveland/Washington) then it basically becomes an auction; the highest bidder wins and that chart goes out-the-window.

Yes, i did see him last night....and he had 15 rushing attempts and only 24 complete passes....to me, that IS a running QB...and i dont want to draft a BACK UP QB, i would much rather draft one that will be a future starter...but career back up would be much more likely for RGIII.
As for my "sources" on Baylor using a simplified playbook for him, it is in several of the recent scouting reports on him...graduating early does not make someone above average intelligence...for all you know, he couldve had Crayola 101 for most of his classes....several top level athletes have easy class schedules, in order to keep their GPA high enough as needed.
He was a political science major and graduated with a 3.67 GPA

It could be his last game as a Colt. I hope not, but the business part of the game is pretty cruel.
The business part of the game has made him a multi-millionaire...I wish I knew that type of cruelty :cat:

I don't think I could stomach Peyton leaving. I've been very pro-Luck on here, several times, but for me it's Manning over him every day. I just don't think my heart could take it!
Luck is for the future...Manning is for "now"

I don't see the Colts spending a #2 overall draft pick on a WR unless it's a can't miss Andre/Calvin Johnson-type receiver.
Anything less can wait until later rounds
-
The most lopsided game in the history of the NFL.
The problem wasn't the score as much as it was how the Colts played...they gave-up...they quit.
Now, on Sunday, they will decide to play as if their lives depend on a win.
-
yea. also Brees only passes the balls. I BARELY see him ever run the ball.
I don't remember Marino getting many yards with his legs
-
The only way the Rams beat the 49ers is if the 49ers rest their starters considerably after the Falcons beat the Saints on MNF. That would mean that the 49ers have clinched the bye and a #2 seed in the NFC.
I am sure a lot of us are going to be Falcons fans tonight .
Looks like the Niners will be "all-out" against he Rams next Sunday...crap!!!

I didnt say the position isn't needed, its just not necessary to take one in the first round. I would much prefer a CB, Dline or OG with the first selection. You can get quality wrs later in drafts, especially with Manning at QB. Collie is a 4th, Garcon a 6th and Tamme is a 4th. Blair white was undrafted and Manning made him look like a mid round pick. We should improve a position that Manning cant help improve, such as anything on Defense or Oline.
I'm hoping for a veteran FA OG.
Colts also need an early round safety (IMO)

With the multiple holes this team has had exposed this season, I doubt they get a WR in the first round unless they trade down for a bunch of draft picks...
At least, I hope they don't

Thank you, doogansquest, for the excellent post. I'll never understand the rationale that makes losing beneficial.
YOU MAKE THE CALL: a 3rd win or 3 extra early draft picks (plus maybe a player or 2)
Based on this season and the number of holes that have been exposed on this team, I doubt many are like the guy below
3 and 13

I know a Titans fans who said he's glad the Colts are winning because, " it wouldn't be fare for the Colts to get Luck after having Manning"
-
we did good against the run, let some plays go, but that was good blocking too. Still dont know about the pass defense, these guys may be more comfortable next year and play better coverage
although they if they can stop arian and chris, then they are doing something right, and with better scoring offense then back to old days.
171 yards rushing...5.5 yards/carry
I guess I have a different definition of the phrase "good against the run"
-
Sorry, can't get excited over winning a meaningless game at the end of a horrible season when it means giving up either a future franchise QB or a bunch of early round draft picks.
Go JAGS!!!

First of all, how often did he get hit in a way that you are describing? Yeah, fewer than anyone else in the league.
What will happen to that surgically fused cervical spine? It will hold up better than it did 3 years ago, because that's the neurosurgical consensus. Like a broken bone that heals stronger following a callous of the osseous tissue, the same effect applies here. Manning will have a stronger spine than before, and will now be playing without pain.
Learn something about the surgery before you make such ridiculous comments. There isn't one iota of proof to suggest that Manning will some how end up weaker than before. All of the evidence points to exactly the opposite effect.
Fusion of 2 vertebral bodies does not make the spine stronger.
Unfortunately, most who have this procedure (especially patients who have been dealing with pain and weakness for an extended period of time), continue to have to deal with pain and weakness but hopefully, the pain becomes more bearable and the weakness stops progressing and shows improvement.
Peyton will probably be back next year and play as well as before but, he will still have issues with arm pain and weakness and therefore, statements like “stronger than before” and “pain free” are probably being a little too optimistic

Despite how pitifully awful the Colts have been playing, it's just now setting in that the Colts may actually go 0-16.
I remember thinking during the Lions 0-16 season, "I would hate to be that team"
I would hate to be that team......

i agree our o-line and dts are very bad, we cant win until we get some talent at those spots
The one time the DT's got a little bit of a push up the middle, Flacco threw an interception :hmm:
-
Orlovsky not only missed most of this throws..he got beaten like a dusty rug...
.....Again..we start the game with 3 passes and then we're behind...10....
///We've got to run the ball...so we arent down 2 scores in the 1st Q
Run the ball where?? The Ravens D-line totally dominated the Colts O-line and RB's were getting gang-tackled in the backfield.
You can't "run the ball" when you can't run the ball.
-
This game, once again, proved that football is, and will always be, won at the LOS. The team that owned it, won. Nothing more, nothing less. The fad, gimmick, run-and-hide defense was owned and the o-line was over run, run by, and run through.
If only we had the greatest QB of all time to cover the stink. Peyton brand air-freshener.
Exactly,
The Ravens D-line beat up the Colts O-line
The Ravens O-line beat up the Colts D-line
Not much more needs to be said :sadno:
