    ...yet.

There's a lot of emotions left on @Lennon1940's part to call this thing over...

Nah, I'm over it. Not much point in pumping up a PS quarterback is there. It's out of my system...unless he's ever put on the 53. Then i'll be back to being as insufferable as I've been the past few weeks.

We might can still win the division with JB and then we'll see what happens in the playoffs.

Enjoy being complacent and continue making excuses for our boring, mediocre QB's subpar performances as the season moves on. This forum is clearly an echo chamber.

Yet you didn't become a member until August of this year and 100% of your posts are about the third string qb

I guess I should go talk about our linebackers or something. QB is what matters, especially now that No. 12 is gone.

    But Chad Kelly does.

He has a better chance of winning games as a starter than JB does. He's the better quarterback on the field. Kelly has beaten the absolute hell out of people everywhere he's gotten on the field as the starter. Led his team to the JUCO National Championship, led crappy Ole Miss to a Sugar Bowl win and twice beat the No.1 ranked team in the country. JB hasn't done anything except be at the right place at the right time twice in the NFL and be a mediocre college QB.

But ya, there's no way Chad Kelly, the guy who has the highest score EVER recorded by SportsScience, beating out guys like Brees, Mahomes, Goff, etc., could be a better QB than Jacoby "I've only ever had three 300+ yard games after the age of 18" Brissett.

No GM in the NFL wanted this guy.

How do you know that? The FO set it up so that teams were already set before Kelly hit the wire. You think the Steelers would have still chosen Lynch if Kelly were available on the waiver wire? hahahahah no freaking way. Lynch is an aggressively awful QB.

For all the people bad mouthing JB

For the record, I'm not bad mouthing JB as a human being. He's obviously a great leader and teammate and is a good citizen and I'm the one who said that he's smart, which started all this.

I just think he has no business being the starting QB of a playoff contender.

Just read this last page. The Kelly Fan Club can continue to dream. They were “this” close to abandoning the Colt’s ship though...  Now they can continue to pretend to be Colt’s fans while calling for Kelly to be given the QB1 job.  I bet if CK had gone to Pittsburgh & won the job they would have cheered for the Steelers over the Colts...

Pretend Colts fan? Because I have an extremely strong opinion that Kelly is a better QB than JB?

Dude I'm from Zionsville. Get over yourself.

They were like he is the best QB since Joe Montana

    Now they're like.

    PeacefulFlakyCottontail-size_restricted.

    Joe Montana?

I’ve said I think he’s a better quarterback than JB, not better than any other starting QB in the league. I will still maintain that opinion. JB has never kicked anyone’s butt by himself at any level except high school probably.

Kelly has the more elite skill set and the higher ceiling. I’m still unclear how some of you fail to see that. JB is a better leader, better person, and is seemingly much smarter, which is why he and Kelly are sitting where they are right now.

JB isn’t the answer. By god I wish he was because that means we’d be dominating. But he just isn’t.  Eventually when teams start stacking the box against us and dare our mediocre QB to beat them through the air, JB being unable to impose his will on defenses is going to kill us.

So the entire NFL looked at this guy and thought, "No, it wouldn't be worth signing him for literally zero." If I'm the Saints, Steelers, Jets, Jags, etc, I'm jumping all over this guy. Who the hell is the Jets qb now anyway?

Oh well, better for us I guess

Or perhaps the NFL teams who needed QB’s on the waiver wire already got theirs before Wednesday afternoon when Kelly was put on the wire?

    And thank god they did.

Which puts him right up there with the other pre season QB leaders:

Ryan Griffin, Jarrett Stidham, Joe Webb III, Tyler Bray, Logan Woodside, Trace McSorley, Mike Glennon, Nathan Peterman, and on and on.

I like Kelly. I hope we keep him. But to quote pre season stats is not the right argument.

I was simply refuting someone’s statement that his preseason stats weren’t great.

I don’t need preseason stats to back up my belief that he’s legit, so you’re correct, that wouldn’t be the right argument in his favor.

but no NFL team thought he was worth even a 7th round pick.

Well maybe if he had been first in all of those categories...

His attitude and past are his detriment, not his playing ability. The FO was also clever enough to not place him on waivers until most teams had already set their rosters for the week. You really think the Steelers would have still picked Paxton Lynch over Kelly if Kelly had been on the waiver wire at the time? No way in hell. Lynch is abysmal beyond measure.

I'm sure we don't know everything, but teams (including the Colts) don't feel he is as good as he looked in a couple preseason games against 3rd stringers.  Stat-wise he really didn't have a great preseason.

He had THE highest completion percentage of any QB in the preseason minimum 40 attempts at 74.0%

Tied for the 3rd most TD's this preseason

He had the 4th most total yards of any player this preseason

He had the 5th most 1st downs this preseason

He had the 10th highest QBR minimum 40 attempts this preseason

There are many players on teams that have done worse but it is overlooked because of their talent.

Were those players QB's though? You can hide a talented DE who is a thug with a troubled past. You can't hide a QB from the media spotlight though.

  14. 48 minutes ago, Myles said:

Every coach and GM in the NFL disagrees with you.

And that has very little, if anything, to do with talent or football skill. Teams simply can’t trust him at this point. You can’t have someone untrustworthy off the field as your QB. I’m obviously an enormous Kelly homer but I understand that’s the reality of what he’s facing.

He can absolutely ball. Anyone who watches football can watch the guy lead an offense and see what he’s capable of. He’s been an outstanding QB at every level that he’s ever been able to get on the field. Balled out in high school, JUCO, college, and preseason NFL.

Teams just can’t trust a guy with his history and it’s understandable.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Brissett has ever had a 300 yard game. We have the exact opposite problem now, used to be Luck and a garbage team to a solid team and no QB. Either way, it'll be impossible to beat KC and NE.

He has had two, thanks to a 63 yd Hilton catch in one game and another 80 yard Hilton catch in another. He only ever had 1 in college. He's many things, but a prolific passer he is most certainly not.

You can never compare different generations

He was the 1st Baseman of the 40s and 50s not to mention his Managerial career

I know of three communities and a multiple fan bases that beg to differ on him

Actually you can compare different generations using WAR. His 44.8 WAR would by far and away be the lowest for a HOF first baseman. Perez is currently the lowest with 54.0.

None of his Top 10 similarity scores are HOFers either.
