Wow. throwing Welker under the bus. You wouldn't have made it to the SB without Welker.
Or maybe if the pass had been a little better...
It's the chicken and egg dilemma. Welker was nothing before going to the Patriots. It wasn't a perfect pass but one that should have been caught. Hernandez and Slater also dropped passes late that would have gone a long way towards putting the game away.

We were a contender almost every year Peyton was here. I'm not sure what you are referring to
Were is the correct word. We were a 10 win team...one and done once again in his last season and weren't going to win 10 the following season even if he did play. We were old and no longer contenders. The Patriots still had a great veteran D the year Brady went down but the O had no edge to them at all. Give BB credit. He changed things up an got the most out of what he had.

By the same logic, Brady isn't that great because his backup took the team to 11-5. If anything, Brady is worse because Rodgers' backup had just one good game whereas Brady's backup had an entire good season. Peyton would also be the best ever because with him, the Colts were Super Bowl contenders. Without him, they are the worst team in the league
Actually our Colts were no longer SB contenders even with Peyton. Cassell is no Brady and it's foolish to even make the suggestion.

I never liked him. I felt he was self centered cry baby.

It's well-known in the rich history of the NFL... the Tuck Rule was karma for Jack Tatum's blatant cheap shot that paralyzed Darryl Stingley years earlier.

Oh and by the way, Bleacher Report = Novice Biased Fan Blog Central. I thought everyone knew that.
No need for anyone to feel bad for Oakland. This one is remembered as one of the worst calls in NFL history. NE had the best team in the league and this call kept them from a SB IMO. The Tuck was fitting for NE and their fans.

Neither team is heading to the playoffs. It'll be a nice warm welcome for Peyton at LOS in two years but it'll be hard for the NFL to hype two mediocre teams.
-
If our QB plays like Brady he could do the craziest things imaginable with his hair and I'd be very happy.
-
I'd say Peytyon and the Bronco's. They were lucky, lucky, lucky to win 8 games last season so 8 wins this year will be a complete failure in most peoples minds (not mine). They won't be patient in Denver because they don't have time to be. It will get ugly quick.
The Eagles? That ship sailed long ago IMO.

It looks pretty good to me.

I don't mean to speak for anyone else, but I don't think that's what subvet said.
Besides, you're commenting on my post about the Pats schedule in 2007 and 2008, as if my thoughts there mean I don't think That said, for every Colts fan saying Brady isn't great, there's probably three Pats fans saying Manning isn't great.

Anyone saying either loses all credibility as far as I'm concerned.

Who said that Brady isn't a great quarterback?
Subvet for starters.
-
It was absolutely a really good team. But they didn't have this great difficult schedule. Their division was a cupcake, and in 2008, it was significantly better. That's almost half their schedule. And while the 2008 team only beat one playoff team, almost every game they lost was against a playoff team.
The following year Brady brought them to 10 wins against a good schedule and let’s not forget they completely disbanded a really good veteran defense. I'm embarrassed when my fellow Colts fans say that Brady isn't a great QB. We look like dummies.

Sorry about that
You're proving the writers points.

All phases of offense, defense, special teams, coaching and the front office.
-
Yes to both and the Indainapolis Colts Grill is much better IMO.
-
The Patriots finished 11-5 so they lost 5 more games than the previous season and were the first team in playoff history to miss the playoffs with that record. No hate, Tom Brady is replaceable and the wins keep coming, not so with Peyton Manning.
-
Brady (solid year after year)
Rivers (I see a monster year after last years disappointing season)
Shaub (if healthy)
Big Ben (the guys a gamer)
Peyton (Normally 1 or 2 and is getting 5 only because of his past status. I hope he can regain a top spot.)
Luck? Top 5 as a rookie? Not likely.
-
I don't know about that, I'm thinking it's more of Belichick picking a great team. After all the Pats did just fine without Tom a few years back so put him on pretty much any other team he wouldn't have done nearly as well.
Injured Brady - The Patriots lost seven more games than the previous season and missed the playoffs instead of going to a SB.
Injured Manning - The Colts lost eight more games than the previous season and missed the playoffs instead of another one and done.
Hate on the Patriots and Brady but they are a better organization top to bottom.

I will also pen my final picks on week one but in the AFC the Patriots look to have improved on both sides so it's going to be tough to go against them.
I like SF in the NFC at this point.
