  1. Talk to everyone next week!!! Going to Boston tomorrow night for a long weekend with my fiance for Pacers/Celtics and Cavs/Celtics. Good times!!!!! Two terrific games on the same weekend is a classic we can't pass up.

  2. I am having a double wedding in May I joke to my fiance. To him and Brad Stevens. Kyrie been out for the last week and 3-0 and even using AL HORFORD at point guard and making it work? Just get out of here, I can't take it anymore!!!! This man makes stuff work when it looks impossible.

Stevens is hilarious. Cool as ice. lmao

  3. I shockingly fit perfectly in my mom's wedding dress she wore marrying my dad in the 70's. So I am going to wear it for my own wedding in May. Just needs a few adjustments here and there and a professional cleaning since it has been in a box wrapped up for so long preserved. But I am almost the same exact size as my mom my whole life.

Needless to say me wearing her wedding dress has my folks an emotional mess. They are loving this.

But it sure saves me a load of having to go around looking for a NEW dress and spending extra money on it that we can use for something else. Although this dress cost a fortune in the 70's for prices then so it's me going retro. It's sort of a Grace Kelly style wedding dress.

    1. Jules

      Jules

Too bad she got rid of that dress, but then again everyone is different when it comes to saving things. My mom saved everything. I mean she preserved her dress forever wrapped up in some airtight bag and a box. And her mother, my grandmother died when I was in the 4th grade sadly. But my mom saved her mom's cream wedding outfit too and still has that preserved! But no my mom is not going to wear her mom's outfit. lmao We are not going that far.

Oh this dress will be saved forever though, my mom is big on memories. Photos etc. Just everything.

Jules is getting hitched in May eh? Nice. I assume that it goes without saying that your soulmate likes cats  too right? Purr Fect...

Cool to hear that you get to save money & wear a family heirloom/dress as well. Happy for ya. :hat:

  4. Fiance got tickets for us to go to Celtics/Cavs in Boston February 11th. I think I am going to probably act at this game like the girls who saw the Beatles in America for the first time.

The finest display of athleticism in the world will be in front of me live as well as THE Brad Stevens. Oh and Paul Pierce night. Lebron. Da works.

I don't know where you find all your cat memes Jules, but they are certainly original & hard to forget.

      Enjoy your Celtics game.

  5. I changed my mind, giving the C's a shot now in the east. They made the Cavs look old as dirt tonight and Kyrie didn't even have a good game and spent most of the night deferring.

The IT angle will still be there but I am confident Stevens knows how to shut him down IF Isaiah can make it through the eastern playoffs healthy. I am amazed, holding the Cavs/Warriors to both 88 points this year is pretty difficult to do. And the Celtics missed a lot of shots tonight too.

Cavs are still easily the favorites but if somehow the C's can get Hayward back in some role by years end.......well then it gets real.

    1. Jules

      Jules

To be fair I did expect the C's to win tonight since they had a rest and the Cavs were on a back to back. But I didn't think it would be so easy.......

I am SHOCKED Boston won so easily without Kyrie having a good shooting night.O.o But for all those who said he was A BALL HOG. He isn't. His shots were not going in tonight so instead of forcing it he got everyone else involved. He didn't try to play hero ball vs. Cleveland when they were covering him so much in this game.

    2. Jules

      Jules

I just don't know about this Cavs defense though, I mean they got torn the hell up even by Rozier tonight. lmao

And IT won't help them defensively.

I am a big big fan of defense. Hell the Pacers scored easier on the Celtics.........

      Jules

Hope Kevin Love will be okay, he hurt his ankle. He gets hurt way too many times in Boston. But he was not playing well before the injury either, Horford was owning him. Big Love fan but he can be fragile.

Feel bad for IT too since he seems to genuinely still love Boston and the people. Sigh........he was even smiling when it was over.

  6. Got engaged on Christmas Eve!!! We are looking at May or June for the wedding right now or some month when it's not brutally cold lol. I was kinda torn on the idea of "the wedding" but I agreed to it due to him since he really wants to go all out on this. He is sort of the romantic type actually and yes those men still exist in todays age!!! And my family wants a special wedding and his mother/sister wants to do something special so.......well I can do it. His father died when he was in his 20's so I think his mom really wants to do something special for her son and family and I respect this. Most I know want a fun celebration so I can do that for them since I don't mind getting dolled up.

Neither one of us has been married before so this is all new to us. We are going to buy a new house together too before the wedding.

