Good thing is we will know in a few hours.
I don't actually care if they give him that money, I just don't think they will or that hes reached that pay grade
If they do i wont be mad at all, I think its unlikely though.

Projected to have $56-$70m in cap next year, with his option already figured in.
Its not about how much the team has

We shouldn't be letting any good guys walk out the door is we can help it.
Declining the option doesnt mean they are letting him walk. It does happen often when the option is declined but 13.5 is a lot for him
I doubt they will pick it up today
-
Its not an easy call, I would lean towards no. I want him back but 13.5 guaranteed is a little steep for him.
Edit- the more i think about it the more i doubt the team will do it. The option would pay him more in one year than hes made in his career.

I dont 100% disagree, and respectfully,
There IS an economy in running a zone defense that the Colts run
Some teams go with man-to-man corners on an island
This allows you to blitz more often, keeping the QB guessing.
Its a BEAUTIFUL thing when you have the right TWO man-to-man CBs. They are harder to find, and are MUCH more expensive than a decent zone CB
THIS defense uses front 4 pressure (supposedly ) to shorten the time for the QB to find an open receiver
We use our money and priority draft picks on DL to support this defense.
THIS is the defense that we play
You can get by with a CB (less expensive) that can zone cover, and can tackle, that wouldn't survive in a man-to-man scheme
A 4.5 40 is fast enough for this scheme, but they DO have to tackle
IMHO, in this defense, you need pressure from the DL and a solid FS, to "erase" the coverage mistakes from CBs
I do have some concerns with our LBs in coverage as we didnt seem to keep up with crossers, RB releases, and TEs
We will see how it plays out, but I truly hope that we take a swing at a FA FS
I hear you but most of the league runs zones more than man now and we still have one of the weaker groups of CBs. That info from pff a couple years ago

Then leave.
I didnt say I was leaving the forum, you have bad reading comprehension. I wouldnt be mad if CB got fired, thats what those words mean. I can take another year of him too. I can also make a complaint on the forum if I want.

They may be “just guys” to you, but it would appear for now Brents is Ballard’s CB1. He used pick 44 to draft Brents, so CB clearly sees a better player than you do.I know and I dont care. We have not won much under him either tbh. I can disagree with a gm and its not like his record here is that great
I could take or leave Chris Ballard at this point
-
Personally I think even with Flowers and Brents we still have one of the worst CB groups in the league.
They are both just guys

I think vast majority of franchises take potential elite pass rusher over a good defensive back.
They might but we were like 4th in sacks and have one of the worst secondaries in the league

He will compete with Slovis and Bean for a spot this year

I think it’s going to be extremely hard for an undrafted free agent to make the final roster this year unless they just find a gem.
A corner or safety could do it

I guess the irony in my comment is he did the same thing to CB that fans did to him, which is trash them on twitter.
Social media got in his head and it hurt his public image. Should have deleted twitter
I think the other part of his comment is fair though, hes looking out for his health

Didn’t he trash his former team before us too?
He used to fight with lions fans on twitter, I never heard him say anything about the team but he might have.
He fought back against trolling fans on twitter which he shouldnt have done but twitter was more in the wrong than him. Fans shouldnt use twitter as a license to talk endless trash directly to the player.

Colts still have one draft pick but how are we feeling about Ballard now
Nothing has changed for me. I wasnt a big hater before but I could have taken or left him too. Hes gotten the benefit of the doubt for a long time, its time to win something. Its not about today

Read what he said and its actually not that bad or out of line. Calling him the "worst gm ever" is immature for sure but he might have a good reason to be upset too.
Teams and players sometimes disagree about how to handle injuries. He was thinking about his future while CB wanted to win now. I dont have a problem with this

I understand having more weapons on offense is always good but in reality would we drafting for our 4th wr? because 1-3 is basically set and indy has bigger needs on defense
If they wont be at least second we wont take them with that pick. There are a few in the class that could be better than Pittman but they may not last to 15

Just a friendly reminder to everybody who will be singing Ballards praises after tonight and tomorrow. He’s been here 9 years and hasn’t won a crap division once.
We should all live in negativity all the time tbh

I'd be willing to draft a CB pretty high. #1 overall might be a stretch but I could do third or so.
If it were Deion sanders and I needed a corner I'd be ok with first. Of course he played offense and sp teams too

Said he's hearing "we need speed, we need speed" from the Colts
Weird comment when we have one of the fastest QBs and maybe the fastest RB in the league.
We dont seem to have a 4.3 WR on the team but Pierce and Downs are probably low 4.4

Sean McVay started out as an analyst
He's been asked and said hes never touched Madden. I dont think i can buy that someone will credit Madden as any significant reason for landing a head coaching job. Not something a billionaire would bring up in an interview.

Billionaire owners get on social media and pay attention to trends more than you think.
Madden players on rare occasions get hired to help work on Madden itself. They dont get hired onto teams and if they did it would be low level. I play Madden myself, enough to know that it doesnt teach you how to actually be a coach. Not even close.
If a madden expert ever made it that far in the league it wouldnt be because they played madden.

This is a joke lol. Former college players are not the same as madden players
Madden will have nothing to do with anyone ever becoming an nfl head coach. There might be some who have played it but it will never be why they got a job

They will give him on opportunity to work his way up because of the qualification of being a famous top Madden player.
They would be lucky to get any job at all in an nfl office. They will never make head coach, ever
Madden doesnt have that kind of influence with billionaire owners, nor should it.
