  1. Ive been to 5 different cities to watch colts play away games. All have been great experiences except Gillette stadium. Ive been to 3 Colts /Patriots games there and I wont be going back. I see alot of posters saying thats not the case but from my experiences it absolutley is. That place is the toiletbowl of the nfl as far as im concerned. Ive sat in several great spots there and drunken fans have taunted my friends n my family so bad its ridiculous. The last time we went they started taunting my wife. After the 3rd time they threw beer on her I took matters into my own hands. Thats all I will say about that. We had to leave quickly to keep from getting into any trouble but no one assaults my wife who wasnt saying a word, just trying to watch a football game. We now travel to tenn and and jacksonville every season. Fans there are way more respectful. Gillette stadium ...not so much.

Hello everyone-- first let me say that we had a fantastic season. We reclaimed the division and witnessed the second greatest comeback in playoff history! Our future is bright, and after the sting of the oss we can only hold our heads up and smile.

Living in New York state and being an avid Colts fan, I was able to make it to the game with my parents. It was a 5 and a half hour car ride, but with the Colts being so close, it had to happen. I am in the process of joining the military, and don't know how many more opportunities I will have to go to games with my family.

I had been to 2 games prior to last night (the Buffalo game last season and the Denver game this season) so I wasn't new to a "live game" experience. I knew that going to Foxboro for a playoff game would be rough, especially with the rivalry between our ball clubs, but I didn't imagine how bad it could (and would) be.

Our seats were up in the nosebleeds, but I was just happy to be there in the flesh. When we first arrived at the stadium, there were playful little jibes here and there from Patriot fans but they were friendly for the most part. However, the people around me and my parents were absolutely brutal. Stumbling around drunk before the opening kickoff, scream obscenities, spilling beer on my arm (I was seated at the base of a staircase and at the end of the row), shouting in my ear, throwing cups.... it was horrendous. There were some older men (in their 50s-- I'm in my 20s) a few rows below us who only saw Vinny kicking extra points after our TDs-- every other play the rest of the game they only screamed at us even though we had our mouths shut the entire time. I know my place-- I keep my mouth shut when in the belly of the beast as I was.

At halftime, my dad and I went to the men's room. Outside you could hear screaming and jeering-- when we got inside a guy in a Peyton jersey was being accosted while trying to use the facilities. When I got a chance to do my business, I was challenged to a fight by a guy I said nothing to. Boy oh boy.

Let me interject by saying that I understand that trash talk and banter are 100% a part of sports, and arguably even add to the fun of being a fan. However, what Patriot fans do is horrendous. Never have I seen somebody blacked out drunk at the Luke, let alone heckle opposing fans with obscenities and threats. Last year at the Bills game, my dad was wearing his Stevie Johnson jersey and was left right alone. The people in front of us (Colts fans) picked on him here and there but laughed about it and even high fived him a bunch of times, including when the Bills scored. Dad said that he was amazed at how docile us Colts fans were.

I apologize for the essay, but I just wanted to share my experience, and thank Colts fans for being such a classy bunch. You are all like my extended family when I make it to home games at the Luke. As a fanbase, we can definitely attest to being a much classier bunch than Patriot fans. Let me also say that I know that the fans around us don't represent the entire Patriot fanbase (there are some posters on here who carry themselves maturely), but man would I be embarrassed if I saw Colts fans treating an opposing fan that way, especially if those fans kept quiet the entire game.

Has anyone else had similar rough experiences at Gillette or other stadiums?

  2. I dont understand "liking" a teams draft because they drafted players they "needed". Unless the team is OAK - drafting "needs" are only maybe 20% of the equation to a successful draft. I cant like a player until I see him produce consistentlty - consistently help someone else produce or prevent someone else (opponent) from producing consistently.

As far as NE specifically - im not here to gas up what they are doing. (Even though I know that is why these stories get posted here - ill bite)

NE as an organization lost its respect when it got penalized for cheating.(& havent won anything since I might add) Only in America can one man cheat & never get a second chance & another man do the exact same thing & not lose anything but money.

NE always can have a decent draft - they will draft a shady guy & are held to a different standard for it. Need an example? I have one.

Tyrann Mathieu. Name the teams that would not get a negative reaction for drafting him. In ARI - they say its OK because P Peterson is there to "mentor" him. In DAL - they would have blamed Jerry Jones & compared him to D Bryant. OAK - no Al Davis to blame. NE - they would have put it on Bill Beli. shoulders & talked about his "success" with R Moss but not his failure with OchoCinco.

