  1. We pulled Kelly up for this game, correct? I know this would've been "controversial", but I am disappointed that we didn't see him this game. I was sure that we had no choice but to bring him in second half. The game wasn't too far gone by that point and Hoyer was -- bad. Did he (Kelly) not show enough in the pre-season to inspire the confidence that he could beat the 1-7 Miami Dolphins? I mean Hoyer was just throwing that thing anywhere. I don't get why we didn't make the switch, it was pretty clear we weren't winning with Hoyer.

  2. At this point, when it comes to predicting how we will perform any given week, I don't apply ANY type of logic or statistics anymore, I just flip a coin haha. We're either going to play good or bad, and I'm not sure the opposition has any to do with that. I feel a dominant display coming. 27-17?

What I will say though: even with our erratic play, I have been very proud of the heart we're showing late in games. This is so different from the teams in the past that we saw just completely drop the ball late in games. Culture change!

  3. Man, all this "he's throwing the ball too hard" has got to stop. Like, c'mon now. As a former WR, that's B.S. At the NFL level, if it hits your hands... it should be a reception. Period. Let's not make excuses.. as much as I love Eb and his knack for making big plays, he has a mental issue: when he drops, he let's it get to his head. He can't overcome it.

So far, I like what I've seen from Brissett. His numbers have been up and down (week 1 due to coaching. Not BAD coaching.. but due to coaching), but he has shown me that he is TOUGH. His fourth quarter against the Chargers. I loved it. Even when everything was going to % around him against Oakland, you could just see that he didn't get rattled. I've been watching closely in certain situations to see if he'll crumble, and he does not. The fact that some of you are calling for Chad Kelly already is amazing haha.

  4. I think JB plays well @ Arrowhead. I don't think he was bad last week aside from the INT (that was bad). I saw a player that did not crumble when it was going to % around him. I see a lot of people saying he was throwing too hard, but as a former WR... B.S... not an excuse. He was putting those balls on the money, none of the drops were his fault. Eb is a big time player but he's not the most mentally strong, when he drops one, it gets in his head.

  5. I'm a little surprised at how small a percentage thinks it COULD be close. You guys know its never black and white. What IF our offense (with T.Y) comes out playing like the ATL game? It COULD be close. I think (hope... it's possible) we'll go down swinging. I could see a 38-31 game with Maniac and T.Y going.

  6. Man, after years of Grigson and Pagano (hate to include him, as I liked him as a man.. but less as a coach) it feels SO good to have a pair you trust in. You know when Ballard speaks, you know he knows what he's talking about. I was so relaxed during the draft, I knew I wouldn't question ANY move Ballard made, no matter who I wanted or what my mock said. We're building a machine, and we're moving way faster than Ballard himself expected. We're a top 4 team in the NFL right now. Chiefs & Pats (I hope) are trending DOWN as we trend UPWARDS. I haven't been this excited in a while.

So what are you guys thinking the chances of trading up for “our guy” is? NYJ has come out & said they’re willing to trade. I could see Ballard considering it. Do you guys think giving up or first second would be worth say.. Q.Williams?

(I’m sure this has already been asked. Didn’t feel like looking, sorry haha)

And I’m hoping there’s no rule that says you can’t trade a pick back to a team that you acquired it from, because this could get embarrassing.

Why is everyone Ok to add a WR in the draft when we already did that last yr?   We have Caine he is like a free draft pick this yr because he never played last yr.   Yes he has to prove himself but not anymore or less than drafting a WR.

I really don't get the thinking on here

Cain is coming off a significant injury so there are still question marks there. Fountain failed to edge himself into the rotation when I think he should've been able to (if he's the difference maker we need.) The JAX & KC games revealed to me just how much we do need another decisive wideout. In those games, it would be easy to conclude that Luck had a stinker, but it was really just a lack of separation. I mean that Jags game was just painful to watch, the routes those guys are running are obviously off screen, but I could just TELL that play after play, they were failing to threaten that (admittedly very good) secondary. We cannot overlook this need. I don't even think there is that much separating the need for DLine & that of WR. We have to select one with one of our first 3 picks, even after acquiring Funchess.

Andrew Luck was bad that game too. So was our entire elite offensive line.

In fact, the few players that DID play good, were Ballards FA and draft gems. Autry, Moore, Leonard, heck even Najee Goode made plays that game.

It's so easy to watch that game (against KC) and conclude that Luck had a stinker. That game was way more on the receiving corps than Andrew. Our two worst games of the season: JAX & KC, were our worst because the lack of dynamism in that group; they could get no separation. I don't think we can afford to not take a WR w/ one of our first 3 picks (even with Funchess and Cain returning)

I got to the end of this response before realizing that this has nothing to do with this thread :sorry:. Just caught my attention.

  10. I don't think it's crazy that some are disappointed. I, personally, am not utterly disappointed, but I'm also a little *sigh* watching guys like Flowers & Collins (who would fit in) get signed. We have 0 room to distrust Ballard as he hit last off-season completely out the ballpark without signing a big name. I understand he's sticking to his guns and building through the draft and not overvaluing, but I mean.. we have a lot of money.. and I feel like we are very close. I feel like it would be outright irresponsible to not lock down at least one position of need through FA & address the rest in the draft. I am a little *sigh* as previously stated, but seriously I couldn't trust this guy more. Slightly conflicted.
