  1. I watched him in his preseason games and its like, it doesn't matter how well he is positioned, it like he is always 1 cm from deflecting or one fingertip from making a play. The QBs are picking on him, but they shouldn't, but they are, and its like they are putting in in the perfect spot for the wr he is covering. Anybody agree.

Even tough yards are racking up on the dude. I still can't really say is because of bad play on his part. I don't know how you can cover too much better than he does, on all the big plays that are made on him. Tough start for a rookie.

  2. I don't see what's so special about either corner either. I agree with a lot of your analysis, so I'm wondering how he got a 82/100. He's more like a 74/100. They are average at everthing, so that would have them project to 2nd or 3rd rounders.

I'ts also more difficult to scout these db on these top 15 ranked, defense heavy ranked teams. They really don't get targeted much. Sidney go targeted a lot so you get a lot examples of how he can interfere with a pass or make a play.

These CB may have entered into a comfort zone because of he overall help on he defense. Kind of like Morris Cliaborne. Those type of corners seemed to get shell shocked a lot when they get to the pros.

  3. Okay, So Cornerback Scouting is my specialty.

Okay, The Washington game was his worst game, and he still did pretty darn good.

Adoree Jackson, Let go through the long string of positives.

    Extremely Fluid Hips

NFL caliber field awareness (in that he always knows what is going on, on the entire field. Maybe because he plays so much offense)

    Strong jam at the line.

Great anticipation of the WR routes (this is something that simply cannot be coached)

Can play Both Zone and Man Coverage extremely well.

Competes and fights for the any ball near him.

Rarely gets any penalties called against him for interference.

Can become a shield against the pass on streaks without drawing a penalty.

Strong STRONG tackler for his size and weight.

Discourages his opponents with his motor that never slows down from the 1st to 4th quarter, no matter what the score is.

Uses great vision when running the ball on offense to find holes and gaps and exploits them with confidence.

Obviously a great return man, despite his slightly above average speed.

Gets involved in ALL TACKLES, despite how many players are involved.

Great pre snap awareness, lining up and positioning himself correctly most of the time, in anticipation of the route.

Shows the hands of a WR when picking of the ball

    I can keep going.

    His weaknesses

Does not break in front of the ball on hitch routes (Tom Bradies favorite plays) but this may because he is not a risk taker

Doesn't have a great Vertical when fighting from balls, but is in great position and usually effects the play and causes at least an interception.

His wide range of positioning may be  hinderence, if he were to say, be told to play man every down in the NFL. He seems to be very comfortable moving around like a safety. But that is up to the coaches to work with.

The only reason I can see that he is not a first rounder, is because he moves around the field a lot. Kinda like those FS that line up in the front seven a lot, and maybe that makes teams nervous, but the shouldn't be. He is definitely worth #15, and is we can trade down, we should, but I would risk it with the FA moves we have made so far.

  4. Dude, You guys really need to Watch Adoree Jacksons games.

This dude is a Certified First Rounder. I don't know why he's not the no. 2 corner.

I watched Sidney's games and he is great, but everything he can do, Adoree can do, and everything he Doesn't do (Tackle) Jackson can do. I watched 6 games and saw this guy hawk 4 dudes on busted defensive plays and stop em before the touchdown. He is a fearless tackler and has EXTREMELY GOOD field awareness.

His hips are very fluid. His only real flaw is he doesn't react to curls and hitches very well, but he makes the tackles and doesn't allow extra yards.

Lattimore on the on the other hand. I saw 2 of his games and he looks not as good so far.

I only Saw Adoree make 2 mistakes in 4 games and one was because he got his foot stuck in the turf and got burned on a streak, and the safety also bit on a phantom hitch route and super fast ross got a touchdown.

But as fast as Ross was, he couldn't beat Jackson one on one in any play.

    Just watch this game.

How this guys isn't the consensus no 1 corner, I don't know.

    http://draftbreakdown.com/video/adoree-jackson-vs-notre-dame-2016-2/

  5. Okay. So, This guy is hard to scout, because his biggest problem is that he is 1 dimensional. His 2nd biggest problem is he has low field awareness. And his only other problem, is he has very little initiative to get involved in the run. And that's it.

I was ready to call this dude terrible after watching the Texas Tech Game http://draftbreakdown.com/video/jordan-willis-vs-texas-tech-2016/

I was thinking, how is it that this guy runs a 4.5. He looked slow off the snap and again all I really saw were his negatives.

