  1. I'd rather use FA this year to pick up a solid vet and then, if we want, use a draft pick or two on O-line but not the first two picks...one of the first two for sure but O-line is not the only need, it's one of our most pressing needs, yes, but not to the extent where I think we should draft two guards and a tackle in our first three picks. We will have plenty of room to work in FA the next couple years and can fill some holes there.

  2. I admit to being somewhat of an optimist, but I really feel like Rookie or not Andrew looked like he had an off game. I know that sounds silly since he doesn't have a real game to compare it to, but I really think he could have done better with or without the lessons to be learned.

Well, considering he faced a very good Bears team and had been pressured on the majority of his pass attempts, I'm happy with his performance. It's hard not to have an off day when you have Henry Melton and every other Bear D-lineman collapsing the pocket

  3. I'm hoping we really go after at least one veteran O-lineman in FA this offseason. Add a couple more solid O-lineman through FA and/or early in the draft to help Satele and give Castonzo a little more time to develop and I think quite a few of our offensive problems will be solved. As a group the o-line showed very small flashes of some nice run blocking but they couldn't give Luck any protection, he had Bears in his face all day.

  4. Im not too high on Beanie this year you might want to keep an eye on the Cardinals and Ryan Williams in FA. I know you cant always have a roster full of guys you like but on your team my top people I'd be looking to move are Big Ben, Meachem, CJ2K, Beanie, and Gresham (for the sake of a top 5) Maybe if you couple Big Ben with one of those you could get something like Cutler, Stafford, or Matt Ryan (in order of my preference) and depending on who you give/who your going for you might be able to get a big upgrade at WR or TE...I love to play the waiver wire too but unless there is a promising reciever you could drop Meachem or maybe even Wright if you are feeling iffy on him then I'd hold off for now.

  5. We may not win this game depending on if the coaches really care about winning it, or if they are just using it for evaluation. Yes, every team uses preseason for evaluation, but some coaches actually want to win too. I don't really know how Pagano feels about it yet. With all that said, the Rams roster is absolute crap, many say the Colts roster is too, but IMO, if our guys have caught onto the new system, they really shouldn't be that bad. Whose ever roster is a little less crappier today, wins.

I took "prepared for reality" not as whether we win or lose but as what if our rookies aren't what we think they are right now? What if, for whatever reason, Luck (sorry but it is a possibility), Brazil, T.Y., Fleener, Dwayne, or Ballard or any combination of those guys just cant get it going. Obviously It wouldn't be anything to cry busted pick about but it could certainly diminish some of the optimism about our young talent around here, at least slightly. That's just how I took it that comment and I'm not trying to say the optimism is a bad thing...it's anything but.

  6. I think they should give each player honest ratings and not worry about the total. If the player has good accuracy, arm strength, awareness, etc. and his ratings happen to make him very good and even better than some pros, what's the problem? I'm not saying his awareness should be 95, but I thinking 75-80 would be accurate for him right now.

and that would likely put his overall up to about 86-88 and that would cause an uproar from RG3 supporters, in studio, asking why he wouldn't be more aware and cause them to raise his ratings then pretty soon every rookie just rose up 5 overall points where most of them are rated realistically (in terms of overall rating) and that would cause some people to gripe about how so many rookies are better than one specific group of veterans or another
  7. Lol, significantly flawed??? Because a guy runs faster than another guy, and makes a catch?

What do you expect them to do? Make the guy fall down? If you're playing against an opponent, and he makes that play on you, it's because you called the wrong coverage. Also, if your difficulty is set incorrectly, it makes things like that work to your advantage. If you set the difficulty appropriately, your QB will likely underthrow the ball, or the press coverage will slow the receiver down enough to negate his speed and give plenty of time for the defenders to shut him down. I've played each iteration of the game, and that kind of play works 1 out of 5 times, maybe, and that's with fairly lax difficulty settings.

People play video games primarily hoping to succeed or do well. Not everyone simply wants to play and get the crap kicked out of them on every down. It's a game, people generally want to win when they play it.

If they would fix all-madden mode, which they said they did, and get rid of the super-jumping linebackers and Walter Payton-like third string running backs then All-Madden would be playable for me but they literally make you lose on some games and thats the truth
  8. Its not exactly common knowledge or the away team would win the toss almost every single time...if it ever gets to the point where the away team wins every time AND the people actually notice, then i think a rule will be made about it.

  9. Or you got those Overall 68-75 WR's who's speed is 96-99 & Burns your Slot CB on a Fly Route to Score the Game-Winning Touchdown

But hey, that's Madden for you :dunno:

Denarius Moore! lol I loved playing (or trading in franchise) with the raiders because of him and run DMC

  10. Thats how Madden's rating system has always been...they prioritize the overall rating above all else and will decrease certain attributes to make sure an overall rating doesn't get too high. Where in reality a certain person's awareness, agility, or in many cases with lesser known players speed should be anywhere from a few points to about 10 points higher.

  11. I never understood why people place so much emphasis on championships when it comes to football. Of the three big sports in America, football is the most team oriented (imo), yet all this pressure is placed on the QB. Yes the QB needs to be the leader, game manager, or whatever you like, but with all the different variables that go into a Superbowl run, I just don't see how it can fall on one man's shoulders. When it comes to determining whether or not a QB is hall of fame worthy, Superbowl rings should be considered obviously but they should not make or break a hall of fame ballot. Even with two rings, Eli isn't there yet. Maybe after a couple more solid seasons but even still I don't know. The Hall of Fame should be something special and when I watch Eli its not the same as watching Peyton, Brady, LT, Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, or Darren Sharper (at least to me) just to name a few off the top of my head...there is no feeling like "man this guy is the real deal...I need to watch this guy." He is very good but he just doesn't feel like anything truly special.

  12. A lot of people would like this move, but I'm not for it. Mike Wallace is a speedster who can run the go route. We already brought in 2 speedsters in Avery and Hilton and they are both much cheaper than Wallace, who is asking for Fitz type of money while not being anywhere near a Fitz type receiver. I don't want to see us trade for him.

I remember having a little argument on my old profile with another person on here. It was about whether or not Hakeem Nicks (then a rookie getting ready to be drafted) would fit our system with Wayne already in place. The other user's argument was that we had already had a possesion-type receiver in Wayne and should look for more of a speedster have more of a balance and stretch the D. I agreed and went on to watch Nicks have a really good career so far in Giant's blue and I realized talent is talent. Whether or not you have other people with similar skill sets shouldn't really matter...who is to say any given defense can line up three guys to keep up with Avery, Wallace, and Hilton...let alone Fleener and Allen who should be physical mismatches for many LB's and some Safties.

  13. Ya, Fleener is 6' 6" and faster than half of the WR's in this draft. He is the unanimous top TE in the draft.

Does Indy have a "legitimate" TE on the roster? No. \

I want Indy to take the BPA, but to just blow Fleener off as "over rated" and not worth a top pick is silly.when TE is arguably the teams top position of need. TE or CB?

And a great pass rush is the "BEST PASS DEFENSE"

Compared to the other talent that would (or should) be available at 34 I'd personally rather pass on Fleener.
