  1. If the offense doesn't substitute, but the D does, the O can 'quick snap' and draw a penalty.  It is one of the benefits of a hurry up (cause mismatches and/or tire the D) so they want to sub, but can't because the O hasn't.If the D does sub, the O sees it and makes them 'pay'.  Legal and totally different from this scenario. This one allows the O to sub, but confuses the D into not knowing if/who to sub.  And who to cover once the ball is placed into position.

So in the spirit of the rules. Gotcha.

  2. Brady didn't make contact more than possibly a brushing up against him... to suggest that Tom Brady should have been ejected from the 1st quarter of an intense, highly emotional playoff game is just simply laughable...

    Man, talk about sour grapes..

I tip my hat to the Ravens and to you The Old Crow..  that was a heavy weight fight with haymakers back and forth all game long and went right down to the very end..  unbelievable game, both teams punched each other in the mouth repeatedly and unfortunately in games like that only 1 team can be the victor and move on.  Its a game that will be remembered and talked about for years to come and I feel fortunate that we were able to witness it and obviously am grateful that the Pats snuck out a win against a very, very determined Ravens team.

That Joe Flacco is a totally different animal in the playoffs too... impressive game by him

Sounds like jvan and some of the other cats are afraid of the Colts playing the Patriots

  3. I'm so confused. What's your point?

Did you read half of what I actually wrote complimenting the Pats on their success, or did you just white knight into this thread and quote me without any context?

Because it sure looks like the latter.

Go back. Read all my posts in this thread. And then decide if you want to continue on this bizarre train of quoting me.

I get on edge before the big game sometimes also.

  4. Just funny to me how sometimes players can be aggressive with refs, but Walden got ejected for taking a refs hand off of him.

Don't be so sensitive this morning.

Life is good and I'll be rooting for the Colts today. I seriously can't understand anyone having a problem with Brady on that play. I know he's held to the highest standards but...

  5. We had our chances, I'm not going to complain about the wrinkle . We have to obviously work on the back end of our defense. It's hard to lose two 14 point leads, but this secondary managed to do it. Draft pick safeties Elam and Brooks look like busts, and they'd better sign and draft many CB's. I told you guys it wouldn't be 41-7, but I was even surprised we did so well. It was an honest effort for the team we had. Joe went right after Revis and Browner and did well. That surprised me. Tom exploiting our secondary didn't surprise me, but I give him full credit for doing it .

The Ravens can hold their heads high and their fans should be proud.

  6. The midwest tolerates. I remember a Jets fan walking into a sports bar before the 2009 AFCCG and expecting a lot of trash talking. When he didn't get much, he asked about it and was told, we don't talk much, we just show it on the field.

That is just how we roll. By no means are we saints and not have an iota of fanatic in us but most of us here know what a measured response should be, for the most part :).

I've always admired Midwest sensibility.  I traveled a LOT when I was younger and unsettled and always was very interested by the attitudes of the different regions. I'm a native S. Co. guy and you can have 25 best friends after being in town for a week but only 1 or 2 are worth a dam. In New England it's harder to get to know people but they make great friends once you connect. I absolutely loved the Midwest women back in the day and found them to be the most fun, laid back and pretty of anywhere in the country.
