  1. It's the NFL and it's reality. It's not high school and it's not college. Running QBs will miss games. As a GM and/or a coach, you realize that when you make a decision which direction you want to pursue. Also, when they reach 29-30, they better have become a passer, because they lose the step or injuries have taken their toll and they aren't affective runners any longer. But here's hoping Richardson surprises many and becomes a much better NFL passer than he was in college.

It’s only one game, but Richardson and Justin Fields had about the same stats today. I see Richardson as a less accurate Fields as a comparison.

    Yep, my take as well.

  3. Hoping Richardson pans out, but unfortunately he appears to be what he showed in college. Decent runner but not much of a passer. Obviously preseason doesn't mean much, and it's too early to tell, but he wasn't a passer in college so not sure he'll pan out more than just a back up change of pace QB for someone. Still, being a major Colts fan, I hoping I am dead wrong and he turns out to be at least a 4 year spark and turns out to be at least a decent QB. Really hoping I'm wrong.

I still see a benefit of opening it up despite the issues.  It was way to much leaning in one political direction which is potential disastrous for both parties and the unaffiliated.

it added to the potentially catastrophic polarization that is happening.

IMO despite the ugliness, it’s better that it is either open and ugly rather than biased and cleaner, and it’s also better if it becomes irrelevant rather than being biased and clean.

The damage of all the polar media is profound and we haven’t begun to see the worst of its affects IMO.

Not a huge Musk fan but I think he’s sacrificing a bunch of his own money and doing the world a favor overall.

I share your profession and have witnessed the horrendous affects of biased leaning social media like Twitter.

you have to open up the wound.  It’s gonna stink and be nasty but at least it won’t rot us from the inside undetected as much.

Outstanding informed response. You are on the money.

If you add rushing tds and yards Richardson had 26 touchdowns and 3200 yards . That is in 13 games with another 4 he would probably be over 30 touchdowns and 4000 yards . That is good for a first year starter

Hope  you're right, but I'm thinking more like 15  TDs passing, 18 INTs  and 8 rushing TDs. This gets most benched, but we'll keep this and see who's closer to right.  Hope you are.

he is a number 1 on this team  but he is not elite  yet

Yep, Pittman is a #1 on the Colts only. He's a classic #2 since he doesn't have elite speed. We have no reliable WR with elite speed, and everyone saw that before the season except Ballard.

  7. And to add insult to injury, the teams we are losing to are just plain not good. Texans will be 0-3 after today, and we are so bad as fans that a mod said after our first game "who says the Texans are bad"? Well I did then and I do now. And the Titans are average at best. May as well start Foles or Ehlinger, can't be worse than this.

  8. I am not one that says we should sign every big name free agent or every big name "has been" such as Julio Jones or not a true #1 WR like Landry (4.7 40 guy that's been a solid #2 -already have that in Pittman). But honestly, Ballard has let several viable free agents sign with other teams and has not filled many of the obvious holes needed. In fact, we replaced 27 tds and 7 ints with an avg of 23 tds and 13 ints the last 3 years. Glad we jettisoned Wentz but Matty Ice never was Ice (reference taking a sack in SB vs. Pats when just needed to throw out of bounds and kick a FG).  Ngakoue is a solid addition but not enough. Looking at 8-9 or 9-8 with this roster. Our 17th ranked defense certainly isn't scary and is mediocre (14-16th this coming year). Just wish I knew Ballard's plan, or now I honestly wonder if he's just a decent drafting GM, but not a good overall GM. We shall see. But in the mean time the true stars on this team are not getting any younger and wasting good years.

  9.  We really need to get over this ''homer'' attitude of overrating our own players just because they are Colts. Hooker is mediocre at best, in fact only Moore is above average of all our DBs. They make average QBs look good and make great Qbs like Brees break records (29-30 attempts).  We need a lot of help rushing the passer for sure, but the DBs are collectively not good.  A lot of help needed there too.

  10. I like Brissett's attitude and apparent work ethic, plus he played here in NC in college , so I really pulled for him, but honestly he is average--not bad, but average. You can build a team around him if you don't mind being 7-9 to 9-7, but honestly, the Colts can't build around him. Only Joe Burrow would be the franchise type coming out this  year and Trevor Lawrence next year. Neither of which will we get a shot at. But we do need to make a change, unless 7-9 to 9-7 is good enough for the fanbase.

It sounded like my nitpicking mother-in-law (who is actually my wife's stepmom). Whether it is good or bad food served by us at Christmas when we host, she always has something to say, I also "had" friends like that.

Over time (it did not happen overnight), I have learnt not to react and engage, and let it go through from one ear to another. In the past, I would engage over and over again and it would lead to arguments, not worth it. :)

Totally get this Chad. Good job. I have often thought that some on here would argue if you said on a clear day the sky appears blue (appears). Good going.