I am 36 and Mark is 37. We feel too old for the whole party thing beforehand in terms of something sleazy. I am just going to do something normal with a few girls I know and my sister. And he and his friends are doing something like going to one of the early season Red Sox games and making it a big event. They are mad mad baseball fanatics. He is a Boston sports fan yes but a nice one. He often teases me about coming online for Colts stuff and is like "So whats new with the Colts this week......who got hurt today on the team?". lmao He actually likes Andrew Luck too and hopes he can come back 100%.

Never thought I would get married my whole life but this is what I want now, you just never do know where life will take you. He is my soulmate and we actually can read each others minds. I met him a few years ago but we were mostly just close friends (who liked each other) until we became exclusive romantically this recent summer. But before we got official, we were talking nearly everyday and everyone just wanted us to get together already lol. It became way way too obvious.

I met him through my first cousin's husband who introduced us a few years ago. And our first time hanging out was seeing a cheesy Adam Sandler movie.

My cousin is my age exactly.......we grew up together and her husband wanted me to meet a guy he worked with. He had a picture of me and my cousin on his phone with me in a Colts scarf. lmao

Anyway I hope everyone else had a great holiday weekend and Christmas!!!!

Glad the season is almost over too, we deserve to move on and regroup to better times.

Yeah your best bet might still be OKC.

Ugh, I thought Lonzo did OK tonight and Cavs fans are picking on him. Cavs fans sadly can be jerks this year for some reason. They have not been the same since Kyrie left.

      Oh well.

I don't know why Lonzo gets picked on so bad. He clearly has talent.

    3. 2006Coltsbestever

It will be real interesting to see what the Lakers do in the Draft and Free Agency. Magic is about to pull a rabbit out his hat IMO. Something big about take place. I already like the progress that Ingram, Clarkson, and Randle are making too. Ingram had a bad game tonight but has played well most of the season. Lonzo is going to be great IMO, give him another year or 2. He already does a lot of things well.

    2. Jules

      Jules

Need to get some damn weight/muscle on Ingram. I say this every week. Last year I saw him literally "bounce off" Lebron James, for real. He bounced off Lebron like a rubber ball.

Lonzo is definitely a throwback at PG, that is what Lakers fans need to realize. I honestly don't think he will ever be a great Scorer but I never did. That isn't his job. His job is to pile up Assists and be the Leader of that team. Rebound well to start fastbreaks, etc.. Yes he needs to score some to keep the opponent honest but 15 a game would be adequate IMO. He isn't a scoring PG like Curry, Westbrook, and Harden are. He is more like CP3, Kidd, Stockton type. Regarding Walton, I really liked him at first and I had him up there with Brad Stevens potential but not sure now. His rotations are puzzling!

    3. Jules

      Jules

I agree with everything you said. As for Brad Stevens, he can make his mistakes too. He had Al Horford against Drummond the other night instead of going with Baynes at center. Not a great move since Al doesn't have enough muscle at times, kinda like a tall thin Kevin Love type. He can score but sometimes be pushed around by the monster dudes.

I give Brad Stevens a pass though since they play the Pistons 3 more times and he likes to feel out different line ups a lot in various games for the future. And they might end up seeing them yet again for the playoffs.

Stevens has some puzzling rotations at times too and especially for second units but he often does it to feel out what will work long term as well.

Luke is trying to find what works as well but I don't think they should "bench" Lonzo like they were a few times for the 4th quarter, it won't help his confidence. I won't give up on Luke yet though........he is OK so far and has even defended Lonzo Ball at times.

Sometimes I don't think Luke uses Lopez well though so far.

Oh no........Lakers play the Warriors tonight. lmaolmaolmao *hides* I read Durant/Curry are cleared to play but I don't know if their minutes are cut.

If Lakers lose tonight I hope nobody freaks out on this one. Since it's not a win you should expect by any means. Lakers though IMO should have beaten the Clippers the other night.

I guess it was coming, other teams wanted it more at times. Just wish it wasn't to the Heat who I don't think are all that great despite being fired up lol.

Have a good time tomorrow, sounds like a big feast. I have to go to my folks house too and my sister sometimes goes with me so we can share a car. I had a big dinner over NBA stuff tonight with my boyfriend and sister so I am stuffed. We talk too much about Lebron and the Celtics and Lonzo Ball.

I will try to catch some of the NFL action or at least the later stuff. Just hoping the Cowboys continue to slide lol. I also would not mind San Diego going on some sort of hot streak, Rivers deserves it. I am starting to warm up to the idea of the Vikings now too........

