  1. Alright! Another Philip Wheeler fan. I've liked him ever since Georgia Tech though hahah.

I wouldn't call his natural position OLB in a 3-4, but he could play well their. He can play well in a 4-3 at OLB, we just have to use him properly. Just look at what Von Miller did playing 4-3 OLB in Denver, he had 11.5 of sacks and played very well. I think that a quality defensive coach could get a whole lot more out of our players if he uses them correctly. Philip Wheeler should definitely blitz more, and I bet Pagano could help Jerry Hughes to become a better player. I still like Jerry Hughes.

I still want us to stay in a 4-3 base defense, but I'm not opposed to using a 1-gap 3-4 in specific situations. Whatever counters the opposing offense the best is what we should use.

I believe in Vic Fangio's old D he would have had an impact similar to Marcus Washington...maybe greater?

  2. wow. we completely disagree on both points. oh well.

and sure his name is mentioned. its that when most people talk about FS, they talk about 2 guys only. real analysts and players mention Bethea.

We don't have to agree...remember I stated my opinion, you chose to disagree. I like Nevis and think he has a future but isn't underrated imo. I would not have even stated that had you not felt it necessary to force your opinion on my choice ;)

Ed Reed and Troy P. get all the press and even Sanders gets more press than Boom Boom. Imo, none of them could switch to their other respective Safety positions and dominate but Bethea could :)

  3. Bethea is a concensus top 10 FS in the league, and some might even put him in the top 5. underrated he is not.

Ahhhhh yeah he is....his name is never mentioned with the likes of Troy P. and co and he is real close to being elite.

How is Nevis underrated? I watched him play and he looked like a rookie that has some potential, thats it?

  4. Thanks for taking the time to do this! I agree about Moala, Anderson and Wheeler and their signifigance in making the transition smoother. I believe they would all do well in the hybrid 3-4 Indy is planning on using as a base defense. I am not sold on Nevis at NT but I have been wrong many times before ;)

  5. This:

It’s a two-pronged thing,” Irsay claimed. “The first is if and when the nerve regenerates and whether it permits him to play at a high level. But I mostly desire Peyton to grasp the risk-rewards concerning playing. We wish to make sure he recognizes the long-term aspects of his health in making an attempt to play.”

Gives credence to a report I heard on the radio that Irsay is genuinely concerned about Manning's long term future and wants him to retire. Obviously from a PR standpoint, that's Irsay's best option but I do believe it's more than just that. Might be wrong, but that's my read of the situation.

I read it and have read it the same way for quite some time now...you are not alone ;)

  6. It's a general misconception that those of us supporting Peyton's return are against drafting his replacement.

    I had originally typed 1 - 2 years and changed it to 1 - 3 years...just wishful thinking...it wouldn't make sense for more than 2 years.

A similar misconception is being applied to those who want Indy to draft Luck... as if we are turning our backs on PM, which is ridiculous. His current deal is what most of us have the problem with and how it hamstrings the franchise.

  7. It's no mystery that the Colts will either be selecting Luck (99.9%) or RG3 (.01%)...I just can't buy into any of the reasons for not keeping Peyton for the next 1 - 3 years on a restructured contract and allow greatness to follow greatness. I'm not sure that an incentive laden contract is the route you want to take with Peyton, and all that he will be out to prove.

This is the first I have seen you post this scenario and is one most of us would agree with. A healthy Manning with restructured contract while Luck waits in the wings, Though, imo, it wouldn't work more than two years top.....

they need to look into it

Crennel's remarks came shortly after a report surfaced that Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli had met with Manning's agent, Tom Condon, to talk about the quarterback twice,

    though Pioli declined

to address the issue last week.

dont no if tru but if is need to do something if is

Pioli meeting with Condon and if Manning was discussed is tampering...Crennel's remark is according to the rules but meh.
