  1. Red Sox BURNED Kershaw, I almost "almost" felt sorry for him. I admit I have become a baseball fan and you may at times have a new person here to chime in from time to time. . Dare I say it......football is my third sport now? I have not been into football as much at all this year, barely. I might for the playoffs but I am just kinda bored. It's not even a Colts thing either, it's just I am having issues following all the teams or getting into it.
  2. Thanks, I am late to the party. And yes did my husband and I party. This might even be the best Red Sox team of all time?
  3. Oops nevermind, I had forgotten the Cubs had to come back from 3-1 to win it. It was sort of a reverse to me at the time with the Cavs getting the 3-1 comeback vs. the Warriors and the Indians blowing the 3-1 lead. Kinda odd. Yeah that was a crazy World Series with Cubs/Indians. I had honestly forgotten. I remember some sort of rain delay in game 7 and everything. And I remember the Cubs being a good pitching team but not as good with scoring? No I don't think Sox fans really feel the heat on this one right now since the Yankees/Astros were more intense. IMO
  4. Maybe they slip up in LA a bit? (it's a long trip) But I don't feel this Dodgers team is in the same realm as the Red Sox at all. I doubt they can win at Fenway. I think in baseball at times it's just often someone's year.......and it's often blatant when it happens lol. Red Sox had that win craziness all season and it just feels like it's their time but that doesn't mean they repeat at all. I am sure when the Cubs did it you felt it coming in a way too.
  5. I am no baseball expert lol, but it seems the Red Sox find ways to score no matter what even if it looks ugly for a while.
  6. It was over before it started, not to sound snobby. No matter what happens in LA I can't see the Red Sox blowing this. I went to Fenway last night with my husband for game 1. We almost froze to death but I never seen a team I felt this destined to win it all in a long time. Fenway is great btw but man SOOOOO old . And the fans, whoa........they go nuts. That was my first time there.
  7. Thanks. This has been pretty exciting. My other half is just on cloud nine and thinks I am bringing good luck since we got married in May. Honestly kinda amazing too, never thought I would be a baseball fan but this was fascinating. Sox lost game 1 and then ripped off FOUR in a row vs. a great Astros team including even Price getting a win. I said after the Yankees series I got the tingles. And after game 4.......can't tell me this isn't a sign it's your year. Just amazing. But really this Red Sox team had it all season. IMO they d
  8. Astros are going to be brutal though, this series feels almost like the real World Series to me. I will go look at your NBA picks.
  9. Thank God, anything after this is gravy now. For the sanity of my husband this had to happen. Now he can sleep better for the rest of the week. The Red Sox/Yankees rivarly is HUGE. Like enormous. This HAD to happen. I am starting to get positive tingles concerning the Red Sox though.....
  10. Yep that and the Red Sox also have a pretty good history of plenty of gag jobs. Maybe this year is different though? Time will tell and soon! I can safely say for most Red Sox fans the #1 goal is not to lose to the Yankees.
  11. Red Sox SMASHING the Yankees. My husband is on cloud nine. This is beyond his wildest imagination. Well they are a good team though right? Last game was a stinker but everyone I know who is a Sox fan complains about Price.
  12. Red Sox smashing up the Yankees=extremely happy husband.

Yeah this is embarrassing for the Yankees and their fans. 16-1

      lmao the place emptied early.

But it's not over yet sadly. I mean the series.

The odds are with the Sox now big time though.

  13. Sorry about the Cubs. My husband is already in a panic due to the Yankees. I mentioned a month or two ago how he has been a Red Sox fan his whole life. I guess this rivalry brings up a lot of bad memories and yes bar fights in Boston/NYC.
  14. Going to Colts/Pats with my husband next month. LOL should I cover my eyes during the game or can an upset happen? Luck looks fine IMO, but Brady is some sort of freak ageless wonder that even makes Lebron James jealous.

You mentioned that your husband is a Red Sox fan; is he also a Patriots fan? That would make for an interesting relationship if he were. haha Anyway, enjoy the game and I hope the Colts can pull out a victory.

    3. Jules

      Jules

Yeah I try to hide he is a Boston sports fan here but I think the cat is out of the bag. haha My husband is from Worcester, MA. He's one of the nice ones though and actually likes Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck.

I had told some people a while ago here too I live in New England. We moved here when I was a very young. I was born and raised in Indy though.

