I was under the impression that players trying to make a team would have better things to do like learning the playbook instead of drawing attention to themselves. But in this day of social media I guess I am wrong.

I have a slight problem with the "look" at me attitude.

JJ Watt is already an established player so using him as an example don't correlate to a player who has yet made a team.

It is possible to enjoy yourself AND be a professional at the same time you know. One does not have to cancel out the other.

So you guys that look at this pessimistically and always want to "remind" people that the draft is a crap shoot must be the same type that sees a pretty woman and thinks why bother.....she'll say no, or even if she did say yes the chances are so slim that things won't work out that I won't bother.....

I'm not proclaiming this dude will be an All Pro, I'm pointing out he has a great opportunity to make a difference for our Colts...

Your first paragraph is way out there in terms of relevance. And I'm sorry but we are looking at it realistically, not pessimistically. It's realistic because as much as I want him to work out for us, NFL chances have proven to be slim.

At a 50/50 clip.....I'll take our loss on Josh Ferguson and our win on Hines....

I wasn't talking about just our team. I meant the whole league. If it was a league-wide 50/50 clip there'd be 16 teams with a Sproles/Woodhead type. Which there isn't. Huge changes are Hines will fade into a below average RB. And that isn't a knock on him, it's just how the NFL is.

I'm not going out of my way to show anyone anything if you can't even acknowledge the parallels....

I believe what I believe....and I look forward to it unfolding on Sunday's this fall.

I hope you're right. But for every Sproles and Woodhead type player etc, there are similar player(s) with similar skills basically coming out of the draft every year that never turn out to be anything. Hines can be something great or, as the game of averages goes....someone cut after a few uneventful years.

It's amazing how you know that Hines won't be a match up problem without ever seeing him play for the Colts.

Its amazing how same say Hines will be a matchup problem without ever seeing him play in the NFL. Can go both ways.

You responded to a post mentioning the offense with TY, Mack and Hines. You also wrote "underacheiver" and "unknowns". So even though you just edited the rather negative end of your post aimed at me, I have read the whole thread. I simply dont agree with you that about the "players" (plural is what you wrote in).

"Relative unknowns" - Mack and the rookies. "Career underachiever" - Ebron. That is what I meant. Its true I did edit it. I'd rather try to explain myself than simply retort negatively.

your statement would only make more sense if we didn't have a new head coach. Because under pags i would totally agree with u

I'm sure my statement makes sense either way. TY is the only playmaker. The rest are relatively unknowns and a career underachiever.

Mack and Hines on the field in split shotgun with TY in the slot and ebron running up the seam is gonna be a nightmare for defenses to cover. That is too much speed.

I feel like every year we get hyped about our players and think of scenarios that would be a nightmare for defenses to cover. And then nothing ever happens. I don't see this year being any different. TY is literally the only player you mentioned that is a match-up nightmare. No one else.

    @Calmack why are you confused

I imagine if swoope had as many targets and chances as Ebron did in Detroit he'd perform on par or better than Ebron did in Detroit. Ebron has a bad case of the dropsies and effort problems. I don't see him lasting more than 1 year here.

All you need to know from one game?  Also, a lot of hyperbole with "literally everything he did was flat out bad."  If anything, that video showed that the Dline was not good that game.  Miami really looked like they pushed the Syracuse Dline around.

Did nothing to get off blocks, seemed to give up once the play got past him, did not contest any catches that were thrown in his coverage. Yeah, the d line stunk it up, but so did he.
