  1. This, to me, is only true if Grigson was dictating coaching staff and personnel to Pagano.

At this point, if any of that was true, it could seem like Irsay is, in a sense, giving Pagano the keys on the coaching side and stripping them from Grigson.  If it plays out, we could retain both through additional seasons.  If not, it would seem a front office refresh is in store.

When I look at what Grigson has done, you have to give him credit for his personnel:

    1. Luck was of course a gimme, though the talking heads were clamoring for RG-ME and he stuck with Luck
    2. Vontae Davis
    3. TY Hilton
    4. Donte Moncrief
    5. Fleener
    6. Allen
    7. Mewhort
    8. D Jackson
    9. Freeman
    10. Langford
    11. Parry
    12. Anderson
    13. Mathis (he could have let him walk... he didn't)
    14. Wayne (he brought him back, possibly at Pagano's insistence)
    15. Gore

Sure, he has had some misses, but he is a guy throwing darts at the board with guys that have solid talent levels.  Some don't pan out for the long haul (Cherilus/Landry).  Some are not as good as we would like (Toler).  But by and large he has brought in talent and not really cap struck this team to the point we can't try new talent.

If you take away any influence he has on the coaching and starters and such (if any of that is true), and leave that aspect to the coaches, he could be a good asset for years to come.  But if he is truly trying to retain power of all aspects, and continues to try to dictate that in the future, he needs to go.  The only time a GM should have full control over the coaching aspects is when he is the head coach himself, ala Bill Bellicheck.  Right now, noone we have is in that caliber, so Pagano's job should be reasonably safe if any of that was true.  Our offense is a shell of what it used to be, but our defense, which is Pagano's background, is middle tier if it wasn't for all those turnovers, and we'd be in good shape to be above middle tier if our offense was worth speaking of.

He has done a terrible job with the offensive line and its been 4 years and not getting better

  2. I totally agree. The Colts have been over achieving since Grigson. Pagano and Luck arrived here. Now it's time to step back and punt so to say. Now we all wait to see what Irsay has in mind.

Yes agreed I never liked either Grigson or Pagano Irsay took a chance now he must correct it the sooner the better

  3. I said it numerous times on this forum over the past three years. When watching this team, I had no clue how they were winning 11 games a year. It's a bad team with even worse coaching. If Luck isn't playing at an elite level, this team is no better than Jacksonville, and in 2015, it's showing.

Luck covered up a lot of flaw's up until this point if we where not in the AFC south I don't even want to guess what our record would have been

  4. True, but Polian rarely went to FA or Trades. Polian has accomplished more, of course, but Grigs is definitely more aggressive

Being aggressive in his case has caused more problems

  5. Anyone else realize what's really happening here?

Boston is the 4th largest market in the United States. It has a very large influence on the national sports media.

99% of the people in Boston absolutely hate the Colts and want to see our team fail. They would love to see us dismantle our team and start over every time we get close to beating the patriots.

    Use your brains people.

Stop buying into the media bias.

    Seriously ?

  6. Walden is the most underrated player on the team IMO but I think Whalen is a close second. He does what is asked, he doesn't fumble or usually do anything stupid. He's also better at returning kicks and punts than people give him credit for IMO. He's not a burner but he has decent vision (look at his return against Houston) He rarely drops a pass when he's in on offense. What are everybody's thoughts on him?

Every time the Colts try to replace him on kick returns he returns. I feel save when he is back there sometimes Grigson overplays his hand

  7. If Luck does have to sit against New England I think we will be fine with Matt. The key to get a win is to score points and have no turnovers. Matt can do that. New England does not have a shut down defense so ball control is maybe the best way of being in the game.

And we do not have a shut down D either I say rest Luck. The way our D has been playing we won't have a chance
