  1. You would think that but the players actually do get to select their own helmet style from among several that the NFL approves.

Now it's not like they can go on the internet and buy the helmet they like and have it painted with the team logo etc.  The NFL just has several styles they approve of and the players get to pick one.

Now as to how much difference the helmets do at preventing concussions is a completely different manner.  I would say if there is a difference between helmets it's probably minor.  I'm guessing most players select helmets based on either look or comfort.

Wes Welker being an exception, I agree.

  2. Any given Sunday.  To say the Pats are AFC Champions right now is premature.  They may be in that position when the time comes, but it's too early to say.  Plus, this is the NFL; you never know what could happen.  The Raiders beat the 49ers, and Carolina's defense held the Saints offense to just 10 points in the Superdome.

It is premature to anoint the Pats.  How premature are any threads that suggest the Indianapolils Colt?

  3. They really dominate the Unitas family. pssh they only had one guy in the nfl

Each player makes his own way. A few years back, the Manning fans were bragging about the "generations" of some imaginary Manning "dynasty".

  4. Not trying to be captain obvious here as I'm sure most agree. But its honestly stunning that with the amount of turnovers we have that we are still winning.

We have had what, nearly 20 turnovers the last 5 or so games they said during the broadcast? That's crazy. And most are fumbles.

If we hope to win it all this year we gotta clean that up.

How does one with the nom de plume "LuckIsAwesome" start this topic?

  5. Denver has only loss to the AFC west once since his arrival. Pretty impressive

But Denver has not won anything since they paid Manning.  Not at all impressive, especially when one takes into account his selfish play and total lack of #12 of Green Bay's total commitment to the cause.

  6. I guess the politically correct way to say "bat bleep" is high maintenance gold digger quick to throw a temper tantrum when she is denied something she feels she deserves.

Or put simply, just a person who gets frustrated very easily & they have a difficult time calming down with damaging property or hurting someone. I'm come across a few of them in my life. Not a pleasant experience.

No really, I want to know why bat bleep is crazier than horse, cow, dog or pig bleep.

  7.

    Fran Tarkenton

Well, I had to watch Sir Francis growing up in Chicago I had to watch NFC Central games and yes he could almost be comical avoiding defenses and some of his artful dodgery is classic but Wilson seems to do it at will as if he has six eyes.

I never liked the "Sir Francis" nickname, maybe because it was usually coming from the loudmouth Howard Cosell.

  8. The Jets have had a good run defense for quite a few years.  And losing guys like Revis has hurt his defense.  He needs CBs that can play on islands.  Pagano knows how to coach DBs, so combine that with Ryan's Xs and Os, his complex blitz scheme, and his ability to improve a team's run defense.  I think that can help us have a top 10 or even top 5 defense

I was just thinking about the sad history of the moves the Jets have made for QB:

    Brett Favre

    Mark Sanchez

    Tim Tebow

    Geno Smith

    Mike Vick

I know we're talking defense here, but this is a really bad track record.   At least it doesn't include Jamarcus Russell or Vince Young.

  9. I'm not sure why any woman would, that being said I know some couples who have been in very violent relationships and for some reason they always end up back together.  Both parties involved are very violent, it's a match made in the bowels of what one could imagine as the darkest underworld.  Both parties have physically abused each other, talking about broken bones, but for some reason they keep getting back together and no matter how many times we tell her to just drop it, they continue to get back together.  I think they've literally split up a dozen times, still both very physical, violent and the authorities have been called multiple times.

Love is sometimes a VERY terrible thing, especially if both parties are not very stable mentally.

Humphrey Bogart and Mayo Methot and a boat named Sluggy.  Stayed married for 7 years.