  13. Sweet Sixteen wins in a row now for the Celtics. Kyrie Irving: 47 points in Dallas.

Toronto may beat us, we are due for a loss after winning 4 in a row. I think that game is 50/50 as Toronto is very talented and they kicked the crap out of Houston the other night.

    3. Jules

      Jules

Due for a loss after just 4? Celtics are at 16 and I keep thinking it's coming. lmao But it's tough to say........

I think it's the Kyrie factor, he's the closer. Pacers still need "that guy" but your scoring looks to be pretty good.

    4. 2006Coltsbestever

      2006Coltsbestever

Dipo I think is a decent closer and becoming that type of guy. Pacers usually just go with the hot hand. Yeah 4 in a row isn't nothing compared to 16 but 16 isn't the norm. Usually when teams win 4 or 5 in a row they play a stinker and lose. Long streaks are rare. I would be surprised if the C's have a streak longer than 7 the rest of the year once this one is over.

  14. 15 wins in a row now for the Celtics. Kyrie *the closer* Irving 30 points, Jaylen Brown 27 points. Who says they don't have star power? :)

    1. 2006Coltsbestever

      2006Coltsbestever

Irving is a SuperStar and Horford is an All-Star, Brown is Good and they have the best Coach in the league. C's are for real.

    2. Jules

      Jules

When they play Atlanta, it's ugly. It's very very ugly. I am not sure ether but it's just one of those teams. They try hard against the Celtics even when they are bad.

I remember back when the Celtics won the title with KG they got allll they could handle with the Atlanta Hawks in the very first round and it went the distance. Thats when the Hawks had Pachulia and he and KG wanted to murder each other on the court.

Celtics have a stretch here of not playing very good teams so if they get complacent someone will be wanting to end this streak. Next up is the Mavs who aren't very good. And then the Heat who are kinda tough to figure out.....

  15. 14 wins in a row for the Celtics. Huge huge win tonight over the Golden State Warriors. AMAZING. Stunning really.

Yeah, best win of the season IMO. Warriors were even playing hard on D.

    2. Jules

      Jules

Warriors never get a good rep for D but they play nasty D when they try.

Boston will be lethal if they can get more offense going but it's really not their thing this year, it's all defense and a few clutch plays in the 4th.

This game was GORGEOUS for fans of defense. Shooting was off though outside of KD and Jaylen Brown for most of the game.

    3. 2006Coltsbestever

      2006Coltsbestever

I love these type of games because both teams were hustling playing their butts off. It was a fun game to watch. Great Defenses.

  16. Celtics win 13th straight. :clover: Dedicated to Kyrie Irving's new clear face mask.

Good news? 13 straight is a tough thing to do obviously.

Bad news? Horribly weird game against the Nets who played their butts off and the Golden State Warriors go to Boston on Thursday lol.

You can just hope for the best from now on. :) It's been a fun ride to watch.

  17. 12th win in a row for the mighty Boston Celtics defensive powerhouse machine. This one dedicated to the most under looked big man in the game who returned today, Al Horford.

    Image

Kyrie Irving was still out with his minor facial fracture and is being fitted for a mask to wear on the court. Celtics play the Nets in a few nights and later in the week on Thursday it's about to get real........Warriors go to Boston.

    1. Jules

      Jules

Beating Toronto is a quality win, it's a team that always gave Boston fits.

  18. 11 wins in a row now for the Celtics. No Horford, no Kyrie and no Hayward? No problem.

Who is the best coach in the NBA now?

    Brad-Stevens.jpg

  19. Kyrie Irving definitely proving he CAN be a leader of a team. Tonight, 10th win in a row. No Hayward, No Al Horford tonight, only a little Jayson Tatum and no problem.

Okay some problems LOL. That was a messy win and game but still a win is a win. Lakers also btw have a top defense this year too and good young players.

And for those who hate Lonzo Ball and yes I do too at times since it's fun, Celtics Marcus Morris has a few words about this:

    http://www.masslive.com/celtics/index.ssf/2017/11/marcus_morris_is_rooting_for_l.html

    Quote

"I told Lonzo at the end of the game, now I'm kind of rooting him on," Morris said. "Because he's a good kid. It's just his dad, like, his dad has a big mouth. I mean, everybody knows it. It's not a bad thing. If I had my dad, I wish he would be like that, too. Because it's always, like, if anybody loves you, it's going to be your father and he's always going to show tough love. So he's pretty good. His dad might think he's better -- which he should."

