  1. I had to laugh when I saw these tweets from former Colt, Gary Brackett.

    Over the suspension:

ESPN Suspends Rob Parker Over RGIII Comments - he was reportedly suspended indefinitely.. He must feel real black now.. Smdh #dummy

    Over the firing:

    Hilarious.

  2. What did people see this past Monday to actually still want Teo? You can say it is overreaction to one game, but that was the most NFL talent across the board Teo had seen at one time and he did not adjust. At all.

You are right.  He didn't play well.  No one did on the defense.  Notre Dame was outplayed and out-coached. I still don't think the outcome would have been much different, but does anyone, besides me, hate the month wait before the National Championship?   I think it turned a game in which Notre Dame loses to a game Notre Dame gets crushed(the game we saw).

To repeat what a lot have said already, even if Teo had played well and he was still being heralded as the next coming at MLB, I still wouldn't want the Colts to take him because we simply do not need a MLB. The Colts actually have a good linebacker crew...

Debatable if we have a good linebacker crew, but for the most part I agree with that statement. I  We could upgrade, but I don't think Teo is an upgrade at this point.

and Teo is not needed in the least, especially when we have so many other glaring needs elsewhere.

Definitely agree.  This is probably the reason we pass if he falls to us.  I think (even using BPA) we go OL or DB.

I am not saying Teo is going to be a bust. However, I think it is a very real possibility he comes into the league and is just another average MLB. Nothing special.

This could very well be true.  Time will tell.  I still think he is selected round 1.

I didn't mean to pick apart you post, but you made a lot of good points I wanted to comment on.

  3. the title was name one player you want the colts to sign or draft....i figure that to mean one high on your list.

Okay... I understand. That is pretty funny. See I would have read it that way if it was name the one player you want the colts to sign or draft.

Aaron Maybin is not even a must sign.  Just one I want to sign. Hopefully a low risk, high reward kind of guy.

One high on my list would be Andy Levitre, but that's been said many times on here.

Edit: Breaking Bad is one of my favorite shows.  Nice profile pic.

Sign: Jairus Byrd (long shot, but it's who you want to sign)

    Draft: Chance Warmack

    This would be nice.

  4. Anyone that follows the "Football Today" podcast knows that Matt Williamson thought our preseason roster was devoid of talent and on par with an expansion level team.

I know we hadn't proved anything at that point, but I thought that was particularly harsh.  I'm glad the Colts proved him wrong.

  5. I think by the time the draft rolls around, we will have two or three QBs taken in the first round.  It's just too easy for the media to hype these guys up after combine, workouts, etc.

Especially after what we've seen this year.  3 rookie QBs in the playoffs.  I think it is going to be hard for some of these teams not to take the chance, even on what is widely considered a weak QB draft class.

  6. I do love mock drafts.

I'm guessing even though it's a need, the Giants pass on Eifert.  Not due to lack of skill.

How many people thought Fleener would be a Giant?  It seems like everyone projected that because it made so much sense.

I think they pass again unless their hand is forced by everyone else's draft.

It's a good initial mock.  Fills a lot of teams current needs.  Fun to speculate.  I look forward to future updates.

  7. Of the many acts of idiocy I've seem athletes commit, I have never seen one mock someone that just recovered from a life threatening battle with cancer.  I wouldn't be surprised if I were wrong, but to go there based on what Foster did is taking skepticism and the fact that he scored a TD on us a bit too far.

I'm not sure I follow you.

I think having a discussion/poll about it on a fan board is fair though... that is what I'm defending.  Not that I think he mocked us.

If it's Colts related it, I think we should be allowed to discuss it.

  8. If I came across as snarky it was in response to your humanatarian sarcasm. I never said you thought he was bad or not, but to assume the worst of a player with his reputation is questionable. Again, not saying you are, I'm just contributing to the overall argument.

Fair enough,  I think we both are generally saying the same thing.   It's not like he mooned the sign a la Randy Moss.  Like others have said it was just a little disconcerting after the score.  And I don't think anyone in this discussion is assuming the worst.  It just a discussion about the motive and broader themes of player celebrations and motives.

My reply wasn't intended as an attack, but like you said it was sarcastic.  I feel a little sarcasm has its place in lively debates and have enjoyed this discussion.

When it comes down to Foster... he is perceived as  a class act and should be treated as such until proven otherwise. I think everyone would agree to that.

  9. I don't have to know him personally to know that he is no buffoon. He hasn't done anything since he started for the first time the last few games of his rookie season due to the starter's injury that says bad guy or stupid player. Your own fans are saying the same thing. This man respects every other human being, you should listen to him talk and read about him. Give you something interesting to do.

You are acting like I attacked his character.  Never said that, never implied that.

I implied that we shouldn't be surprised if any player did something as tasteless as mocking the Chuckstrong movement.

I also said I believe he did it with the best intentions and because I am not Arian Foster, I think it is fair to question motive.  Again I think classy move.  But let's not belittle those who don't share our opinion.

  10. Anybody who thought he did that to mock Chuck in anyway should reexamine the way they look at people in general.

How can you even say that after all the childish things we've seen in the NFL?

I don't think he did it to mock, but we've all seen players do things in the heat of the moment that they regretted later.

  11. Good. I was looking for a thread.  Black Monday has come at last.

    1. Chip Kelly would be very interesting.

    2. It has been a long time coming for Norv.  Continues to underachieve with roster.

    3. Will the Browns ever turn it around? It seems like they blow up the organization every year.

    4. I really thought they would fire Rex.   Maybe they give him another year.

    5. I understand if a new GM comes in, they want "their guy", but Whisenhunt has probably done the best he can with the pieces he's got.  Deserves another year unless the new GM already has someone in mind.

    6. Same as above. GMs should be able to clean house.

    7. Same as above. Better coordinator than head coach.

    8. I've never really cared for Schwartz.  3 seasons below .500.  50/50 on firing him.

  12. Then John Clayton turned up the heavy metal music and ate some Chinese food.

    Back on topic.

I'd love for Bruce to stay, but wish him well if he really wants the opportunity.  I'd probably choose Eagles over Chargers, but you need a quicker turn around in the Philly market.  You might get more time on the Chargers to turn things around.

And I'd rather see Polian on ESPN.  He actually does have an interesting insight on occasion.

  13. Yes,  they likely lost a 2nd round pick.   Though a story I read this week said the NFL might change that pick.

But, losing a high 2nd round pick eliminates them from being a partner to trade down with.     If they don't have a pick, then they can't give us something worth trading down for....

    Oh well....

Yeah... I thought I had heard that. See anything with regards to the pick they lost last year?
