  1. I just like Moore as more of an OLB than I do Okafor. Okafor seems more like a 43 DE in the NFL to me than he does a 34 OLB.

TBH I like Jamie Collins more than both of them though.

They are literally the same height and Okafor has about 15lbs on him. Both of them are in pretty good range for a 3-4 OLB, but I'd argue that Okafor has the better body type aside from being faster and stronger (at least comparing their combine/pro day results).

Don't get me wrong, I like Demontre Moore...just looking for more than a "feeling" to understand why Okafor is dismissed in the argument.

  2. Case Keenum had better stats than Luck did coming out of college. I'm more concerned about how their playing styles translate to the NFL.

Did you see Okafor beating Eric Fisher at the Senior Bowl all day in one on one drills? I guess I'd be willing to entertain the comparison if I could see any evidence to suggest that he's not every bit as good as Demontre Moore.

  4. It is not just 1 run and hes not a burner.Hes a playmaker with great hands, you do not have to be a burner to stretch the field. But i still want an OLBr at 24 just my thought and a G in 3rd.

Yeah, WR is not my first choice for our pick, i'm just speaking to the point. He's a great WR and maybe he's not a burner, but maybe he's the next Anquan Bolden. He's noted to be a 4.55 player on tape and he could develop into a #1 WR especially in a WC offense that doesn't require burners as much as big physical WR's such as Allen.

  5. Nobody should be oppressed or treated differently/unfairly for who they are. The NFL should be indifferent in regards to race/religious beliefs (or lack thereof) and sexual orientation. These are professional athletes. It shouldn't be a big deal. I hope everyone will be understanding and accepting when these players choose to come out.

  6. different position entirely plus at the time Ray Lewis was 250 or so lbs not a 5'9" 186lbs. Given his reckless style of play he is just an injury waiting to happen once he take a few shots at a bigger stronger wr over the middle or a TE plus his cover skills are below average at best, he does have a position though and thats Nickel Corner and at best a FS that can roam around and make plays but I wouldn't draft him, to many bigger Safeties throughout the entire draft that in my opinion are as good or better

ok. I disagree. no big deal.

  7. Incredibly unrealistic and at the risk of getting more unrealistic I decided not to do any sort of trade scenario. Absolutely despise trades in mock drafts.

Round 1 Pick 24: Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma (A)
Round 3 Pick 24: Sylvester Williams, DT, North Carolina (A)
    Round 4 Pick 24: Brian Schwenke, C, California (A)
Round 6 Pick 24: Chase Thomas, OLB, Stanford (A)
Round 7 Pick 24: Jasper Collins, WR, Mount Union (B+)
Round 7 Pick 48 (COMP): Knile Davis, RB, Arkansas (A)

  8. Kiko Alonso is being projected as a second rounder by NFLNetwork in their NFC North mock or maybe it was AFC. Extremely unlikely that Mathieu makes it out of the second. Carradine doesn't really strike me as a 3/4 olb, he seems like a traditional 4/3 DE like his counterpart Bjoern Werner. Still not a bad mock though. Just giving my thoughts, no disrespect.

I'm not moved by NFL Network's mock drafts. Nobody is every 100% right on picks. I remember last year having Jared Crick in my mock draft in the 3rd, people complained and said he'd go in the 2nd according to "XXXX mock draft", then he went in the 4th round.

  9. Really??? No offense to FLS, we all have our different opinions, but I really don't like a single pick on this one. Carradine, Like others have already said is coming off ACL surgery, that's always a red flag IMO. Mathieu is a guy with no true position, no way he's a safety and can't cover to save his life. Don't think we really need and ILBer, Watford is undersized and not very strong. For a man blocking team, we need bigger, stronger guys up front. Collins is another tiny WR that pretty much brings nothing different to the other 5 guys on the roster just like him. Josh Johnson isn't bad, but I don't like the pick because he won't be available with the last pick of the draft IMO. Mayock said he's one of the most under rated CB's in the draft.

No offense taken. I feel the exact opposite on literally everything you are saying. I stand firmly by the picks.

  10. We've had some moves that were made and FA is calming down so I thought I'd join the fun and do another mock draft for your criticism   :)

Round 1 : Tank Carradine OLB Florida State - There is just no way that the Colts FO can be secure with Erik Walden. This guy is a game-wrecker and one of the best under the radar pass rushers available in this draft.

Round 3 : Tyrann Mathieu CB/FS LSU - Yup...the Honey Badger. It's just not fair to let a kid this talented drop so far. I don't believe he's a CB in the NFL. Probably a Free Safety...but that is convenient considering Bethea is entering the last year of his contract.

Round 4 : Kiko Alonso ILB Oregon - Nothing wrong with getting stronger at ILB in Pagano's defense.

Round 6 : Earl Watford OG James Madison - A lot of mixed opinions on this kid, but if he's there in the 6th round, we should definitely take advantage of any opportunity that puts Mike McGlynn on the sidelines.

Round 7 : Jasper Collins WR Mount Union - Oh Mount Union...you give us so many under the radar prospects. I like Collins a lot and I do believe he'll drop to the 7th round and we could gain great value from him for years to come.

Round 7 : Josh Johnson CB Purdue - Doesn't have great speed but solid in man coverage. This would be a more useful pick for this years Mr. Irrelevant than last year...

  11. I think history has proven exceptions across all sports where guys without amazing physical talents can be more effective than guys with exceptional abilities.

Kellen Moore would be a more accurate example. The most winningest QB in NCAA history. Goes undrafted. Why? Because he doesn't have the physical tools/metrics to be a starting QB in the NFL. Case and point.

  12. There's some football insight that goes into that, team needs, player value, etc.

Predicting the schedule is logistics. But, hey, TBH I'd rather read about that than MLB right now.

Yes but you have 32 teams and hundreds of prospects. Do you think anybody besides SEA and SF had Bruce Irvin or AJ Jenkins in the 1st round...at all?

At least with the schedule for one team, there are not many variables. It's like a lottery with only 17 slots to fill instead of 32 for the draft but you already know the numbers. The difference is information. You know who each team is playing. Now it's just a matter of getting it in order. With the draft, you have so much to consider. Not only do you have to guess as to which prospect any one team "needs", but then you have to account for that team not drafting "needs" and getting what THEY feel is the best player on the board which is unknown to the general public. Then after you figure that part out you have to consider the possibility of trades which happen often. The probability of guessing the schedule is much higher than guessing the first round of the draft in my opinion :)

Anyone else feel a forum challenge coming on?

  13. Wait... You 'predict the schedule'? Is that something people really do? I get predicting wins/losses/draft picks/etc...

But predicting the schedule? Wow, that's hard core! Good for you.

Still probably easier to do than predicting the 1st round of the draft and hundreds of people get paid to do that...
