  1. You would think a week removed from throwing his teammates under the bus that Hilton would show up the next game, as a leader of this team should.  Nope, just in time for Halloween he does another disappearing act.  Wonder who he's going to throw under the bus this week?

I disagree. Have you traveled to other stadiums? Colts fans rarely tell on defense. They cheer for big plays, but do not add much for the defenses home field advantage. To do so means yelling on D all game. Not only on third downs in a competitive game. I have been told by many Colts fans over the year to sit down and stop yelling on defense, they claim I ruin their experience..... this does not happen in majority of stadiums. Specifically teams that typically have good defenses have great fan participation. The games the fans get loud for is typically the pats, sometimes the Steelers. The RCA some has metal bleacher seats that would help add to the crowd noise. Now the fans are too comfortable and want to sit and watch like they are at home.

I never said the place is loud every moment that the D is on the field.  I also said that the crowd noise is related to the play on the field.  The D has given fans little to get excited about for years and years.  The north side of LOS has the aluminum stairs and I can hear the stomping from my seats on the south side of the stadium.  We could argue semantics back and forth until the cows come home.  If you have fans telling you to sit down maybe try moving to a different section.  We like to yell and have fun in section 124, come have fun with us.

I'm with you except for the comment about bad teams.  I don't think the Rams are a bad team.  We won't know for a couple weeks, but they look like a pretty complete team to me.  Balance on offense and a very good defense.

Not making excuses for the loss, we were pathetic.  I agree that we need to see where we go from here.  If there's marked improvement each week, or if the wheels continue to stay off.  There are so many areas to fix, we know it's not going to happen overnight or over six weeks.  My one hope is that Kelly gets back before Luck.

I'm with you on this one.  I didn't quite understand why so many were ready to chalk up a W even with Luck out against this team.  McVay has turned Cousins into a pretty solid QB and he's going to do the same with Goff.

That one was hard to digest. LOL.

I still cannot believe he even said that.

It kind of reminded me of the Vontae interview when he called Manning, by name of Brady. However, I didn't laugh as much this time.

Yep, big difference between winning a game against a really good team with a Colts legend at QB and getting obliterated by the Rams

Nice guys finish last. Irsay is responsible for Grigson who ultimately failed.

Of course i believe Irsay's Mentoring hands were all over the Disastrous Richardson, Werner moves. And likely more.

Now we can finish worse than my previous 6-10 prediction and draft us a STUD, or two, or three.
Keep Chuck as long as ya can Jimmy, and keep starting Painter, uh i mean Tolzien at least until our Great center gets back fully healthy, then Lucky can stand behind Your line. :omg:           Yeeehaaa Go Colts.

IDK, personally, I think Irsay learned from his run as GM and for the most part stays out of that part of it.  Irsay, I'm sure, gives the ultimate approval, but I think he would've let Grigson do anything he wanted especially coming off of his EOTY award in 2012.

All I can say is this team clearly still lacks enough talent to be a good team.

With that said he's not using the talent he does have to their best abilities and outside of Luck and maybe TY they don't show much signs of improvement under him.

There are also other flaws that have been discussed in the past including clock management, being prepared, lack of team discipline, not being aggressive enough, and not using challenges right, to have a very clear case that a change should be made.

I think Pagano was kept this season for either one three reasons or some combination of them:

    1.  Irsay didn't want to admit he got it completely wrong in 2012 in terms of hiring.

    2.  To give Pagano a chance to prove Grigson's micro management was the problem.

    3.  They didn't want to waste a rebuilding year on a new coach.

Maybe yes, maybe no.  Say the new coach or the new DC that gets hired by the new coach doesn't want to play a 3-4 D, and now you've spent a draft and FA period bringing in players that might not fit going back to a 4-3.

Now you've wasted this past "rebuilding year" in order to start from square one again in next years "rebuild"

Crowd noise hasn't been a factor for Colts home games since the left the Hoosier Dome. Trust me I'm there every week.

I am too, and I would argue that statement.  LOS can get rocking and super loud, but it goes hand in hand with the play on the field.  Sub par play and the crowd goes silent (other than the boos).  The play is good and the crowd is alive.  IDK, maybe my section is more into the games than some of the others.

Peyton's first game back was the loudest I've ever heard that place from start to finish, but to say that solely a venue change has taken crowd noise out is a false statement.

I think enough time has passed so that we don't have to keep him because he fought leukemia.  I understood when Arians was allowed to leave.   Would have been a PR nightmare if we would have kept Arians instead.

You'll get no arguments from me over this statement.

I really thought Irsay would let Ballard be the guy to pull the trigger on Pagano so he didn't have to be "mean" one.  I still can't get behind any logic that thinks Pagano staying on was a good decision for this team.

