  1. Listening to Dodds it sounds like Bean is definitely in the long term plans as a backup QB, not just a UDFA camp body. Exciting times in Colts nation. Also, really love the diverse personalities shining through in these interviews. Can see them flowing over and hopefully one day soon giving the team its own "it" factor. This year feels different

I love posts like these.    I wish we could track them through the years.   I remember I the STAR forum people hated the reggie pick, the freeney pick.  So many haters.   Why not just hope the pick will help the team be better?  Every year these youtube gms think they actually have some knowledge.   You don't.   You have no clue.   I know a few that thinks playing Madden may qualify you .  Are we being serious.   How anyone can be disappointed with this draft at this point is trying to be Mel Kiper.  Ckueless

Guilty..I remember I was listening to the draft on an AM sports channel, working a side job. Anticipating "the Indianapolis Colts select Ricky Williams" and I hear "Edgerrin James" instead...Edgerrin whoooo?? Was upset. but that turned out pretty well!

The team was the Dallas Texans not the Colts. When you leave town you die ask old Baltimore Colts fans. Even Unitas said he would never step foot in Indianapolis.  The Cleveland Browns were the Cleveland Browns. They died, They were extinct just like the Texans. The Ravens were created in Baltimore, not the former Browns. There is no hyphen in their name.

I always feel my integrity questioned being from southern MD and remaining a Colts fan after they moved. I was 14 yrs old in '84. The Redskins were very good in those years, it would have been easy to just jump teams.. but it never would have felt right in my heart. They never died, just moved to a different pasture and I followed them there in spirit.

  4. Read the Broncos tried to strongarm him into renegotiating some injury clauses in his contract during the week 9 bye last year. Things went south from there. Maybe Peyton will distance himself from Broncos org after this?

  5. I'm probably in the minority but Richardson is mature enough to negate a mentor type veteran QB. You can see it in how he carries himself. Keep Sam and draft a later round QB. For example, Tua's younger brother Talia was denied another year of college eligibility and will probably be a day 2 pick if not 3. If AR works out, develop Talia and trade him later.

  6. "The Shoe" is his pride and joy. It wasn't enough to keep him on the straight and narrow path tho. Take that away from him and I suspect the outcome won't be good. Prayers for strength to you Mr Irsay..

I voted none and none. Each has their own flaws to be a top 4 pick. Ballard has shown he doesn't care who we think the Colts should pick and that won't change. Heard the Colts have 17 players on their board considered 1st round talent. Probably wrong but don't believe any of those are QB's.

Hate to quote myself but I remember this poll :peek:

He says even when Colts had Gilmore last year and have quick and fast defensive backs this year like most of the league, DC's style of providing the cushion to receivers (after you approach) makes it easier for opponents to get yards and scores.

He thinks Gus Bradley defense would rarely work with this approach, even if you get a strong roster on the defensive side.

Why's this remind me of the scene on the movie Airplane where Beaver Cleavers mom interprets some "jive" haha

  9. Feels like DB's playing 5-8 yards off the LOS is a prerequisite for a Colts defense, no matter the coordinator. Tim Jennings come to mind? Was a whipping bag on here. Then goes to Chicago and is a pro bowler.

AR: " I was thinking about the future and all the super bowls we are gonna win"

That quote was just a dumb statement or comment to make, when he couldn't even finish his rookie season healthy.

The worst part is he's not even joking and honestly believe that the colts will win multiple super bowls with him as QB, which of course is very positive, though also very naive attitude to have.

Someone wrote that the injury humbled him, nah not really.

The quote above is exactly one of the reasons why I don't believe in Anthony Richardson, as he strikes me as a person that thinks he live on a pink cloud instead of keeping his feed on the ground.

Could the colts win multiple super bowls in the future, of course we could, but a statement like this is as cringe as when Lebron the phony goat aka the chokster, told reporters that Miami Heat would win 7-8 NBA championships with their new big three.

We all know how that ended.

AR simply needs to prove he can stay healthy before even thinking about how many super bowls he's going to win with the colts. Because a dumb comment like the one he gave in the interview is for me an indication that he has megalomania.

To compare with other QB´s in the NFL I have listened to interviews with CJ Stroud, Joe Burrow, Mahomes and Josh Allen and they seems to be more grounded and always have a more realistic mindset than AR in their interviews.

I saw an interview with CJ Stroud after the colts game, where he was asked about if he believed that the Texans could go all the way and win the Super Bowl, to which he answered: " Well, we have just made the playoffs and now we are going to focus on the next game. We need to stay focused and clean up our game and I have to play better. We take one game at the time and then well see. But im glad we made the playoffs.

That is just the right mindset and why I think CJ Stroud is legit and have a very bright future ahead of him.

Two different situations. CJ is talking from a current perspective. Of course he has a "one game at a time" mentality right now. AR is talking about going from the top of the mountain to the deep valley of emotions in a short period of time some 3-4 months later. They are both men of God. No worries, AR is grounded. This very thought crossed my mind this weekend. All this media hype putting the well deserved spotlight on CJ is just going to fuel AR to be better. Fierce competition will elevate them both.

That second half was domination. The way we ran the ball with two backups is crazy. Now hopefully Pittman can get back next week.

Chloe tweeted "colts need a turnover" and it was like the very next play, boom.. int! O line was dominating and fans had the juju going on too!

Everyone is replaceable, if the price is not right. Ballard has let go of LBs like Okereke, Polian let go of LBs like Washington, Thornton etc.

Unless you find that elite Fred Warner, Roquan Smith type (typically found on Day 1 or 2 of the draft), most LBs tend to be replaceable, IMO. If the scouting can find Leonard, Okereke, Franklin at different points of the draft in the past, I am sure they can find those in the future too.

I believe I read once Polian regretted letting Thornton go. Something along the lines of wishing had a do-over. Hind sight is also 20-20

    Here's the thing though.

This is not a bad grade for him really.

Here's what I figure PFF grades vs rosters.

So there are 32 teams. (2) CB spots, (1) NB spot

So that is 64 and 96 players for all 32 teams.

Colts have 3 in the top 53

    Brents - 67(42/112)

    Moore - 76.9(13/112)

    Jones - 65.3(53/112)

I think being ranked in the top half of all CBs, this short time in his career is promising.

He is grading out as a starting #2 CB. (Top 64)

Thanks for sharing the link and responding. Time will tell all and we can only hope!

  14. Of course I cant find it now but just read an article on Jaylon Jones. On limited snaps was playing at a high level, compared to some of best CB's this season. Were gushing over the fact Ballard had high praises for him on the cut down to 53 day..and he's a 7th round pick. Came here to see what his PFF was and grade. Surprised was listed as average with no high mentions.