NE is a team that shouldnt easily mix well on an Indianapolis Colts website. We represent 2 different ways of getting our mail. If all teams are represented by the players they go to war with. On our side I see R Waynes - P Mannings - J Saturdays. On their side I see a shady coach that is comfortable with shady tactics & players to win.

NE is a rival - the only respect they get is to know that it means a little something extra to us when we beat them.

Best and most liked post ive ever read about the Patriots on this forum! Right on man
  3. Ok... so getting rid of manning was a tough pill for me to swallow, but i've swallowed it. . Yes i will always be a Manning fan and I always be a little sad because of how it all went down. But the pain seems to have subsided somewhat. Now, im looking towards the future and starting to get a little excited. My question to all of you faithful and brilliant colts fans is..... How good "IS" Andrew Luck? I watched him play a couple of games in college and liked what i saw for the most part. I was really impressed with him in the Fiesta Bowl (his last college game.) I watched his pro day and thought he looked great. I've watched him with Gruden and about everything i could find on him via you tube. Again...i liked what i saw. I value the opinions of many people on this website. I just want to hear from y'all what your gut tells you about our new QB. My first impressions are that he is extremely intelligent. The kid can read and dissect defenses like nobody's business! He seems to have an excellent touch on his midrange passes and he also threw a deep bomb in the fiesta bowl that was unbelievably perfect. I love his toughness and how he can run(although i hope he doesnt run too often in the NFL.) I think he has some great intangibles... and ive heard alot of people say that. Seems like he is years ahead of a college senior/rookie NFL QB. There are a some things that bother me a little though. I am just not sure about his personality. Now before i say this, i know in some ways this trait could be a positive. He just doesnt show much emotion or drive like Peyton. Peyton was sooo driven to be the best that you could see it just by his interviews. How could this be a positive?? He is alot cooler and calmer than Peyton i think...More like Eli. That could help in clutch situations. He might have nerves of steel in a pressure moment...i dont know. If thats the case, GREAT! But i just dont see that drive and excitement in him like i did Manning. That kinda worries me a little. We all new 18 wanted to be the best and we all knew how hard he was going to work. Peyton was unmatched in that area. I just hope Luck is the same way but maybe just takes a quieter approach. If Tom Moore says he is that good, i believe him. If Irsay says 29 of 32 teams would have madly pursued Luck if he was a free agent...I somewhat believe him (I would imagine he is somewhat "in the know" on this subject.) Now i want to know what all my Colt's Forum friends think. Lets hear your honest opinions! How good is Andrew Luck??? Thanks and GO :coltslogo:

  4. The most telling remark was his opening one. "I really feel good. I continue to make progress every day."

There was no hesitation in that. No "trying" or anything that can be misconstrued. The man said it and obviously believes it. There were no ticks or tells to suggest he was hiding anything.

Head-to-head doesn't matter. Federer is still a better player all-time than Nadal despite their head-to-head. H2H records are often circumstantial. Brady's head-to-head against Manning is pretty good, despite in being 2-5, or whatever, the last 7 times they played. The QB's don't play each other; they play against a defense.

I would support Luck if he were the Colts starting QB. I will support Manning wherever he goes, though I think it's here or retirement for him. If they were to somehow play against each other, I'd probably pull for Manning no matter what. I can't help but feel that this team did him a little wrong, and are vicariously trying to make it right with a rookie QB instead.

i agree. I will definitely support luck if irsay lets manning go but i will always feel like he gave indy his all and wasnt treated fairly. Atleast today he sounded at piece with everything.
  5. What if he matches him in playoff wins or gets more someday?

Many Packers fans criticized Aaron until he got that ring and now an MVP is coming.

Like I said, it's all about winning. If we end up with Luck and he suceeds his bandwagon will grow larger and larger. The pressure will be on. He is a smart guy though and I think he can deal with it. I don't think many would expect an overnight miracle with the situation here.

Speaking of Luck, I wonder how he feels watching all this unfold in the media and seeing Colts fans wave his jersey around.

oh man, i would think this is all making him crazy! I couldnt imagine having to worry about coming in and replacing manning! Especially if a healthy peyton is cut. The pressure will definitely be on!!! Lol
  6. I honestly think it's unfair to compare Luck to anyone right now who is established. IMO he has all the tools/brains/leadership etc. of being a top QB someday but has not even joined the league yet. It is unfair.

I know Packers fans who didn't want Rodgers either once and no way would he replace Favre.