"He has a long time in the league, he's a young guy, it kind of sucks he has to go everywhere and they're just booing him and booing him and booing him," Morris continued. "He's a regular player like the rest of us. I think it's more of the Celtics and the Lakers relationship. Hopefully that doesn't happen everywhere, but if it does, man, I guess he should just talk to his father."

Yeah the crowd tonight in Boston was brutal to Lonzo but then again it was always brutal to Kobe too. It's part of the rivalry so he should take it as a compliment and thrive on it.

    boston-celtics-kyrie-irving-102117.jpg?i

Those feisty Hawks. Not sure what it is? They always give a tough game. But the elite defensive streak ended a tiny bit tonight.

Test for 10 wins in a row comes Wednesday night in Boston hosting the Lakers!!!!

    1. Jules

      Jules

I still like the Lakers a bit on the side, but it was more of a Kobe Bryant thing with me who is my all time favorite NBA player.

I think with the NBA it's often a "players league" and I am not ashamed to admit I bandwagon a lot. I just have a lot of fun with a few teams.

I also been a fan of Brad Stevens for a long time going back to his Butler days. LOVE me some Brad Stevens.

As for the game this week, Celtics got a day off and then the Lakers go to Boston. Should be a big one Wednesday. Lakers have been up and down and are quite young. But they have showed up a few times this year on the big stage. Lonzo Ball isn't scoring a lot at times but he is an excellent passer out there. Lopez and Ingram will be tough to guard.

    2. Jules

      Jules

It's funny too with Kyrie Irving that he is still only 25. It's actually kinda amazing that he has been through so much already at this age in the NBA.

Celtics are a pretty young team too outside of a few vets but not as young as the baby Lakers LOL.

I also used to hear a ton about how Kyrie was this gigantic ball hog but I am not seeing this with the Celtics this year. Kyrie has his moments where yes they want him to get the ball and especially late in games. But I swear Isaiah Thomas was more of a hero ball kinda guy with the Celtics even more so over what I seen from Kyrie so far.

Kyrie seems to really be sold on the Brad Stevens system way of doing things so far. In Cleveland I swear at times there is no real system. They just kinda every week stand around with their mouths open at Lebron James. So when Kyrie had a losing record in Cleveland without Lebron I thought too much was made of this.

And don't get me wrong, I love Lebron. But he also did want Lue as the coach and Lue is terrible.

Clarkson is playing really well too so he is getting more minutes than usual.

Kuzma and Tatum both have similar stats.

  22. 7 wins in a row for Celtics. :clover: First team in NBA history to win 7 in a row after starting 0-2. They beat the OKC show tonight. Brad Stevens IMO coach of the year so far. He has Kyrie playing at his best now too. :)

I also don't think Boston has been giving up 100 points even in a while.

Thought it looked bad when they lost Hayward, but great coaching keeps things chugging along.....future is bright for this team.

Warriors sadly IMO are not even focused yet. They will more later on. When they do focus they are lethal and the defensive intensity will be turned up a notch. Last year their defense was a joke for the first few months but when the new year hit they kicked it up a notch.

This is why I wanted the Celtics (with Hayward) to fight against the Warriors in the finals, felt it would be a better series even if the Celtics lost over another Cavs/Warriors crap feast. Hayward won't be back this year.

Ironically by years end if the Celtics stay healthy with everyone else, I still would not count them out for the finals.......since they are a young team with energy and they might be able to snag the first seed again.

I have always thought LeBron has been a Top 10 player of all-time but in all honesty he is probably Top 5 and is still the best player today. Guy scores 57 with ease lmao. He is in there with the Jordan's, Magic's, and Kobe's and actually has more physical talent than those 3. He is a lot like Shaq = a freak of nature. Tom Brady is just a winner and really his only comp were the Manning's. Eli now stinks and Peyton is retired so Tom has an easy road to the SB unless the Steelers or Chiefs can stop him. I want Chiefs but I am not sold on Alex Smith being able to pull it off. They have the Coaching and Defense and now Hunt but can Smith come through :dunno:

You are rooting for the Celtics like I am OKC hoping they can knock off the Warriors but I doubt it happens. I think LeBron will get another crack at them but I don't think even he can beat that team. I thought he had good help last season with Irving and it still wasn't near enough. Not sure how Thomas will play with them?

  23. Congrats to the Astros. They weren't who I wanted but they did deserve it in the end. Tonights game looked kinda bad for the Dodgers early on so I didn't follow it much.
  24. Booo. Wanted the Dodgers. But oh well, it's not over yet. Back to L.A. for do or die. Both great teams worth the time to watch. And I am okay with either team winning it all now.