Only team I kept with me from moving was the Colts and I will never give up the Colts. He knows this. haha I kinda like the Pacers but never got hard into them. I only kept the Colts as my childhood team. I have not been to Indy since 2007.

But with the Patriots, I think it's more like his third team or something. He is more into the Red Sox and Celtics.

I adopted the Celtics with him last summer and it was real easy. I always was into Brad Stevens going back to his Butler days. We kinda do the Celtics thing together hardcore.

The first picture he ever saw of me btw was me with a Colts scarf around my neck. It was a pic of me and my cousin Erin. Erin's husband Rich showed Mark (my husband) me and said "You should meet Erin's cousin."

Your husband sounds pretty cool Jules. Did he just say he likes Peyton Manning & Andrew Luck as part of the courtship phase of your relationship though? No guy is completely honest in that phase as we tend to do a number of things to impress our partner or win brownie points vs truly believe what we say at that juncture.

It's fine. I'm not here to make waves. If he makes you happy, nothing else matters in the grand scheme of things. Enjoy the game regardless of the final score. I hope you have good seats.

  15. Had a dream er nightmare (?) the next SB was Patriots/Cowboys. Don't know who won.

In your dream scenario, I doubt the Cowboys pull off the confetti drop Jules. Prescott is darn good yes, but next to Brady, he is chicken feed.

Anything is possible I guess. Right? I'm not ready for Dallas Lombardi Reunion Tour yet. Let em suffer for another 5 yrs at least. A tad bit harsh sure, but it's where I'm at. LOL!

  16. Yeah the Red Sox are still in it and all. It's a slump. But history isn't kind. So..... Good luck to the Cubs. I really am not hard into baseball but I just want everyone to be happy. Men and baseball can be crazy.
  17. My husband is a life long Red Sox fan. He says the collapse has begun and you may as well hand it to the Yankees because they have evil voodoo. I love Red Sox fans though, always pessimistic but man they do look lousy lately and I never put trust in them.
  18. My husband has the Pats/Eagles game on. Why won't the Pats decline? :(

Yeah same date but totally unplanned by us. lmao I didn't even realize it was the royal day until everyone started telling me as it got closer.

Guess it was princess and prince day for us too. haha

@Jules: Yeah, I heard Foles strained his shoulder on a hit. Hopefully, he will be okay. A marriage, a honeymoon, moving into a new house, & kids [Okay, kittens. Close enough.] No wonder you've been MIA from the Forum for awhile. That's a lot of life changing events in a short period of time there. We all need space & time to breathe. I'm happy for ya. I always want my friends to be content & pleased with their place in the world.

"He is trying to make a Celtics room though for us and game viewing."

Cute. That's typically how it works. The husband gets a room in the basement/dungeon to put up his favorite stuff while the wife gets free reign to decorate the rest of the house as she sees fit. Not complaining. Just speaking the truth. That's how the marriage dynamic works. Women are in charge & husbands must get permission from their significant others to do certain things. LOL! Women wear the pants in the relationship & every once in awhile if their spouse listens, follows directions, & is obedient enough, they are allowed a shrine or sports den of their very own.

I know you're a nice person Jules not a ogre. I'm just goofing around.

Yeah, I heard that Brady stomped Philly in their rematch game. I usually watch all the preseason games on NFL Network. Glad to here everybody in your family [including Buddy & Holly] are getting some relief from the heat & humidity BTW.

I'm good I guess.  Happy to hear about your nuptials like I mentioned before. I'm more of a lone wolf myself who will probably never get hitched. Such is life. I hope you & your husband have many years of good health & prosperity though.

Nothing newsworthy to report on my end except I hate when satellite techs need to visit to fix a TV reception problem & then they give a window of noon to 5 PM as their arrival time so you really can't go anymore tomorrow & your whole day is shot. Oh joy! [Sarcasm]. I'm hoping the tech person can also hook up  my DVD player while they are here since I suck & getting inputs & outputs right. Dish Network personnel have this hangup about installing devices they don't own without their company logo on it. Wish me luck.

  19. Hey everyone!!! Been MIA for a while. The wedding was really great with everyone I know ,  honeymoon was in Hawaii and was a blast. What took most of the summer was moving into the new house with my husband Mark, was A LOT of work, still doing stuff. Tons of fun this summer but man has it been HOT off and on, wow. We got two kittens named Buddy and Holly (don't ask lol).

