  1. I'd wait to make sure Luck is going to wear number 12 first!

He might take a number like 10 or something. That's the number his dad wore with the Oilers and remember even Peyton changed his number from college to the pros. With that said I think Luck will wear 12 and I hope he does 12 is my favorite number :) (I have a Jim Harbaugh number 12 jersey to prove it!), but you never know.

Good point! He may do 10, since Jim's was 12. But since Jim was the tudor...he could go different. He could also go 18, but that would be unlikely. ;) Maybe he'll go 17. Unitas 19, Manning 18, Luck 17.. ?

  2. I'm excited. I'm going to order my Luck jersey tomorrow. This is good news that means we are going to compete for another 14 years and not just 1 to 2 more years. Our division is all young QB's, its a perfect time to start over. We have a head start on the Patriots. They will fade and we will be dominant for another 14 years.

  3. If they both want this and they both are all emotional...then what is the problem. I just don't get it.

Forget Luck for the moment, he has time to sit. Forget the GM, Irsay is the owner.

If Peyton is healthy and he wants to stay in Indy and if Irsay really wants him to stay and play, then I don't get the problem.

They both have said they would work it out. Peyton said he would take less, Irsay said Peyton could play here if he wanted.

Saying Peyton would have to compete for what is HIS team is just plain a slap in the face (IMHO) and that might be the issue here. If so, I do lose respect for this organization. They do owe Peyton more than I can even put into a post.

But seriously, if they are both truly emotional over this, what the heck is the problem?

    Yeah...I am ticked. :sorry:

As much as you are emotional about Peyton. You have to realize, if he leaves its also in his best interest to win another Superbowl. Our rebuilding team isn't going to cut it for him in the limited time he has left to play.

  4. Not sure what this means, but Stanfords running back and O-line had great games as well... And why do you bring up the bowl game? There's 12 others you can choose from too.

If you don't know what it means then why did you write back? I brought up the bowl game because it proves your point in the previous post WRONG. Here's one choice I'll choose from; our draft day in April when we select Andrew Luck. Let the Browns or Redskins gamble on RG3.

  5. I think Luck will be more clutch and be more of an Aaron Rodgers. Manning is excellent statistically, but I think Luck will win 2 Superbowls! We will be a more balanced team facing the future. It will take 2 years to see some results, but everyone think of this.. Our division HAS ALL ROOKIE QB'S!!!!!! We can still be competitive facing the future and Luck looks better than all of our divisional QB's.

  6. Ooooh..... I'd be careful with guarantees and absolutes with any QB.

Too much depends on the other 52 guys on the roster.

True that for the wins category. But QB performance still stands tall on its own merit. Manning is probably the best QB of all time, yet he only won 1 Superbowl. See? But with just the RG3 vs. Luck, I'm 100% confident Luck will have the better QB career; statistics do not lie.

  7. No one knows if Peyton is going anywhere yet, just wishful thinking and opinions so far. And as "everyone" knows, Manning could have been a #2 pick very easily because of good old Ryan Leaf who showed why there are no risk free guarantees in the draft.

True, but all the hype this years draft is around RG3, which eerily mirrors Ryan Leaf. Granted, RG3 is more mature than Leaf. But still, the parallels of Luck and Manning are too good to ignore. If anything, I view Luck as more a mix of Elway and Manning, and I'm sure his career will prove it. RG3 could be good or bad, but it doesn't matter to me, he will definitely be inferior to Luck.

  8. This thread is ridiculous. In a few years when RG3 is a bust, let this post at least serve as a reminder to those who even THOUGHT about taking RG3 that you were so dead wrong!!!!!! When you even look at his 3rd down pressure statistics in college ( a 15.1QB Rating bTw; Lucks is 150QB Rating) its so obvious and comical that one would even think RG3 has a chance in this league.

  9. It seems that more and more with the said rumors that Washington is the one to make the move for RG3. Washington has zero chance of getting Peyton, and Miami is getting Flynn, and with Mike Holgrem is holding the cards for the Browns (which means he's smart enough to not allow a trade of 2 1st rounds just to move up 2 spots). Either way, I'm just glad we're getting Luck and someone else can take the huge risk of getting RG3.

  10. Here's a fun video on NFL.com http://www.nfl.com/v...mics-Draft-Luck

With all the busts out there, with all the successful talents who were drafted late, there is undoubtedly much truth to this. At what point do scouts go from having a talent for scouting to just crossing their fingers? If history is to be believed, just how much more likely is Andrew Luck to be a sure thing than RG3? Does real success in the draft come more from who you pick or HOW you pick? What is your opinion?

There isn't even any argument. Luck is a guaranteed franchise QB and RG3 is a guaranteed bust. people that opinion-ate the opposite are the same people that think they are going to win the lottery every week.

  11. NOTE : this is an article ,

    a FanPosts

not by stampede blue but from a site member there , just like if one member from this site doing the research and posted it

Is an article to go along with stats

Contains An Easy Chart to read

So, of the 19 QBs taken first overall, a grand total of 5 have become Franchise QB’s (Bradshaw, Elway, Aikman, Peyton and Eli)

    http://www.stampedeb...anning?tw_p=twt

This information is useless. Everyone knows Peyton was a #1 pick for a reason. Those same people KNOW why we are dumping even Peyton for the NO RISK guaranteed non-bust of the century with Luck. Its a no-brainer decision. That's why the people in charge are in charge and you are a forum poster with bad data and off-kilter statistics.

  12. All you RG3 Lovers, go to this link...At the 2nd chart down, you will realize WHY RG3 is going to be a bust. He is 20% Completion Pct. on 3rd down pressure and has a 15.1 QB Rating. That is pathetic. In the NFL every down is going to feel like a college pressure 3rd down. With this data, it proves finally WHY RG3 is a complete BUST!!!!!!