Then I watched the Stanford Game http://draftbreakdown.com/video/jordan-willis-vs-stanford-2016/

And this was also, not a very good game. He did get a strip fumble, but the Stanford O-line is always a1, and they run sometimes 6 oline manned, or 5 o-line and a TE power formations, and smash it up the gut. I noticed a lot of the same maneuver, which is basically his only maneuver, dip and prey, or dip and run, because he rarely rips, in which case he is very similar to Burnett....but obviously way faster, and just as strong.

But then I watched the WVU game above. A team nobody can get pressure on because of their style of offense, and he wrecked that game. And one thing I noticed, he tried some different styles of rushing. He bull rushed a lot more, and 1 HUGE thing I noticed, is that this guys is EXTRMELY effective on a stunt play. He just runs straight in.

I watched a few more games, and I wasn't impressed with the difficulty he had locating the ball carrier running his way, but I have to give it to him. He can get to the QB.

His 2nd biggest negative (field awareness) is helped a lot by his tackling. He gets a 9/10 in tackling form. I was very impressed at the entire team for that matter. K-State definitely knows how to wrap up and deliver power in their tackles (Who is their coach?)

In all, I think he can be most effective on a creative defensive scheme, like the Seahawks, and hopefully ours. He has what seems like a very stiff body and it's going to be hard to coach him better rush techniques, so stand this guy up in a 3-4 and let him pick a gap to rush and he is going to give people headaches.

Put him at DE in a 4-3 scheme and he be serviceable, but easily blocked by most NFL caliber tackles.

If that write up confused you, is because he hard to understand how somebody so one dimensional and so stiff can be such a good pass rusher, after the combine, I guess it chopped up to size and physical ability.

Jacksonville has more cap space even after all their signings.

Damn. Well, we have Luck on our side. Jacksonville is a cursed team. I think the entire NFL has spies and know exactly what he is being offered lol.

But hey, we can get Jonathan Hankins. If we can get one of these two and get demarcus walker in the draft 2nd round...OMG. I'd be surprised if we have more than 4 100 yard rushers next year.

His 40 was bad, but he ran a strong 3 cone time. Bosa's combine resembles Barnett's much more than it does than Harris'.

I think most NFL teams have learned to disregard NFL combine about 3-4 ago.

    Suggs ran a 4.8

    Anquan Boldin Ran a 4.8

    Richard Sherman ran a 4.6

Marcus allen probably ran a 4.7 and so did Jerry Rice.

Meanwhile, Clowney is a giant and ran a low 4.53 and hasn't gotten 10 sacks yet.

Many of the Shutdown corners are 4.5 guys. The combine should just be a measure to make sure they players didn't get all fat and out of shape after the college season ended.

When I evaluated him I didn't see any reason to worry about his strength or his tackling ability/effort. I don't expect CBs to be run stuffers...

Well, its not run stuffing, it a complete avoidance of the runner.

I saw him hit a guy on a busted flea flicker pretty square and knocked the ball loose.

But I saw about 5 times when there was a good chance the runner could break free or avoid a tackle by his teammate, he would literally stop and just look. LITERALLY. You can't do that in the NFL.

The same things were said about Kevin Johnson and he's performing well for the Texans.

You admit that he can jam receivers and mirror them. What more do you want out of a press man corner?

All the things he does, plus getting involved on tackles.

Look like a guy you don't have to worry about getting burnt....BUT, getting overpowered, that may be his weakness.

Its rare to have a player good at everything. That's what he isn't good at. HE has that Dion Sanders Syndrome, where he don't wanna get hurt so hes not tackling that RB if he doesn't have to.

  10. Meh. I just watch a few tapes of this kid. HE IS SOFT AS TOILET PAPER.

He never want to get an any tackles. Does a good job jamming, but he looks pretty weak there to. Obviously he has the skills to mirror his guys, but he might be bullied big time by heftier recievers.

I wouldn't put him on my the opposing no 1 receiver till he hits the weight rooms and gets the cobwebs shook out.

But his coverage is pretty tight.

  11. He was my first guy I scouted. He looked liked he could be faster than freeney . So I am extremely surprised at that 40 time.

People should also consider he played AT MISSOURI in the SEC against teams like LSU AND ALABAMA AND CLEMSON and still put up 9 Sacks.

His spin move is all his rush moves are the best in the draft. Except Demarcus Walker who has the best swim move.

  12. I'm not making a big deal out of it. I'm issuing a warning.

    WARNING WARNING.

THERE ARE MEDIA FOLKS WHO WOULD LOVE TO HEAR HIM REPEAT THE RACE CARD.

Smart people don't listen to warnings tough.

Is he smart enough to play is off. Somebody already tried to trap him, first day of the combine.

