Waiver claims begin at 12ET, aka in 5 minutes.
-
How about Evan Moore? We could use another TE, and he has tons of upside as a receiving threat.
-
Wasn't Nevis playing NT last night? I didn't watch the entire game, but saw him make a few plays and he looks a lot bigger this year.
-
Does this mean Kris Adams made the roster?!!?
Looks like it. Hope he or Fleener develops into that big receiver that we've lacked for years.
-
Hmmmm. Our NT situation is looking sketchy. They must be happy with Nevis there...
-
I think we need DL help more than OL. Luck looks to have above average pocket awareness. I think he can make this OL look better than it is like a certain QB used to do. Of course, upgrades for both would be great.
-
Solid trade. We know what we're getting in Vontae, never know with a draft pick. Even if he underachieves as has been his tendency he's still our best corner.
This doesn't magically fix our defense though. Alfred Morris just ran for 7.6 ypc on us.
Alfred. Morris. 7.6.

The first preseason game was on WMYO 58 for the Louisville viewing areas and this game will be on there as well. Wonder if our boy Sorgi will get some announcing time again?
-
Coby Fleener.

I agree 1st unit didn't look great. The D had a hard time stopping the run when Jackson was in, he was picking up 6yds a carry. They second unit looked much better with Hughs, Nevis and Co.
I totally agree. If you think our defense looked good, you need to rewatch the first series. We were saved by a false start penalty. Bradford and Sjax were practically moving the ball at will.

Depending on your scoring, your LB's could be pretty weak.
-
How many teams are in the league, like 6? This team is insanely stacked.
-
Word out of camp is Link will be competing with Reitz for a starting guard spot. It seems to have a lot of people puzzled. Thoughts on that specific situation and how the rest of the OL pans out?
-
No thanks. I feel like the Seahawks WR's are worse than ours, and he can't even make the cut there? I'm going to assume it has something to do with work ethic; maybe he showed up overweight again.
-
Keep an eye on Hillman. He's worth a late round flier.
-
That reminds me of another good point: don't pay for big names. A lot of times guys are great defenders but do not put up big fantasy points. CB's are the worst about this; guys like Revis have little value.
-
What's everyone thoughts on the TE position? Where would you take Gronk/Graham? What about the next tier of guys? It's even feasible to wait until the end of your draft and roll with upside guys like Gresham or Cook.
Personally, if I miss on the top 2, I'll be waiting. Fred Davis is a favorite of mine who tends to fall later, and I really like Olsen even later.

My biggest tip would be learn your league settings inside out. There is a big variance from league to league on scoring settings that can drastically change the value of players. What positions (DT specific? CB specific?) and how many of each you start also affect value. That being said...
You can wait on DBs. Even if they score relatively high points per season, the turnover from year to year is insanely high. Last year, guys like Kam Chancellor and Darian Stewart were drafted really late and ended as solid starters. Find some sleepers you like and target them later while prioritizing DE and LB.
You'll probably want to get an elite DE. JPP will be one of if not the first IDP off the board, sometimes as early as round 3/4. You can get other guys a bit cheaper, but in my mind it's the most shallow position.
You're correct in assuming LB is the bread and butter of IDP. The problem is, the production doesn't decline nearly as sharply as the DE position. I like to get an elite guy anyway for the security of production.
Though some elite guys might come off the board sooner, I'd say rounds 8-9 are when guys really start going. It really depends on your offensive draft strategy and how comfortable you are with your starters (or lack of depth behind them). Check out the ADP from PFF for a more detailed look: http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/05/27/fantasy-early-idp-average-draft-position-data/

What's yours? Lots of talk by "experts" saying to avoid the RB early plan and take a safer route, usually QB. Then again, there's quite a bit of depth at QB and not so much at RB. And of course there's the studs at WR and TE...
Let's say we're looking at a "standard" league that starts 1QB/2RB/3WR/TE, non-PPR. If you play in a different style league, feel free to post those strategies as well.
I'm going to be targeting a RB in round 1. I also want one of Gronk or Graham; I might reach at the back-end of round 1 to get them if I don't like the RBs. I'll be waiting on a QB. I'm planning to go QBBC with two of Big Ben, Cutler, RGIII, Schaub, Freeman, and Flacco.
-
I think also we could have a deep sleeper in either Avery or Brazill....Depending on health of course.
I'll take Hilton over Brazill for sure and depending on how things look in camp possibly over Avery.
-
If you want to talk IDP, Bethea and Angerer are both worth monitoring. There's a good chance they'll be overvalued after strong seasons last year though.
Zbikowski could be a decent late option (and will at least eat into Bethea's production). Conner also will be a nice depth value with his shift inside. Keep an eye on Powers in CB-specific leagues, though I don't think he'll be worth a roster spot.
Mathis loses what value he had with the switch to LB. Same with Freeney.
-
Luck, Wayne, Collie, Fleener, Allen.
In that order .
If you're thinking raw points scored, probably. But, value-wise, I think Wayne should be ahead of Luck and possibly Fleener ahead of Collie. You might even argue Fleener/Collie ahead of Luck since QB is so deep.
-
Yup. If you're willing to accept you might only get 10 good games out of him, you'll love him for those 10 games. And of course, injuries are unpredictable, so if he does throw in a full season it's even better.
-
Not sure I'm buying Bradshaw with his injury history and David Wilson in the mix. He has the same risk/reward as Beanie, but is more expensive.
Even though he's a rookie, it's hard to dislike Trent Richardson. He'll be a 3-down workhorse from the onset and even if he struggles shear volume should keep him productive.
How about Darren McFadden? If you're willing to roll the dice, it's not hard to imagine him being a Top 5 guy. In the back-end of 12 team drafts, I'd be happy with a pair of Richardson/McFadden.
Reggie Bush is another option in the middle rounds. He had a career year last year and most anticipate him to regress, especially if Daniel Thomas can improve this offseason. But, Bush might be the best receiver on the Dolphins now. Word is Philbin will return him to his "hybrid" RB/WR role. I don't think 150/700 rushing and 60/500 receiving with 6-7 TD's is out of the question which would make him a borderline RB1/2 yet again.
How do you feel about the roster as a whole?

Good assessment. I might flip DT and DE, but both are rough. Safety has no depth, but at least the starters are good. I feel better about that than either of the DL.
