I will say this. I think if we double down on pass catchers early in the draft next week I think we are a contender. After all this played out he was actually lucky and aggressive this offseason. Now the key will be to help the offense in the draft and not start the season slow. It’s going to be hard to catch back up with a loaded AFC. I think the colts being so close is a big reason no one is super excited for the draft. We don’t need a lot. I also can’t tell you how huge it was that Eberflus got that head coaching job. The moves we made on defense would not of happened with Eberflus. Bradley’s defense is going to be so much more nuanced. It’s going to be so nice to see our edge players just attack and go after the QB.

It move up for a QB if we add one more WR before draft of right after. That could be Hilton or Landry.

I don’t need Ballard to over pay for FA. But paying a difference maker of two in FA market value that will make this team better should could at least be done. You can’t find everything in the draft. No we aren’t going to find difference makers when players get cut from other teams. You have to find them them from FA up until the draft. After that point your not finding any.

I never said the best offer. I said we had one of the best offers. Meaning we are competitive.

This is exactly right. We aren’t talking about over paying for mediocre players. We are talking about adding a player of two that are difference makers.

Well according to sources they believe he is a perfect fit for Bradley’s system.

I am listening to a Twitter spaces podcast from the guy from the Indy star and one of the guys from the Blue Stable. I agree with the guy from the blue stable. Why is Ballard so cheap and unwilling to pay a difference maker 5 million more. That is why the Tyrann stuff confuses him. Its one thing to not overlay a mediocre vet but if the guy is a difference maker pay them a little bit more.

The problem is you can’t solve everything through the draft. Sometimes you have to pay players outside the organization to get a team over the hump.

We can go find goods guards.

Or he wanted to go home. He is from MN. Probably also guaranteed a starting job.

We will add someone. Question is will it be another 6th round pick or higher. We will probably at least add Hilton or another WR in FA yet.

I had forgot about Coutee still being on the roster. I do think he can provide some of that but we need better.

Rumor is we had a deal with Ju Ju when it looked like Watson was going to Falcons. Because Ryan would of been a colt. When Watson changed his mind so did Ju Ju. He could of held out a little longer to see who the colts QB was but he had a chance to go to the chiefs. The QB situation taking longer then expected screwed everything up.

It’s going to be fun to see what this roster looks like after the draft in a month. Colts gave away their 3rd rounder for Ryan so actually have moved up in the second and third rounds. This roster is going to look a lot different after the draft is over and we finish FA.

Hopefully the QB is taken care of today and we get more FA to sign here.

I think Ballard is a good talent evaluator. That’s why he usually drafts pretty well. But a good talent evaluator doesn’t make you a good GM. You have to work fast when your a GM. You can’t take forever to make decisions and mul over everything. Ballard should probably be a scout not a GM.

Colts have a lot of players to sign yet to even fill out their roster. They had 28 free agents. Hopefully next week we see more movement.

Joel Erickson said that he was told Fisher isn’t happening. I guess Fisher could change his mind if he can’t get a job anywhere else.

The good news is there are still a lot of good FA out there if colts can get this QB solved. Free agency has moved very slow this year.