  9. I was floored when The Governor (Irsay) stayed Pagano's execution last season.  Everybody in that locker room knows he's a dead man walking, and their play reflects that.

He's a heck of a nice guy, and a good role model for somebody that is battling a serious illness (ie cancer), but him as a coach leaves a whole lot to be desired.

  10. 1 minute ago, Myles said:

I hope that doesn't happen.   Tolzien shouldn't shoulder much of this.   Everyone knew what to expect from him.   He has shown in all preseason.   Isn't this what we expected?   Had Pagano had the team ready to play.   Had Pagano not made a bone head rush play.   Had Pagano made sure to have low risk passes built into passing plays.   This team didn't have to lose like this.

    I totally get it.

It's not fair to Tolzien, he is who he is, and obviously he's not the guy that can keep this ship afloat until AL comes back.  But a lot of fans don't care about that.  They want to see a product on the field that is worthy of their, time, energy, and most importantly their money.  Tolzien will be run out of the building with boos the first mistake that he makes.  I think the fans may be a bit more forgiving to Brissett due to his newness to the team.  I also think Brissett may give the fans a glimmer of hope, because if anybody has any hope with Tolzien playing they need to take off those rose colored glasses.

  11. They got thoroughly dismantled by the Rams.....the L.A. Rams "Coach" Pagano.  The Colts came out completely unprepared in yet another game, and start another season with a loss....a very ugly one at that.

It'll be interesting to see the mood in LOS this Sunday.  I'm guessing the boo birds will be out early, especially if Tolzien is under center.

It's going to be a long long season.  Was going to be that way the moment Pagano was kept on.  The players know he's a dead man walking, and I sure didn't see much fight from them in L.A. to help his cause.

How did Seattle fans get away with throwing Skittles when Lynch scored?

Guess security was lax there, idk  All I know is every home game at LOS a video is played that says the throwing of any objects onto the field will result in ejection and possible loss of future ticket priveledges.

How about this Colts Nation, let's throw M&M's on the field every time this kid scores:). I apologize, the Marketing degree is talking!

Throwing anything on to the field will get you ejected from the stadium.  I would gladly eat some M&M's in his honor though

  14. I think Dorsett was a Grigson safety blanket pick in case they couldn't get a deal done with T.Y.  Now that we have two small speedsters, they (coaches/coordinators) seem to be struggling to find ways to utilize them together.  T.Y. has the benefit of more time spent with Luck, and Luck trusts him to make a play.  That trust, IMO, isn't there with Dorsett, so I don't think Luck goes to him or even looks his way really because of that.  You have seen Chester Rogers get targeted a lot more towards the end of the season as Luck has developed some rapport with him.

I've never been fond of the Dorsett pick as I felt it was Grigson overreaching for a player that really wasn't a need.  Sure, many on this forum have defended the pick as Grigson's BPA (which if he was who in their right mind was putting that board together?), or they use the Reggie Wayne example to continue to hold out hope that this kid is going to be something special.  I hope that he makes me eat my words because I want to see the success for the team, but I doubt it.  My expectations for year 3.....try like hell to make the 53, and then try like hell to not be one of the 7 inactives on game day every week.

I don't EVER want to see one of our guys intentionally injure anyone.  That's not good football.  Vengeance and dirty play only leads to more of it.  I would lose a lot of respect for that player.

Smashmouth football is cool, but just say "no" to intentional injuring someone.

    Just my opinion.

I second this.  If one of our players intentionally injured another player I hope Ballard shows him the door.

Having a mean streak if fine, being a goon is not.  These players have families and lives outside of a game that so many of us take way too seriously at times.

I wouldn't want an opposing player to intentionally hurt one of ours, so I sure don't want one of ours doing it to them.  Nobody should want that reputation, imo.

  16. Davis did have a down season last year, and injuries I'm sure played a part in that.  Also having zero pass rush didn't help anybody in the secondary.  I don't care how great of a CB you are, you can't be expected to cover a WR for forever, especially with all the various contact penalties that are so easy to get flagged for these days.

If the Colts can muster some pressure on the QB that will help Davis and our young secondary out tremendously.

As NCF mentioned, I think it will be more of an age/contract length issue and not a production issue that keeps Vontae from being re-signed, which is a bummer, because he's been the best CB we've had here in years.

  18. It's been quite a few years ago, but I was shopping at Costco and met Adam Vinatieri.  He looked just like any other guy walking around the store that day, and people were passing him without a clue who he was.  I went up and introduced myself.  He was super nice guy, I'm sure not a stretch of the imagination for anybody to believe.  He asked me where the coffee was, said his wife sent him out with the shopping list and he had no idea where anything was, lol.
