Sorry, don't agree. There's always a time to move on and IMO, its time. Re-signing a kicker over 40 yrs. old who has been shaky over the last few yrs. is not a smart move from a business standpoint. Not smart at all!

Last year was arguably his best year as a pro.
If you have a player playing at an elite level and wants to continue playing, you don't let him walk away. You just don't.

No, what's stupid is letting someone walk who is still contributing at an elite level, no matter the age.
He should be re-signed.

Also, Mathis was only 7.5 votes behind Kuechly. He got as many votes as Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman combined. It's not like he was treated like dirt.

Not really. Robert Quinn was robbed. I never thought Mathis would win. He's a legitimate candidate, but I don't think he was the best defensive player in the league.
To be honest, it's more of an issue that JJ Watt wasn't a finalist.

Mathis had more tackles, sacks, and forced fumbles.