Winning cures everything. If the Luck led Colts someday win big games then people will be kissing his butt. If he is a bust, then we are in trouble.

i never was a big fan of farve so him being surpassed by aaron doesnt surprise me. As far as luck he may or may not become an elite qb but to say that he will have the drive like peyton does to be that good is highly unlikely. (Although possible) take rodgers out of the line up n they would still have a good team. (Like the season finale) take manning out of colts line up and they are 2-14. But i do get what you are sayin. I hope im wrong...i just dont think he will ever match manning. Just my opinion
  7. Irsay has said we r taking a pick at #1 so luck/rg3 will be on this team. I can't wait to end all this controversy.

your controversy isnt if we draft luck or not, its if we keep peyton. You have been on this forum for months preaching to everyone that peyton is good as gone and we need to except it. We all know we are gonna draft luck. But ur gonna have to eat alot of crow if we keep manning! You will have to disappear from this forum because you will have lost all credibility! Luck may turn out good but ur dreamin if you think he will ever be manning bro. Dont know why you want him gone so bad.
  8. Because in MY OPINION with all the changes and PM saying he doesn't even know if he will be healthy and knowing that the nerve regeneration can't be predicted and it involves his tricep I don't see him being 100% healthy and 100% certain that he can play with no issues at all by march. Just what I think.

ahhh... Now said that way sounds much better! I gotcha bro
  9. This means nothing about pm at all. We have needed help on d for a long time and Irsay said the d was going to be an important issue this offseason. Peyton will NOT be s colt next year.

I dont know how you can say that peyton wont be a colt next year when we dont even know what his health status is going to be. Irsay has clearly said several times that if peyton is healthy he WILL be a colt next year. I dont think any of us are gonna know that answer until it gets closer to march 8th!
  10. Its kinda strange they havent fired christensen yet. i figured if manning was gonna retire or be released that clyde would get the ax. Manning may retire tomorrow and clyde could be retained or get fired, idk. I just get this feeling that clyde will stay or go... according to what manning does. Not necessarily as O.C., just that he might remain on the coaching staff. I could be wrong though.

  11. im sure grigson was a big part of the firing but i think irsay had a hand in it also. therefore my new word for the colts decision maker is......GRIGSAY! so i think Grigsay decided it was time for new leadership (which i totally agree) i think caldwell is a great human being but he has never impressed me with any coaching call that he has ever made. to me he lived by the coaching 101 handbook. i think we need a new staff with more passion and fire and DEFINETELY better on field decisions. im really excited moving forward into next year. now....who are we going to get???? im sure Grigsay has a plan!!!

  12. If Caldwell stay it's a good decision. He knows the players and our system. It would take about 2 years to get a new system into place. Now if Caldwell shows he can coach and adjust then he'll stay longer.

i dont know. didnt take harbaugh 2 years to implement his system. i think there is alot of factors that go into it. im just ready for a change. im not sure that its gonna be the end of the world if caldwell is retained... i just think we need some new blood in there. someone with alot of passion and fire. but if i am to really be honest about the situation, i really cant make an absolute fair decision about caldwell unless i see what he could do next year, after all the changes. (although that goes against what i want and what i think is best 4 the team) thats my 2 cents
  13. That would make my day! I wasn't a Polian basher, simply because I didn't think we could do much better. This ^ has promise!

same here. although i didnt have a problem with B.P., i have wanted jeff fisher to coach manning since he was out in tennessee. if it takes firing bill to get jeff... so be it. i just hope that is the plan (to get fisher)!
  14. there seems to be alot of polian bashing on this forum. i know not all, but some of the bashing has been because of recent draft picks. donald brown is showing what he can do behind a decent o-line. the kid put chris johnson to shame! it was exciting to watch him today. he may have missed on jerry hughes but man....did he nail it on angerer!! our 2nd round pick looks like a top 5 pick to me! you have give bill a little credit. no one is gonna hit them all,but if you can hit on a diamond in the 2nd round...thats a grand slam to me! angerer is a freakin terror!!!! thats my opinion anyway.

  15. I think JC will be back for two reasons:

    1. He's still under contract and we can't afford to pay multiple head coaches, and

    2. He'll be given a chance with a QB to prove whether this year was a fluke or not

how long was his contract for? i could be totally wrong, but i thought his first contract was for 3 years?? was it for longer? if it WAS for three years, than we wouldnt even have to fire him! we would just not sign him to another contract and hire someone else (im all for fisher myself). if somebody could fill me in on caldwell's contract length, i would really appreciate it!!
