  1. I am so proud to be a Colts fan because of the people that represent this team. Reggie is/was/and will always be a class act. Heartbroken that he wont be part of our next ring, Only other player I ever shed a tear when they left was Peyton. Great players, but above all, great men and role models.

It's not "thank us" it is than you Reggie, I will never forget that TD in SB after Hester returned that kick for a TD. Set the tone and was always there in the biggest games. Took this team on his back in Andrew's first year, we wouldnt be where we are right now without him.

It almost feels wrong to not bring him back for 1 more shot if he feels he has it in him, after staying here 3 years ago when no one thought he would. My 87 jersey will always have a place in my home.

Thank you Reggie, you will be truly missed.

  2. That's what a good defense will do for you. New england is winning most of their games in spite of their offense.

Yeah good D, but there were a couple games like the NO game that was on Brady elevating and undrafted rookie to hero status.

  3. Peyton would have to do something dramatic in the 2nd half to not win the MVP, though I think Brady being 6-2 with that team is more impressive. Stats don't always equate to "MVP", that's what offensive POY is for. What they are doing in New England is shocking with that roster.

  4. 14 years, comeback after comeback. The Tampa Monday night game, against NE in the playoffs... A HoF coach going for it 4th and 2 in their own end because he knows his defense can't stop you in a 2 minute drill.

Luck is great, and I love having him but let's get serious guys he's got a bit of a ways to go before he is elevated to that kind of status. 2nd year players cannot be in the same category as HoF players like Peyton, Brady, Brees etc. He will get there in time and I will enjoy watching every moment of it, but he is not there yet.

  5. My eyes welled up pretty good when he took his helmet off, but overall I hated it and wished we never played him. I miss Peyton and wish he would have been a Colt for life. Seeing him play every week for another team wasn't bothering me until last week when it was against us. That's when it really set in for me.

Don't get me wrong I am a super Luck fan, love this kid and can't wait to watch him every week. But Peyton will always have his place, and just because I'm happy with Andrew doesn't make the face of this franchise playing for another team any more comfortable for me, and by the sounds of it for him either.

  6. WR is not a position you can add mid year and expect results. Any new WR would be well behind anyone on this roster, losing Reggie sucks but it's next man up and I think we will be okay. The defense has been good and will have to stay good and even be better for this team to contend, and a new WR won't change that.

  7. do you really think that GM's simply look at a punter's stats before deciding how much to pay?  You don't think they look at game film and each individual punt to make sure they have an accurate assessment of how the punter played?

    Like dustin said,

so if a punter were to do this all year long, then his average for the year would be 35 yards which is not very good, but I can almost guarantee you that punter would be in the pro bowl.  If there is one punter stat that means more than most it would be the number of punts downed inside the 20.  However even that stat can be misleading if the punter puts the ball inside the 5 yard line but the coverage team can't make a play to keep the ball out of the end zone.

No, I don't think they go off of the stats alone, but they are factored for sure along with game tape. Ive watched every game and it does not take a punting genius to see that this is not his best season. We have not been punting from the 40 every punt as you can see,

I'm not saying hes a bad punter, just saying hes not playing as well as he could and that punt in the 4th qtr. really hurt. Obviously 6 games doesnt make a season and I'm sure he will be fine.

  8. no he's not. Punting numbers are useless to evaluate punters. Our coverage is awful.

The stats may not be perfect, but these are the same stats these guys use to get paid so they must have some relevance. He has had only 4 punts returned for a total of 43 yards. Cant blame the other 17 on the coverage.

  9. McAfee isn't having a poor year.

He's having a bad year, he is near bottom in every stat among punters his 38.5 net avg. is terrible. He has to improve dramatically , that 4th qtr punt was awful in a clutch situation and it cost us a FG when we could least afford it. I know hes a popular player but be real, hes having a bad year.

  10. Davis and Howell got beat by him on the td. More on Howeel though, but still

No one can know for sure the assignments but the coaches and players, But that looked all on Howell, he should have been over the top but he broke on (I think it was Gates) running an out, and hung Vontae out to dry.

  11. I know hes the owner and everything, but maybe he shouldn't be throwing out quotes that could be interpreted as "Peyton cant win championships" or "Tom Brady is better". I mean I have moved on and LOVE Andrew Luck, but I will love Peyton forever and I've seen him motivated and angry and the last thing we need is an angry motivated Peyton Manning....

  12. People come here cause they love this team, and most of us are pretty reasonable most of the time. What are we supposed to do? Not acknowledge errors or act like everything is always perfect? It is not reasonable to come here and demand 10 peoples heads per loss or say we suck, we are 4-2 and one loss isn't the end of the world, I know that and all of you know that too. And people who over react I'm sure a day down the road regret most of the ranting.

But sometimes there are glaring problems that frustrate the heck out of people, it's part of loving a team. People need to vent on some of these issues and being a public forum where better to do it :)

  13. I don't like the play calling, not just Monday but in a lot of the games we won. I don't understand how people can defend this OC. It is one thing to commit to running, but run out of different sets. The whole power formation they run is a disaster, it is never effective and we average less than 3 yards a carry in it (I'm guessing, no accurate numbers). And then Richardson gets the blame for low YPC, but we set him up to fail. We don't have a line that is built to run down your throat when they know its coming.

This team can commit to the run all they want, I'm all for it because you need to run to win championships. But for gods sake do it from your position of power, Misdirection and stretches suit this team so much better. These are the sets that D Brown runs from, and the D doesnt see it coming is why it is effective. Or maybe I'm wrong and Donald Brown is a 7.8 YPC back, but I highly doubt it.

This power formation is handcuffing the offense, the D's know whats coming and they sell out on it. FB is a dead position in the NFL for a reason, you put more skill on the field and make them pull guys out of the box. I like Havili but he should be short yardage or goal line only. Spread out the D and please use some more PA. Richardson would be so much better in these situations I bet anything!

  14. Hey not to hijack your thread...but I remember this video somebody made right after last season ended.  They used the same song, and I wonder if ESPN stole the idea.  It's an amazing video, check it out.

Okay that video just pumps me right up, now I have to wait til Monday :(

  15. I'm guessing the interviews went something like this,

"Pretty much what they do is give the ball to the best young QB in the league, and let him work his magic. The defense is fast hits hard and gets where your going faster than you can usualy, Oh and you may wanna cover that #87 guy he likes to throw to him. I didn't pick up too much of the playbook which is why I'm available to be signed this week."

  16. he actually rushed the passer today...the only downside is i saw him 'overrush' leaving a wide space that wilson took advatange...

but mathis had the same issue.

This is what drove me nuts with Freeney and Mathis, both guys over rushing and team running right where they should have been. Though I love both of them still, used to make me pull my hair out lol.
