If a deal was imminent for Ramsey why would the Jaguars play him tonight?  If I was the acquiring team I certainly wouldn't want him out there.  Now he could be inactive tonight and that will answer the question.  But putting him out there is a huge risk.  Acquiring Ramsey might not be that easy.  The big fly in the ointment is his contract not just the asking price.  Whoever acquires him would want to sign him to a new deal that would most likely make him the highest paid CB according to the articles I have been reading.  Otherwise he has the leverage going forward.  So now you have the Jaguars asking price and his new team has to deal with a big contract.  That's a lot of messaging to do.  Quickly looking at the teams being mentioned the Seahawks have very little cap space like 9M.  The Eagles and Chiefs have around the same at 23M but both have franchise QB's they need to sign sooner rather than later.  The Cowboys have 23M but they still have Dak and Amari to deal with and not to mention Byron Jones who will also be expensive.   Most teams are pretty good with cap mgmt but you have to plan ahead if you want to keep your core players.  And of course the cost of the draft picks in acquiring him effects your future talent acquisition.  It's a tough balancing act.  As far as the Colts go we would have no problem signing him to a new contract.  Rock would be one CB and although Desir is a nice player he is no Ramsey and he's older I believe.  Now I don't think Ballard would give up two 1's.  For that matter I don't think the other teams would either.  So if his report is accurate that we have been calling around on CB's, he probably knows we inquired about Minkeh since he's from Miami, it stands to reason we have probably called on Ramsey.  So here we are waiting for something.  If I were the Chiefs or Eagles and they had a deal in place there is no reason to let him play tonight.  Just do the deal today.   IMO there is no deal in place yet and if Ballard is truly interested he could still be in active negotiations.  We are in a position to give him the big contract.  That's what could be taking the time.   The draft compensation might not be the hangup.  The other teams being mentioned are considered SB contenders. We are not.  So to the Jags our 1st rd pick would be more valuable.  It's a long shot but if there is any truth to his report that he knows we have been making calls on CB's than his report mentioning the Colts as a potential landing spot has just as much of a chance as happening as the others.  Maybe more so.

Gee that looks intimidating, but I'll read it.

  2. I usually like to defer the ball at the coin toss, but it would be nice to get a TD right off the bat against a team like the Falcons.

Considering it will be Julio Jones, Sanu, and Calvin Ridley vs Moore, Wilson, and Rock it might turn into a shootout(or at least them shooting us up, we'll just have to keep up) and I don't know if Obi Wan Jacoby is going to be able to handle having to score every drive.

Anything on Day 1 and Day 2 of the draft is taboo for getting him, IMO. 4th rounder at best.

How about a 5th rounder and Chad Kelly in return for Jamal Adams?

Jamaal Adams is 23 and he is one of the best safeties in the league. It's gonna take a lot more than a day 3 pick and a backup QB to get him.

They'll be asking for a 1st rounder, and I think that makes sense.

He made 2 nice plays in a row. Looks to be a solid late pick. Hope he develops

Geathers struggled on the long TD Drive and then I saw Willis getting more and more reps.  I think Willis is slowly taking his job.

I feel like he is gonna be our next S along side Hooker. Any time you see CB trade 2 4th rounders to move up a few spots( 15 I think ) he's gonna be a good player.

Anyone notice Willis getting extended playing time today? I saw him come up and make a few nice tackles. Seemed to be splitting reps with Geathers.

He made a very nice tackle on Henry to stop what could have been a TD.

As of this writing, Mariota is healthy.  We'll see if he stays that way.

Derrick Henry was overrated until the last 5 games of last year.  The Titans nearly traded him.  As has been widely reported, Titans legend Eddie George gave him a "talking to".  Now the man is...well, The Man.

Taylor Lewan is arguably the best LT playing....too bad you won't see him right now due to him being stupid with supplements.

Jeffrey Simmons had an off-the-field assault early in his college career.  He knows that the organization won't tolerate another one.  But that is a guy to watch out for when he comes off of IR later this year.

Kevin Byard would be coveted by just about every team in this league which is why the Titans locked him up with a long term contract before this season (his third).  He's a ball hawk....do not throw in his direction.  He co-led the league in INTs his rookie year.  He already had the 1st INT of the season last week.

Dion Lewis is small and shifty but not that kind of a talent.

AJ Brown made his debut with a 3 catch/100 yd performance, much of that yardage after the catch.  Watch out for him.

I probably would want Jeffery Simmons. And Kevin Byard, again we already have Malik Hooker, so I wouldn't want him.

This is a completely different MIA team, last 4 years they've been a solid team. Where as now, they are one of the worst football rosters I've seen in a long time, not as bad as the 2017 browns, but I think coaching had a lot to do with going 0-16( they're roster wasn't too bad ), and I think MIA has a good to sub par coaching staff.

Henry is better than Mack Darius is better than what they have as is TY.  As much as I think Mariota is not very good  JB is not much better but I’d take JB

You need to work on your grammar, but JB has a high ceiling where as Mariota hit his and is now become one of the worst starting QBs in the NFL, in my opinion. As well as Henry is not consistent at all. One game he'll put up 150 yards and the next he'll have 2.6 YPC.

Jimmy has better career numbers than Brissett.

A career 96 rating vs Brissetts career 83 rating.

At this point in Brissetts career, I think 24th is about right.   We should see it climb to around 15 this season.

Personally, if not for his injury history, I'd take Jimmy G over Brissett.

Jacoby throws a lot more accurate passes. I don't even think Jimmy G is the best QB on his team.

    Worthy of consideration.

We already have the most expensive slot cb in the league, we don't need another. So I don't feel as though giving up maybe a 1st or second is worth having a guy who would be a good CB1 or CB2( not a great one ).

I would love to trade for him but it doesn't seem very practical. It would be worth it if we didn't have Moore.

Hes a Colt type player. Probably would be a CB on this team considering we are needing more corners who can play man along with zone responsibilities. Its a plus that he can play SS also.

He would be as good as clayton geathers at SS. Not saying their play is the same, just the talent at that certain position.

Then you seriously, like seriously, are wearing Colts colored glasses. Jurrell Casey? Derrick Henry? Taylor Lewan? Jeffery Simmons? Kevin Byard? Dion Lewis?

Jurrell casey isn't a scheme fit

Derrick Henry is wayyyy too overated( Dude had only a few good games last year)

Taylor lewan we don't need another lineman at the price he would cost

Jeffery Simmons is an off the field concern

Kevin Byard is getting old and we already have players at his position

Dion Lewis isn't that great to begin with

    I would want AJ Brown

Part of the problem Minkah has with the Dolphins is that they're using him as a SS. I don't think we'd want to move Malik into the box, and we have Kenny manning the slot. Not sure where Minkah would fit in, starter-wise, on our team.

Though if I remember correctly, during his draft process people RAVED about his character and leadership, so that would definitely fit into the locker room.

I don't see us making a move. Especially if Miami is trying to ask for a 1st rounder.

I think Minkah could play any position in the secondary.
