Forget that pick. We better get a receiver with the next pick. Wanted AJ Brown but oh well...DK PLEASE!
-
We traded a first for 2 second rounders...and one of them is next year. That is ridiculous to me. I can see if it was a 2020 first and this years 2nd but it's not.

Highly disappointed. Sweat was right there

Please, tell us?
Where was the "positive" part of your opinion? Most can't seem to find that.
You seemed like a desperate, whiney fan.... "Please! Give me an exciting new toy for Christmas!"
Sit on Chris Ballard's lap and ask him. I'm sure he'd ignore you like I should have.

Free agents that fit our locker room and our system are assigned a value etc CB has a formula he has explained numerous times This shouldn’t be a surprise
I'm aware. Again I can only wish and hope

Why is trading for a DE out of question?
Because according to Ballard, he loves his picks. The more the merrier.

That's pretty much true.
They're gonna spend, though. How many players who were realistic targets of the Colts signed elsewhere today? One? I never thought Flowers was realistic. Humphries could have been, but I never heard the Colts mentioned in connection with him.
Not really sure. I understand CB wants to build through the draft but if there are young bulls out there that can help achieve the ultimate goal...pull the trigger. Of course I'm not a GM but I am a fan that can wish. That's all.

My goodness! Talk about flood gates...relax. Just opinions and wishes ppl. I know its early. Sheesh!
-
Trading for a DE is definitely out the question (my opinion), Collins is gone, Flowers is gone. This is the time to make your fans happy and splash a little bit. One can only hope that CJ Mosley is picked up by us or even L. Bell. Our season was stellar but it could be better this year. We can win now with the right pieces from free agency and the draft. I know its early in free agency but come on Chris Ballard! Give us somebody...PLEASE!!!!
-
Flowers, Collins, Bell, Mosley and another solid draft??? Oh my!

Our team's played "soft when it mattered" because playoff teams are
solid in the trenches and on defense more often than not.
Polian's 1st rd picks:
Offense: Manning, Edge, Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Gonzalez,
Addai, Donald Brown
Defense: Freeney, Rob Morris and Marlin Jackson
These teams were a blast to watch but in the playoffs, tough team's
in the trenches and defense usually overcame our investment in the
skill positions.
You're helping me make my point. As I stated before, Polian was an offensive minded guy that got Peyton weapons but constantly ignored the defense. Nobody's fault but the GM (Polian) for giving us a "soft" label. It was fun to watch when we were blowing teams out, but when we lose or get blown out it's not as fun or we start saying things like "soft" ...
But let's talk about the "Now", that's the past. Our defense is young and tough. So is our offense. I dont see anything "soft" about the team. Especially after Ballard changed the mindset. Whether we draft a WR early or late it really won't matter. We just have to go out and compete at a high level.

Did you follow the Colts under Polian? Drafting skill players early
leads to soft teams, as we have been shown over and over during
his tenure.
Drafting wideouts early is a good way to be a regular season juggernaut
but fold like a lawn chair in the playoffs.
Drafting a WR early doesn't make a team "soft". Our team just played "soft" when it mattered. That's it in a nutshell. Bill Polian drafted offensive talent but sucked at producing defensive talent. Nor would he ever give us anyone in free agency. With the team Ballard is building now, drafting a WR early or late won't hurt either way. Our defense is young and tough. So is our offense. Everyone has opinions and that's fine. Agree to disagree.
Go Colts!

I think Miami might be our best shot of getting the most for Brissett. If we could swap our 1sts and also swap our late 2nd for their 2nd, that will be getting good value.
We would have so much more options at 13, and could potentially even trade down a bit from there and still get a guy like Christian Wilkins or Montez Sweat.
Wilkins just screams Colts to me

How are we going to get Chris Grier to lose his mind and not get fired ?
You mean Ballard right??

Addressing the pass rush in free agency and a solid (defensive) draft...we're playing in the Superbowl ppl.
Sign Free Agents:
Frank Clark
Trey Flowers
Ha Ha Clinton Dix
NFL Draft:
Trade Jacoby to the Dolphins also swapping picks (26th to 13) for Christian Wilkins.
Byron Murphy
Kelvin Harmon or Deebo Samuel (torn between the two) in the second
Trayvon Mullen in the third round
Armani Hooker (can play CB, LB and Saftey)
Max Sharping Guard (comp pick) in the fourth round
Ryan Bates Guard in the fifth
Rodrigo Blankenship in the 6th

They don't want one because they want to attack the defense with multiple backs who have different skill sets. And if they did they'd draft one before they spent milions on a back. What we do is the same thing the Pats do with their backfield.
Who's on our draft board? Who are we selecting with the 26th pick? If you can tell me that Krunk, I'd believe everything you're saying. But I can't. Be optimistic, not objective. Telling us what the Colts aren't going to do (when you dont know yourself) is foolish.
Bell is better than any back on our roster combined. Regardless of the money, you would want a RBBC or L. Bell?
-
Is Bell a difference maker? Yes. Did Ballard say he would add a difference maker? Yes.
Neither player is a Colt, but if they were, they would have to buy into our winning culture.
I guess you're looking at it a different way. Your prerogative
-
I like Preston Smith. He would be a great addition.
-
Let's not put words in the man mouth. All of us are wishful thinkers at this point. Sitting back waiting to see what our favorite team will do...Its exciting and disappointing at the same time. Have faith that Ballard will do what's in the best interest of the Colts. If its signing Brown, Bell, Lawrence or all of them....good deal. If not, oh well. I'm still a fan either way.

I wouldn't hold my breath too long thinking Ballard will sign Bell. Ballard has been non stop talking about bringing players in who fit a certain culture he is trying to build and Bell doesn't fit what Ballard wants on the team or in the locker room.
When has Ballard said Bell doesn't fit our team/culture? Do you have a source or link? I'm asking because I want to read it.
Ballard isn’t afraid to bring a player like that into the locker room so long as they fit the culture.
“Am I against adding a player that’s a difference maker on Sunday that I know is going to help us win games? No. I would absolutely add that player,” Ballard said. “He’s gotta fit into our culture. He has to fit in to doing things right. He has to fit in about being team-first. He has to be accountable to his teammates. They have to fit that criteria.”

I like several of their guys up front...Dexter Lawrence is a huge athletic NT that I'd love to have...Christian Wilkins would be a nice DT, also!
I think Lawrence will be there in the first. Draft Byron Murphy and Austin Bryant in the second and look out!

Absolutely. The guy should be a one year sign though. Has to be on a prove it contract.
This signing has Ballards' name all over it. I will give him the same deal Ebron got. 2 years 10-15 mil. Ebron earned his money, so can Ray.
