Go hang with Sensei Lawrence.... I don't have to hold anyone "accountable" I watch sports, I don't sign players, call plays, coach players, or own a team.  Go keep all the "accounts" you want for all the above.  It will make just as much difference as me enabling them... You're type is THE BEST!  Have a great one bro!

OOW! that stings but sooo true.

  2. Get a competent signal caller, and the team could do well. Pressure up the middle  has to happen

for the defense to get to the next level. Of course if you can't stay healthy, then all is out the window. Good QB - top 5 defense - small injury list = superbowl run. People in Hell want ice water too. Do you realize how many things have to go right for everything to go good?

Stop being a buzzkill Dave! I do agree with you though. Hopefully the way he finished the season will be a springboard to a dominant 2020 season!

the only luck the colts will have is bad luck. Once they get a really good defensive player he will go out and blow an acl in training camp. Its always something

  4. I wrote way back in week 8 or 9, that the Colts would not win another game in their division. The AFC south got better and better, the Colts did not. Injuries happen to all teams so you cannot use that for an excuse. The Jags, titans and Texans had decent QB production. Baltimore and the Texans QB's were celebrated as the new generation of quarterbacks. But once again they have shown their inability to fully carry out the duties of being a successfull QB. Tannehill, Rodgers, Geropello and the Chiefs man are left standing. This is why I do not want Winston,Love,RG3,Prescott,ect ect being behind center for the colts. Much less #7.

I cant believe that so many people want to make Kelly the starter only based upon playing against 2nd and 3rd string guys. Also preseason performance does not equal regular season form. We have been fooled so many times by performances in the pre season.

Well, after Jacoby's stellar performance all season long, the performance bar in Indy is set pretty low. I would have rather learned a bit about a man you have sitting on the bench during the last four games than needlessly play the pathetic fool that got you into this situation in the first place.

Right this down. Kelly will be the starter week one. When this happens, you all will have to find a great big box so all of you can climb up on and kiss my ***.

Nothing against Bert, he was a great talent in his own right. Luck always had to deal with the Pats as well. Luck had no running game from 2012-2014. I agree though, comparing era's is tough.

Bert Jones was a better pure passer. there was nothing wrong with his accuracy. To Me he was better than Manning. Back then, 15 to 20 td passes was a great year. Today's rules make defensive backs mind there manners. Unless of course your playing New England, they hold on every play and get caught 30% of the time. Bert Jones today would easily hit the 30 td mark pretty consistantly.

If Kelly was better,  he would be playing.

I'm not so sure about that. Why did the Colts blow smoke about Vinny being their kicker, let him continue his down slide until they put him on IR and claim he is injured? Why not cut him for a better option early on.

  8. Reich was a career back up and played extremely well when he had to start. He is one of the guys and would never say anything bad about any player in the league much less on this roster.

I think he is full aware of Brisset's short comings (which are numerous to say the least), and would want a much better option.

Coaches that have GM power would not have been saddled with this situation. I think between Ballard and Irsay, most of the player decisions are made thru them. I'm not to say they are bad decision makers, but their loyalty is getting in the way of moving forward in a positive way.

Yeh, Luck may have been the fly in the ointment but, there are probably 20 QB's riding the bench

and all are a better option. Hoyer better be an offensive guru, but he can't play. Him being on the roster is puzzling. Ballard's decision I believe. Kelly not getting any chance at all, another Ballard decision. I do like Ballard's draft prowess. A lot of rookies played a lot of games this year.

Ballard needs to supply Reich with good players he and his staff can work with and they should be deciding who starts and who walks. If the Colts can't or won't improve the QB position over the next few weeks, then they will have to live with this, but we don't.

no they aren't.  League has seen this before and its like everything else, its a cycle. Defenses will adjust eventually and then the advantage swings back to the pocket passer.

you are spot on. I never did understand having your franchise QB running around and getting killed. none are built like running backs. Baltimore and texan's will see this play out olso.

Can I ask what if Jacoby looks good and throws for around 350 and 4 TDS. What does that do for the Colts and you going into the offseason.

