  1. Let's see how easy it is to blow up your latest nonsense....

In the past two weeks, I've done the following....

    1.   Started a thread that I thought Pep should be fired immediately.       Not exactly a "hope" thing.

    2.   Started a thread that if Pagano's job is on the line,  then why isn't Grigson's job as well?    Not exactly a "hope" thing.

    3.   Posted that while I like Pagano and think he's a good coach,  he may no longer be the right coach for the Colts because I think Irsay has allowed this problem to spin badly out of control.     Not exactly a "hope" thing.

If you bothered to read around here,  you'd know better.

But you've become a hammer.   And you swing at everything as if it's a nail.    Everything has to be "Grigson sucks" with you and your crowd.    Despite the fact that your hero -- Dustin -- has a thread showing the rookie grades and almost every pick we made this year is doing somewhere between average and great.    Don't look now,  but that's all on Grigson.    So far,  a very good draft.

But you won't acknowledge that because it goes against the "Grigson sucks" garbage that comes out in all of your posts.

Refuting the posts you make isn't hard....   you don't like it because I use things like....   facts.    And those get in the way of your posts which are based mostly on.......  opinions....   opinions are fun for you.   Facts are like annoying flies.   They bother you.

Hey,  you're not alone.   There's a good sized crowd here that does much the same.

It's just a tired act favored by the young and the unknowledgeable.

Yup, the "everyone gets a trophy" crowd who constantly needs immediate gratification ....

  2. I am pretty confident.  This is a home football game, and I thing our offense will 'Gore through' the Jaguar's defense.I am seeing more bubble screens this week, more use of the TEs and maybe Andre Johnson comes through in a short-medium passing game.

YAC are going to be important in this one.  The Jags play primarily a zone defense  Gore will shred it, and Hassellback has read blitzes for a very long time...I am confident   :)

    X2!

  3. Of course, the Grigson haters,  the usual suspects,  are so busy hating on Grigson here that they completely missed the most important comment that Schlereth made which came at the end.    No surprise!

And that is Schlereth saying that -- league wide -- in the 15 years he's been a commentator for ESPN,  this is the worst offensive line play he's ever seen by far.

In other words,  the problem the Colts are having is the same problem most every other team in the NFL is having.   A huge shortage of quality offensive lineman.

And we've had a number of threads this week from a variety of NFL people here in the Colts section talking about the exact same thing.    A terrible shortage of quality offensive lineman league wide.     So this is not just a Schlereth point of view,  this is the view of most everyone throughout the NFL.

But that's not going to get the Grigson haters to cool their jets....   they've got their target and nothing is going to stop them...

    Really sad......

That is EXACTLY what he said.....but the feeding frenzy has to go on with those with a limited attention span?

  4. you mind find this hard to believe but he is responsible for quite a few of his hits

Ill offer the first tip....Learn what a check down is and actually take the check down(This goes for Pep to more often then not). It works wonders...Just ask Tom Brady this year

Let me start off by giving you a thorough round of applause! It seems the microwave media pundits can't see the forest for the trees....kudos!

  5. This won't be a popular post,  but that's OK.....     but this needs to be said.

The Colts could've invested 5 first round draft picks on the OL and Andrew Luck STILL could get hurt.

    Stuff happens.

It's the nature of the position.    Quarterbacks get hurt.    Doubt there's ever been one in the history of the game that didn't get hurt to one extent or another.

The NFL is a violent game.    Players and especially quarterbacks get hurt.    That's why the NFL has spent the last 15-20 years trying to come up with rules to protect the QB better.

I'm not saying Girgson is guilt free here.   This is not a Get Out Of Jail Free card.

This is just some needed perspective for the torches and pitch forks crowd........      Slow your roll.......

    Just sayin......

    Well said!

  6. Whoops.. I meant he wasn't resigned by the Chargers and he only  got a one year deal this offseason. He led the league in pass interference last year and only played average to below average. Got signed by the 49ers and has been inactive the first three weeks.. I don't know I just don't want him.

Oh wow, didn't realize he led the league in PI calls...doh! Thanks for the info

  7. Josh Thomas looks good and we just signed Shaun Prater who is also solid veteran depth.. so unless someone fails to impress it's safe to say he won't be signed. Just because he was successful before doesn't mean he'll be now. There's a reason he was released and has been inactive all of this season.

He hasn't been released....he asked to be traded OR released. I like what Thomas did in the last game but don't have a lot of faith in Prater but who knows?

  8. I think we are going to get on a roll now.  Sometimes it takes hitting the bottom before making it to the top.  I vote for Dorsett, Moncrief and TY in 3 WR sets...and screens and bubbles out of the backfield....also NEVER forget that the TE is a dangerous weapon.

I couldn't agree more! I have lurked on here for quite some time and just decided to join. I have found throughout my lurking time I agree with most of what you write. Same with Gavin, SMonroe, OldUncleMark plus some others....maybe we are all around the same age or something, lol?

  9. Whether he's a man to man or zone corner, he was awful last year and there is no way he'll be traded as he has a one year deal.

Looking at his scouting reports it appears that he is a fit for both coverages? I wasn't speaking in terms of trading for him but if Indy may have interest if he is given the release he is seeking? Solid veteran depth never hurts and with Toler's injury concerns it would be prudent to at least kick the tires if he is released?

  10. The free agents, especially the big 2013 class, were meant to be patches, not the core of the team upon which we would build. The core is the young guys that have been drafted or traded for. The staff intends to build through the draft, particularly with an eye on sustained success. In that regard, there have been limited returns partly because there were limited resources. Only four draft classes, and a roster that's been almost totally rebuilt.

Then there are the big mistakes, particularly with draft picks and drafted players: Werner, Richardson, trading Hughes, and some others.

For a team trying to rebuild on the fly, we haven't quite maximized our draft resources. No one drafts perfectly, but those mistakes really hurt, when you look back on them.

The bolded mistakes have clearly put Indy at a disadvantage...hopefully moving forward those mistakes are used as learning tools for future success? I will say however, the 2013 offseason was not pretty and it's failures are showing up on this year's team.

  11. I don't see how the highest paid RT of all time can be considered a 'diamond in the rough'. Cherilus had a great year before he joined the Colts.

Grigson has got it wrong with the o-line, with a combination of bad luck (injuries) and poor acquisitions.

However, this narrative that he continually refuses to address the issue is completely unsubstantiated.

Well said! A healthy and obviously less expensive (had he choose to accept the reported contract rework) Cherilus would have made the Offensive Line so much better. Donald Thomas was an ascending player coming from New England who unfortunately succumbed to injuries. Mewhort, Holmes and Thorton were all taken in the top 4 rounds....it is completely unsubstantiated.

  12. Aside from the lack of sacks, and the expectations that he had that skill set, he's been a solid LB.  He always reminded me of Rob Morris in 2006 when he got moved to the strong side.  I could see Werner replacing Walden longer term.  Walden sometimes lacks discipline:  head butting, fighting, Sunday's roughing the passer - an awful penalty, Mariota had clearly released the ball.

    That is a nice analogy!
