This is only an issue if someone is wearing #18. Move along.

You don't have to run a 4.3 to stretch the field. Ask any CB going against Vincent Jackson...Big bodied, yes ~ Field stretcher, no.
Â
I would much rather have a 6'2'' receiver that runs 4.3 to stretch the field with that a TE that runs 4.5. We still need that vertical threat to open up the under for out TE's/slot guys

I've been saying for a while now we're set a receivers. Fleener is the that big bodied field stretcher that many are begging for, but Arians just didn't use him correctly. Blame some of that on injuries as well, plus TE's have a history of taking longer to adjust to the NFL. I can't wait to see Fleener line up at split end, with Hilton in the slot, opposite Allen and Wayne. Sounds pretty formidable to me.

Still talking Doug Baldwin? Seattle has one of the league's premier safety tandems already...I will throw another one out there....Bethea for Baldwin only if we can get Ed Reed to sign..
-
Isn't Baldwin more of a slot guy? I mean, I think T.Y. will be fine outside if that's the case. What about Doug Baldwin....Stanford connection and all....He could move into the outside spot he is expendible now that they have Harvin,Rice,Tate..

Darrius Heyward-Bey was released 5 days ago...Anyone have some educated guesses? THey have been working on the deal for the last 5 days.... hmmm

Here's a guy that hasn't been discussed much on the forums. What do you think of bringing him in as our Freeney replacement? Rotoworld's Evan Silva thinks it's possible and mentions him in this article:

We are so talent devoid that trading up is not an option, unfortunately. We need 3-4 average OL more than we need 1 outstanding OL.
-
At this point, we have playmakers at WR. Anything we add above the depth-level Barden type is a luxury. We have too many needs to address luxuries at this point. Just be grateful we have playmakers; some teams don't have any!
As far as the "big target" receivers we "need," isn't that what Fleener and Allen are for? I imagine Fleener's measurables are in the same ballpark as Barden's.

I dont understand everyones obsession with a "Big WR". All I would like is a reciever that can produce! idc what size you are as long as you are a reliable wr (sure hands, knows how to get open)..and since when does being big and tall make you better than someone that isnt?? I would take Jennings any day idc if he's 5'11 or 2'11 the guy can ball and yall know that. Yes, everyone would like a Calvin Johnson, but the problem is there is not many of them walking this planet.
Those one guys were pretty good, and only 6'. I think their names were Marvin and Reggie.

I'm still not sure TY's body is cut out for the outside. I think he'd be more effective in a Victor Cruz type role.
Seemed like he lined up outside an awful lot this year, with Reggie handling slot duties. I mean, Donnie Avery is about the same build with a worse injury history and he did fine outside. Others have said Brazill will suit the outside well, too. If we're going to get a WR, let's get a big physical guy that our offense is currently lacking, not another speedster like we have.
-
Don't really see the point to the Hartline signing. Hilton should be our #2 next year, Brazill/Fleener #3.
-
He probably has already started. That's kind of his job.
-
I may be incorrect, but I feel like people are wrong when they label him as a slot guy. It seems like he saw plenty of action out wide in 3WR sets, with Reggie working the slot quite often.

We haven't beaten the Ravens yet...
-
Jairus Byrd and draft a DT (Williams?)
-
Steven Jackson is still a quality starter, he'll get starter money somewhere. Plenty of teams with RB need.
-
We need a playmaker at safety. The Ravens and Steelers 3-4 was at it's best when they had Ed Reed and Troy Polamalu making plays in the secondary. Zbikowski is just a serviceable filler until we find that person. I see no reason why Lefeged couldn't do the same, though I doubt he is that person either.
-
I'd take Andre against a GB defense that couldn't handle Wayne.
That being said, I do like Hilton as well. He could have a breakout performance against a Jets D who gameplans to stop Wayne. Of course, Avery could be that guy as well...
-
Will he be able to play this week? We really need him now with Brown out. I'd feel much better about him as a 3rd down back than Ballard or Carter.
-
Personally, I think we should put Brazill back there so Hilton can focus on his role on offense.
-
Encouraging that the elite Packers offense is struggling with the Bears D too. Makes me feel better about our Colts offense!
-
If we gain one rank every week I'd be ecstatic.

Just imagine if it was King starting and covering Marshall...

Not familiar with him, but love seeing all the plays made against the run. He might not be the flashy sack specialist everyone wanted on the outside, but we've had that for ten years and look where that got out run defense...