I do believe that Reich will deliberately want to get JB into rhythm early to allow him to our up some number. That is why I chose 250 yards and 2 TDS.

If you are car shopping, you get one you can see yourself driving and feel good about it long term. Even if Brissett threw for 500 yards and 5 tds, I would take the city bus and give up on driving completely. I would like to see Indy play good football sometime in the next 10 years, but the powers to be will make that decision.

This is coaching. Period. When Luck retires we have no pressure to win. Coaches pull off 5-2 and beat KC. Now they are expected to win. They go 1-6. Today. No pressure. Can't make playoffs. Lo and behold. They look like they did at 5-2. Reich flat out can't coach at all. Has no clue how to manage. He's lost if there is any pressure or meaning to game. This game made me mad and it should every Colts fan. It should also worry u about the Colts future. This is it with Reich. Mediocre. Good when no pressure. As today. Butt cheeks clinched tight when something on the line. He's awful under pressure.

Coaches do not play. All they do is motivate and come up with a game plan. Reich is having to dance with a QB that is no where as good as he was. The beat up Eagles just beat Dallas because their defense held up, their QB did a good job, and Prescot played like Brissett. Colts won today because of hines and the defense. Anyway, Reich has kept the team from giving up. That has to count for something. I'm going to support Reich and hope he solves this QB situation. If he doesnt, then I don't care one way or the other.

They spent the last 6 weeks losing.. Of course they'd show up today, when draft position is a far greater concern to the future of the team than a week 16 contest, for nothing (don't let mindless coach speak taint the truth here, this game doesn't matter-at all).

This team needs a QB and drafting in the middle of the pack is going to make getting a guy who can do the job less likely, not that it's super clear or likely that it happens irrespective.

But it means so much for Brissett's psychological development so he can be QB for next year olso.

He’s the fourth running back.  The three above him on the depth chart are healthy.  The end.

you have to love the Colts way of sticking to the plan. If you make the 53 man roster at the bottom of the depth chart at any position, there is nothing you can do to raise your positioning.

Stick to it until it works or try something next year. Its like "we keep chopping wood".

No wonder New England or anybody else for that matter field better teams year after year.

There is nothing silly about trying new things. Maybe they come across something that fits Jacobys abilities better. If he has to start next season and they figure something out these last two games the better off they are.

Your right. Sanitation engineer fits his abilities perfectly. Do you think he could hit the can?

  15. The draft is a waste of time usually when picking this far back. Derik Carr can play well. Gruden's west coast offense can only be run by a limited few QB's. Carr is a gunslinger type with a lot of talent. Manning would have not have flourished in gruden's system. Carr would excell with Reich I believe. Cam newton would  have one of his bad days and Reich would have to babysit him for two weeks. I think Reich has had enough baby sitting this year to last him a lifetime.

I know this isn’t going to happen but I was curious what you guys would think about this. What if by miracle you knew that we were for sure going to keep trotting JB out there next year to start, but Peyton comes out in a press conference and says he’s been working his butt off and wants to play one more year as a colt.  Who would you rather start for the colts next year in this totally fictional and unlikely scenario? Also keep in mind to make this fun, in this thought experiment we aren’t sucking for draft picks we are trying to at least be competitive.  Would you rather have one more year of ancient Peyton or another most likely mediocre year of JB?

To tell you the truth I would choose Peyton and it’s not even close. Who knows maybe somehow the dude still has some magic up his sleeve. Brady isn’t much older and Peyton wasn’t ever the most physically gifted guy. Peyton often beat people with his superior intellect and knowledge of The game. I think my decision is based mostly in my respect and admiration for #18 than any hostility for JB even though I think JB isn’t that great. I honestly think if Peyton was in shape he could still be pretty darn good.

Please if you are going to complain about how dumb this thread is don’t waste your time. It’s been a rough season with not much good to talk about so I figured I would sort of change the subject and make a fun discussion.  I know this thread is pointless and silly I’m just curious how everyone else feels about this.

I guess the community moderator didn't read your post. No sense of humor? I believe Manning could best JB if he was in a wheel chair. Do you know why Brissett turned down a part on star trek? He couldn't pass in the future either.
