Some interesting tidbits in there. I guess Pagano and company are buying Johnson at NT.
-
While NT is a need, we'd be reaching for anyone at 34. Either trade down for Ta'amu or wait it out.
I would love to see Randle there at 34.
-
Fair enough. But just because we haven't had success with that transition doesn't mean it isn't possible. Eric Wood in Buffalo was drafted as a center, played guard early in his career and is one of the better centers in the game now.
-
...do we make offers to trade up for him? Greg Cosell is one of my favorite draftniks, and he has said on twitter that he does not have Kalil going in the Top 10. Thoughts?
-
They said the same thing about Mike Pollack. I think we all remember how that turned out.
We also drafted Anthony Gonzalez in the same area and that didn't work out, so should we also avoid WR?
-
What's the word on Josh Chichester? He's a former basketball player who started at WR and moved to TE; I was thinking he would be a great guy to target late.
-
There's a slight chance Konz slides to us. He would be a great fit.
-
Makes me really excited about the future!
-
I'd say it's a toss-up. The Luck v. Stafford matchup would be interesting, as would two potential playoff teams.
-
If you don't think Marvin is that great, what's your argument for the '98 roster?
-
How can we tell at this point? Who knows who will step up on this new Colts team, let alone who will have good college years. If we can get a stud at a position of need in next year's draft, we do it. If we can't, and can trade for a boatload of picks, we do it.
-
What do you think?
I think having Harrison outweighs the better defense. Not sure Peyton is in the discussion of all-time greats without Marvin.
-
The progress I hope for.... a competent, if not game-changing, QB and an improved defense leading to a 5-11 season.
-
Honestly, I think our roster is about as strong as the 2010 roster (minus Peyton). I think the OL is much improved while DB's are worse. Our needs, from greatest to least:
NT, CB, TE, OL, WR, DE, ILB
OL, WR, and DE are passable but could use some depth. Am I the only person who isn't buying Connell at ILB?
Also, don't forget Zbikowski. Safety isn't a need anymore.

1. Clark
2. Pollard
3. Dilger
4. Tamme
Agreed.
-
Let us wait to see what projected 1st rounder drops down due to all the rising of other players.
I agree. If it turns out someone falls that isn't a need for us, trading back with a team who does have the need makes sense.
-
I still think Addai might get signed to the Broncos. Clark could be back with the Colts. I'm not sure the other guys will get much interest.
-
I'd take a look at Locker as a high end QB2. Rifle of an arm and nice weapons around him.
I think Donald Brown will be a nice sleeper this year. Maybe even Delone, depending on how things shape up in camp. Wayne and Collie could be nice values depending on their ADP. Maybe even Avery if you're taking a late round flier. If we get a talented TE he might be worth a look as well.
My top 4 picks will be Foster, Rice, McCoy, and MJD with no questions asked. It gets pretty sketchy after that.. maybe Megatron and Rodgers, or Mathews.
-
No thanks. Donald/Delone will be fine. If we're rostering another RB it should be someone who can contribute on special teams.
-
I keep hearing about these other huge needs, but I don't see them. Maybe another body on the Oline, a TE, a WR, and a true NT. That still leaves room for 2 CBs in the draft. Pagano needs to get his guys back there since his style will rely on a lot of man-to-man.
-
I'm convinced we'll draft 2, maybe 3 CBs. We've been active in free agency in every area of need besides CB.
-
I know this topic is about WR, but I think Fleener makes the most sense if he is there in the 2nd. He could be the next Graham/Gronk type...
-
Great, another safety with an easy to mispronounce last name. I still haven't figured out if its "Buh-they" or "Buh-they-a". Now Zbikoskisokski? Ha.
-
We should definitely look at Fleener. I think he may even be worth moving up. He has Graham/Gronk potential according to some.

You're correct, but most are doubtful Johnson demands a double team.