People. Listen, This dude was not just good, he was historically good. He ran a good 40, he is multi dimensional, he put up ungodly numbers in receiving, rushing and Punt Return.

He came to the combine and did not just good, but EXCELLENT in all his drills.

I didn't agree with him when he said it the first time, but now I'm starting to get it.

The only person I can compare that did (no where near as) but some what near what he did was he Black Mamba out of Oregon from Crenshaw High School. BUt he was always injured, played like 9 positions, and played in a spread offense.

And I got a guy, who CLAIMS, to be part of the media for 20 years, and is fresh of Seeing what the Media did to Tim Tebow, Terrel Owens, and even last year with Colin Kap, and is gonna sit here and tell me the media doesn't report on bullcrap....LIKE I'M STUPID.

    I'M NOT STUPID BRO.

AND SOME GUY ABOVE ME JUST SAID PEOPLE THINK RICHARD SHERMAN, WHO RAN LIKE A 4.69 40 WOULD BEAT MAC IN A FOOT RACE.

Somebody already said, "nfl knows that white rb don't work out"

How much evidence do you need to understand that it is YOU who Doesn't understand.

Somewhere there is a little troll, who gonna get asking this guys if he feels "Disrespected" and one day he gonna ask about the Race Card...and Mac's only escape is if he continues to ignore or brush of the question.

If he can do that for like a year, he is good. If he messes up and indulges on of them, then say hello to an army of reporters everywhere you go.

Thats funny - I'm 180 degrees from you.

We knew Takk had speed.  But he literally failed to follow instructions and didn't perform three of the drills correctly today.  I saw maybe 5 total mistakes today from all participants.  And three were by Takk.  That makes me really worry about his ability to be coached, attention to detail, whatever you want to call it.  And he's as raw technique-wise as they come.  And that doesn't get into his shoulder.   I came away the exact opposite as you - pre-combine I was a huge Takk guy.  Today, I wouldn't draft him at 15.

That's not surprising. He is more like a freeney or mathis. He just goes. You don't need to be smart. They just need to let him know, when he got to slow down and set the edge and he will be fine.

His playmaking ability trumps all that at his position.

What? He did 24 reps at 238 and has room to get bigger without sacrificing athleticism. Get him to 240ish, with his skills, he'll be an excellent blitzing LB as well as a guy who can pick up RB's and TE's. I would not be mad at all to get him in the bottom of the first and Jarrad Davis in the second. Gives us two rangy, athletic ILB's for the next 5 years+. Pound cake and Morrison as backups I could live with.

Imma try to find some more vids, but those 24 reps don't help him shed blockers.

those are my ONLY 2 probs with him. He gets swallowed up a lot, and he misses a lot of tackles. Not something you want from an ILB. He is good, but he is risky.

He definitely looks like he can play man coverage tough...but i'd hate to have a guy like this with great cover skills, being yet another reason, teams are putting up 150 yards rushing. That's my dilemma with him.

  15. If we don't get him, I would not be bummed. His tackling is bad, and I can't comment on his angles or anything.

He definitely is a good talent, but going from corner, to de to OLB and the the NFL straight to MLB, man, that in itself is kind of a risk.

I think Tackling is the easiest thing to coach so it not like he wont work out. I'd just rather have a guy at our spot, that you don't have to worry about that kind of thing.

Not sure.  I appreciate your analyses but I have a question.

What are you basing them on?  Multiple game film, actually seeing them play, other reports, etc?

This guy would be a great 2nd round pick.

Im basing this off his game film and his productivity. he and Edjuan Price were the two most productive in the draft followed by Barnett.

Even though his straight line speed is slow..he's getting into the backfield like Jonathan Allen.

He just swims and Moves and cuts through guys like butter when he makes plays.

  17. this is my rank so far

    1. Tim Williams

    2. Takarist McKinley

    3. Demarcus Walker

    4. Charles Harris

    5. Ryan Anderson

    6. Hassan Reddick

    7. Edjuan Price

    8. Derrick Barnett

    9. Taco Charlton

Its' not like everyone else, and it's no point mentioning Myles at our spot.

I think Hasan and Ryan are tied, but have two completey different strength. Ryan would be a better fit for us.

I really like Harris more than McKinley, mac is just so much faster. He is not going to help us in the run...but he will definitely be a assest for pass rush. I think Tim, Walker, Harris, Anderson can help us in the pass rush and run defense, that's why I like them the most.

I will likely make a sleeper list for next week.

The guy Hunter from Utah may be a sleeper, But I cant find any good vids on him. Can anybody help. Maybe there is another player on the D that has a few videos, or a Team defense vs a Team offense condensed video?
