Me too. Interesting enough the only time I saw Reich and Ballard sitting together at the combine on TV was when the Safeties were running the 40. Every other time they showed Reich, he was by himself.

Also, I noticed that after Abram ran his 40, Ballard picked up his phone and texted somebody.

Could mean something, could be conspiracy theory gibberish that's only in my head.

Abram would definitely be a good option for us either at 26 or 34.

I don't think Jacobs is so good that with Mack in the fold we'd still draft him.

Hockenson I'd be fine with and if he falls to 26 I'd guess he'll be drafted.

My fantasy is that we trade out of 26 and get back-to-back picks at 34 & 35... Going all Mississippi State with Jeffery Simmons and Jonathan Abrams.  It is conceivable they'd both be there

Exactly. If Jacobs was a Barkley or a Fournette I think yes absolutely you grab him. But I don't believe he is.

Unless someone like Burns, Sweat or Wilkins drops to us, I'd be more than happy to trade back. So much value in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

Eagles traded #32 and #132 to Ravens for #52, #125 and their 2nd this year. I'd be pretty happy with something similar but a bit higher.

If Giants skip QB at 6, we could trade them #26 and #130 for #37, #109 and 2020 2nd which would still likely be quite high... But now I'm opening a can of worms haha

I wonder why so much hype for Jacobs? He wasn't even the starter on his own team was he?

I dont think there is a huge amount of hype for his talent. Just that he is easily the best RB in this years draft and there are some RB needy teams.

Yep... I like to call my draft strategy Best Value Available and it incorporates both my evaluation of the players and a positional value element. The positional value element is where the most RBs suffer the biggest hit in my evaluation. I just don't value the position much and that's why they usually drop significantly in my evaluation even if I think that purely football wise they are great players. Just an example - last year I had Barkley as my best player in the draft, but after positional value deduction he ended up no. 11 on my board.

And with that said... yeah. If the players rank as BVA on my board even if they are RB or TE, I would pick them. Hockenson would almost certainly be worthy of a pick at 26(I'm not finished with my film watching and evaluations yet), but I doubt Jacobs will be.

Precisely. I can see the Raiders grabbing him in rd 1. Their value for him is a lot higher. What if he fell to the jets in the 3rd? Are you grabbing him? Still no, because his value to them is still basically 0.

  4. Just looking at top remaining FA...

Justin Houston - not a perfect fit for our scheme but would be a good mentor and is a bloody good player.
Ndamukong Suh - Still my top remaining target. Donald credited Suh with taking a lot of pressure and allowing him to get to the QB.
Morris Claiborne - Think we could get him on a cheap one or two year deal. 29 years old. Has impressed in previous years. 14 passes broken up last year.
Jamie Collins - Similar to Ebron/Funchess -  a high draft pick that hasn't quite panned out. Played well at times for both Patriots and Browns.
Bashaud Breeland - Other than last year, has been durable. Was coming off a career year in 2017. Last contract with Packers was on the NFL Vet minimum.

I think these are all guys we could get for relatively cheap and would make a good difference to our team for this year and maybe the next aswell.

  5. 26 Christian Wilkins, IDL Clemson

34 Amani Oruwariye, CB Penn State
59 Parris Campbell, WR Ohio State

    89 Amani Hooker, S Iowa

    129 Elijah Holyfield, RB Georgia

    135 Jalen Jelks, EDGE Oregon

164 Terrill Hanks, LB New Mexico State

199 Isaiah Prince, OT Ohio State

240 Jon Baker, IOL Boston College

Pretty happy with that! Really like Jelks there, not sure if he'd last that long but can definitely see all the others being available. Or maybe thats just my Horseshoe Bias.
