  1. For those who didnt know, Edd and Angerer played that year where the Hawks were ranked as high a 6 and had won like 10 straight games.

The Defense was Phenomenal. A well oiled machine...led by Angerer. These guys are waterboys (the adam sandler kind), true ball hawks. Defensive players from Boise State and Iowa are by far the most underrated in the country.

I'm sure Edd will make great contributions on special teams, and as a LB if his servics are needed. It is as gaurenteed as gold.

  2. "Trust me, I'm bleeding with everyone else. It's still 'we.' It's not 'them.' I'm right there in it with them."

love it, this is why manning is better than brady in my opinion-- no offense...

......he is a true fan, i respect him for this, you can even see it in his play, when he downs the ball at the 1 and doesnt even try to score a 6,

its difficult to not appreciate a player such as him, i hope he can work his magic on offense, it would be crazy, if he could do something special, through another player, ha ha

  3. Jim, you do realize that the only "tony tiny" lb we have left from the Dungy days is Gary Brackett right? And he's not even going to be playing. Every other LB on the roster was brought in after Dungy left. And the lb's we have now aren't nearly as small as the ones we had in Dungy's days. Moten, Angerer and Sims are both 235+ and Conner/Wheeler are both over 240. There's also Nate Tripplett who we just picked back up and he's close to 250. He played MLB quite a bit in the last couple of preseason games. Honestly I'd like to see Conner, Angerer and Tripplett getting the start with Angerer staying at SLB. I know Wheeler has more experience and yes he should be rotated in often, but I think the Conner/Angerer/Tripplett is the best combo we could put against the Browns power running game.

  4. We know things aren't going well when there's so much talk about next years draft after week one.

    :burnout:

this is our problem, and why i hate reading or posting in these threads, its week 1, lets talk about the draft, when there is no football and we know where we sit

until than, its playoffs, and a win at home...

  5. 1. The Packers got extremely lucky to have Rodgers fall that far.

    2. There are no guarantees, so I wouldn't dare waste picks or players to move up for him. Obviously, if we are picking first, there are no stud linemen on either side of the ball available, no stud WR, and Luck is unquestionably the BPA, then we take him. Only then would I even consider it.

People need to stop being so starry eyed about the Favre-Rodgers transition. It just doesn't happen like that but once in a generation.

  6. it doesnt make sense, in a business world, no one gives out million dollar contract, without doing their due diligence,

the surgery probably has been done already, he is probably already rehabbing, while not taking a beating from the new-offensive line,

im pretty sure he had kids, and that no one knew about it- so that is good enough for me to believe it,

im not saying he is faking the injury, for own personal gain, im just saying, the time line, has been altered

  7. Why does the NFL honor this? Seems kinda strange considering the primary, and overwhelming, demographic of NFL fans are men. Is this a shallow attempt at grabbing more female fans through empathy marketing? Why not raise awareness of cancer in general? Why the narrowed focus? Because they want more women. More women = more fans. More fans = more money. How mighty generous of them.

  8. I can believe it,

seriously, if he just had 2 kids-- im sure, the wife would need help and he is the type of man to lend a hand-- again, he also has the ability to hide his prego wife from the media and team--

-- which comes to my next point- which i already mentioned in my indy superbowl-vegas style--thread

-- he probably already had the surgery, and are choosing to mis lead the media-- come one, irsay fought just as hard to get the season back in full swing-- its in indy- they just signed manning to a 5 yr deal--

there are just way to many things that make it seem like a huge roux

  9. So we all know how, the hosting team never wins the big game, and no one really respects manning , the majority do not--

--- so i was just thinking, because we have owners who have "swag" this screws the odds even more, with collins, manning probably already had his 2nd surgery a long time ago-- as we all know he can keep a personal issue, hidden, from the public and the organization,

so he is already healed up, watching, and learning every team, so when he so chooses to come back he does, and takes it in indy!!

    everyone in indy doubles up

media doesnt talk about manning, or colts winning at home= no pressure from us fans....

seriously, could this ever be the true story?

it is really irritating me hearing so many different stories of manning over the last 2 weeks, but after this sunday, mv)P manning who? for 8 weeks.....:\

lol i can hope to be right

  10. I'm not disagreeing with any subjective GOAT opinions here, but it always kinds of surprises me when I see something along these lines.

The Patriots were not the Patriots you know and hate today in the pre-Tom Brady era. They were a team on the decline... 5-11 the year before he started, and 0-2 when he took over. With the same roster of teammates, Brady led them to the division title and Super Bowl win after becoming the starter and the Patriots have never looked back.

I know that Bledsoe played in the AFC Championship Game that season, and I know that Matt Cassel did an admirable job filling in for him in '08. But as a fan of NE since the late 70s, I can tell you that Brady is as responsible for turning around the franchise as much as Belichick or anyone else.

Don't get me wrong here... Manning is the definition of a franchise player, and one of the all-time greats. Easily top five or maybe even top three. But as others have said, the GOAT discussion is generally a waste of time because it's all about opinions, and it would take an unrealistic turn of miraculous events for there to ever be a consensus "best of all time." It's like arguing about the best flavor of ice cream.

really, not to sound like an *, I realy feel belichick, is invaluable, and is the single reason why he he turned that franchise around, he puts all players in a position to succeed, be it bledsoe, brady, or cassel

b.b is genius, well, maybe, manning might got him figured out

  11. there is no silver lining, until we loose more than 10 games,

you are truly not a colts fan,

so is half the people on make threads about draft picks in the top 5, or not making the playoff,

this is my team, with or without manning, i have confidence in our defense, and confidence in our running backs, wayne, clark, collie,

    its getting annoying, seriously,

the season hasnt started, and threads like this is out again, go back to hockey and that weak sport ;)
