Thats some poor taclking right there by the Panthers D.
Meeks must be their DC.
-
Reggie?
-
This team is just horrible.
This might be the post of the month.
Ima give you +1 rep for this ;p
-
Seen that chick throwing that ball into that hole in the endzone?
Sign that chick! Colts could use a qb or 2.
-
bad play call
It was poor execution, not a bad call. An NFL QB has to figure out the CB was in man coverage on Garçon there as Pierre was motioning. Then, either go elsewhere, audible out of that play or call a timeout.
-
Wasnt it obviious it was man coverage?
Geez Curtis.
-
Painter was yelling so much stuff at the LOS there he had to call a timeout as he confused himself :/
-
Nice catch by Reggie and nice pass by Painter.
He must've meant to throw a slant on that one.
-
Instead of sending the offense on the field, they should punt right away, on 1st down.
The team's picking more yardage it seems when Frathis are on the field.
-
Now, watch Caldwell challenging the fumble and the Panthers getting the ball back
-
After two weeks of preparation, I am glad to see Jim Caldwell and Clyde Christenson came up with a gameplan to play to Curtis Painters strengths.....standing on the sidelines watching the Colts defense.
You're giving them too much credit
-
Jerry Hughes must have an awareness rating of 5. It is third and short and everyone knows who is getting the ball and instead he just runs straight at Williams. He is such a bust.
Three and out! What a way to answer the Panthers.
5 out of what?
Surely not out of 100.
-
Hughes, show your stuff
What stuff?
-
Hopefully they don't abandon the run like they usually do...
No chance of this happening: 2 completed passes for 11 net yards.
Tho, with Caldwell, we never know.
-
No wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Special team play!
-
Man, these commentators really make it seem like Peyton will never play again
Neither of them will win a Pulitzer anyway.
All they're doing is speculations, pure speculations. The way they're talking about it, its obvious they dont have any inside infos and are totally clueless about the case.
-
We just might win today
Now, thats a bold statement.
-
darn, the Colts dont have any luck with the Caldwells.
One cant coach, the other cant catch!
-
Its sad to see Painter's pocket presence, or lack there of.
God, he's totally clueless out there.

3-4 vs the 4-3 thats all i can say... its better if they stay where they are.... what the colts need is pressure up the middle... either blitz the MLB or the need some pretty good DT's
This has been an issue fo the Colts for the last decade or so. I'm not quite sure how hard it is for the FO to figure out.
What the Colts have had, as an advantage, over pretty much every teams in the league in the last decade is a top offense. Why not use an aggressive style of defense (or at least a more agressive style of D, without gonig blitz happy like the Eagles) when we know PM's there?
So what if the other team gets a quick score? They'll get a score regardless, using 12-15 plays/8-9 mins drives and keeping PM on the bench. The Colts D is built on speed (has been for years) so why not use that to put pressure on the opposing QB since there's been constant incompetent play at the DT spot for the Colts in the last decade or so, baring a span of about 1.5 year.

We came into the season needing to improve our OL play, our defense and our special teams. To this point: Defense=LOUSY, OL=LOUSY, ST=LOUSY. These problems are not new, just a continuation of what we've seen in previous seasons. It's either personnel or coaching, but both are ultimately the responsibility of the front office.
Don't be fooled into thinking the return of Peyton Manning will turn this into a title contending team, the same goes for getting Andrew Luck. Without some serious changes, Peyton would be better off to hang it up and retire to some exotic location or get into coaching. My biggest fear is that Irsay won't have the stones to force such needed changes and we'll be back to having the first round of the draft being our most important day of the season....
At some point, the GM will have to be held accountable. If you got Foster and Moala playing on the DL on your team in the NFL, it means you're in troubles.
Either Conner or Angerer could be a starter but not both at the same time. Both are being abused. The CBs/safeties group isnt too bad, above average compared to the NFL. DT and LBs tho are (and have been for years) in the bottom groups of the NFL.
-
That defense has the exact same issue that it has had for years now. The exact same.
This isnt related to Manning not being there btw, but rather a management and coaching issue.
-
He doesn't always make stupid decisions, he sometimes makes stupid decisions. Same thing can be said for every coach in the NFL. Belichick's 4th and 2 call was a stupid decision, but he is still the best coach in the game today.
Thing is tho, he did so because he was afraid of the best player the NFL has seen in the last 20 years. Its called fear. Thats understandable.
However, some of Caldwell decisions are hm, puzzling to say the least. Thats what I think, despite thinking this thread makes no sense considering its the start of the season and there's just no way a HC gets canned at this moment of a season, unless he's coaching for the Bills or Raiders
-
Jon Gruden should be hired as head coach at season's end, regardless of how this year goes.
For the record, Gruden has to be one of the most overrated HC of the last 10 years. Check what happened to the Buccs after his first full year. The guy destroyed what was a great team.
The fact he won the SB with a stacked D that had loads of players in their prime (a D built by Dungy btw) doesnt impress me a bit. He destroyed the Buccs, plain and simple.

The Colts D sure could use the sure tackling machine that is Pat McAfee!
I'm sure he would make a great LB.
