Why would they get rid of Richardson? He is still on his rookie contract, especially if we need a body for Brown's potential absence. Hopefully Ballard can be healthy...that is our only concern with Vick right now.
-
Congrats to Peyton. He is the best.
-
Donald gets tired?
-
Landry is still a bada$$, but remember this.....?
I like his total disbelief look at the end lol.
Point of contact to end of play~1 yard.
-
what? Nonsense
Its like trying to compare Adrian Peterson and Donald Brown, except in this case the action considered is entertaining people. I can only assume using that analogy that Gandalf thinks Craig Ferguson is much more entertaining than Jimmy Fallon. However entertainment value is very subjective. Further, Jimmy and Craig don't have to compete with each other since there is such a thing as Tivo or the internet to catch highlights or old episodes.

Southwest1 declares unfunny. Nothing to see here. Carry on folks.
It was silly. It was fun. -
So the author of that article calls Mathis the "Unofficial midseason MVP", but then links to an article where Mathis isn't mentioned once...not even for defensive player of the year.
That seems like a bit of a joke to me. -
Its not a RB exclusive sentiment, its a mathematical common usage. When creating an average, discounting an extreme outlier gives a better picture of the true mean.
So in this case, the extreme outlier would be the one big run. If you discount it from the YPC (an average), but mention it happened and you discounted it, it gives the reader a better idea of the standard production, and why the YPC including the one breakout run may be misleading as to the actual standard production per handoff.
Sure it may be common practice to take out the high and low outliers. It just so happens that you (as in, you all) can't take out any short or negative outliers, because they aren't 'extreme' enough. By doing this, you skew the results against whatever running back is being discussed.

This thread...brought you by people that need to be right.

All of what was said in this thread is reasonable. However, today was perhaps his strongest showing as a runner. I think he broke more tackles today than he has all season.
-
The corners were passable. Overall it was the middle of the field that hurt us time and again. They would find a good match up against one of our linebackers and exploit it.
-
Apparently he visited the hospital where my friend works. She said it was, "surprisingly patchy."
-
Is it a league wide initiative for the refs to let the corners/receivers be more physical? After the Colts game I watched the finale of the Texans/Titans game and there were repeated no-calls by the referees there too.
-
Unfortunately this happened at one point:
I don't know what's wrong with Landry getting a tackle.
;)

Claiborne said he just answered anything because he felt the test was pointless. That's probably what a lot of players are doing now a days
Using Claiborne's reasoning, wouldn't players slack off when running the 40, measuring vertical, the shuttle drill, etc? They all don't really correlate well with football skill and how well you will perform.

People seem to have overreacted pretty hard.
-
Don't worry. I'd be excited with the Landry signing too. Merger incoming.
-
I don't know about rigged, but I would say that the game was very poorly officiated. They barely had control of the players in the first half. (A Raven player did shove a ref and there was no flag/ejection). Holding no-calls, PI no-calls, for both sides, along with the outage gave me a bad taste in my mouth afterwards.

16% then made up for them. It happens. Rookie Drops, I personally don't care for any stats at all. I care about Wins. These stats may be meaningful to some people on here, but not me.
Then clearly Winston Justice and Cassius Vaughn have a place on the team!!!
I agree with you in general though: dropped balls is a fairly awkward and subjective statistic.

It must be fun dominating 3rd rate OLs in Canada
...just like how Freeman dominated third rate running backs and tight ends?

Today my big TV broke. Bad. Blew a bunch of capacitors on the main board.
But don't worry, it's happened before. Feb 3, 2007. The day before SB XLI. Which we won.
And this shall be a sign unto you.
Too early sir...too early.

I can see this devolving so quickly...
-
I have always preferred RBs in the return game over scrawny little WRs. Bigger & Stronger to me seems like an obvious answer.
Because he broke so many tackles on THE return...jk
In general I'd have to agree with you.

This is something we've been calling for a while now. Balance!!!
Ballard has been a beast these last few games. It really is a shame we haven't a back with such good numbers in the past few years. *
Fleener or Allen?

Why not both? We'd have the talent, and especially if Allen's blocking is up to potential, we could actually use 2 TE sets and make them work.