I hear Andrew Luck is still alive!!!!:rock:Whooo hoooo he lives!!!!!!

Hope everyone is doing well and has had a good summer. Nice to check back in with you all.:kitty:

The font and stuff here has changed? lol

Jules, Falcons and Rams both are capable of winning the SB. I chose the Vikes but the 3 of those teams along with Philly are all pretty even. The NFC is loaded, the AFC just has Tommy :funny:

Not 100% sold yet the Jags win the division, our division is pretty topsy turvy......it's in flux IMO. Might come down to the end of the year.

Vikings can win it IMO unless the Packers have a surge but I often give up lately on picking Green Bay lol.

I got to log off, but I got to see the Pats look great while being there usual boring selves, sigh.

Want to see the Colts play but it's not until Monday sadly.

Sounds like Foles strained his shoulder tonight, it was a hard hitting preseason game.

@Jules: I agree with your fluffy sidekicks. I want the preseason to end so the real games can begin. I only tape Colts games & Giants games anyway on my DVR. Yeah, heat is tough on everybody. Humans & kittens alike. Green Bay should improve finally with some decent secondary help, but this is the Purple People Eaters year I think.

@2006Coltsbestever: Exactly man, Cousins is the missing piece. Their LB corp & pass rushers are fast, almost always tackle for a loss, it's time to make their mark erasing last season. Plus, I want Cousins to win a SB just to make Skip Bayless swallow his own tongue. I'd gladly love non-stop Minnesota media coverage if it made the overhyped Cowboys dissappear from relevancy for awhile.

  20. Realized I have the same wedding date as the royals on the 19th. I don't pay attention them anymore, but some have told me this. Mine will be better. ;) Really have not watched or did much sports lately, sorry everyone. But I paid attention to who we drafted and score watch at times in basketball/baseball.

      Hey there Jules,

Nice to hear from you. I hope your wedding plans are progressing smoothly without too much stress. You've got a legitimate excuse for falling behind in NBA & MLB scores etc.

Jules hope you been doing well, you are in a win/win situation regarding the East. Looks like Celtics vs LeBron. We gave LeBron a huge scare, Game 5 was really the main difference in our series. Take care.

Idea for your wedding song 'You can call me queen bee and baby I'll RULE'

  21. My fiance won't stop talking about his Red Sox. They are that good aren't they? But it is early.....it's a long long season. And yeah the weather is BAD right now outside where I am. Freezing hail. It's creepy lol.
  22. Going to have to cut down on internet and late night time online until around mid to late summer, wanted to let people here know. My schedule is changing lately and I have to get up earlier most days. My wedding is mid May and I have a new house with my future husband, so I am slowly moving out of my current place too. He always lived around 45 minutes from me and we found a new home halfway between where we currently have lived. And we are still looking at a few places for a honeymoon. And I am working out a lot too and stuff to look good for the wedding haha.

Just a ton to do, so sports is going to have to take a back seat momentarily. But I will still be watching sports at times in the background and occasionally logging in to check on Colts news in terms of Luck etc and how things are progressing here. So I might talk once in a while.

Just wanted to let people know, I am more than OK and not ignoring anyone but my internet activity is going to be slowed a lot for some months here.

I am having a blast. Just very very busy and it should clear up mid to late summer. I can't wait until training camp starts and we can get a new season underway!!!! I will definitely be active again eventually.

I can't wait until the wedding but the big load is moving to be honest. haha That is the most work right now.

BTW you aren't stupid, you know the refs will favor Lebron in the east again. lmao They were doing it yesterday too in the first half until the game got away from the Celtics.

      They want Lebron.

    3. 2006Coltsbestever

      2006Coltsbestever

The East is pretty wide open, it is much tougher to predict this season. If Toronto could grow a SACK they could even probably win the East. That team is pretty loaded with talent. The Celtics to me are still the best Defensive team in the East and best  Coached. Cavs got more athletic after the trade and still have LeBron so yes they are dangerous as usual. Teams like the Pacers and Bucks are intriguing, both teams have great chemistry and a Superstar to boot. I am now considering Oladipo a Superstar at this point and the Greek Freak definitely is.

    4. Jules

      Jules

C's will get better again defensively when Smart returns. Since without him, they seem to miss that spark plug. They are sewer trash lately.

Raptors IMO are the best east team on paper, best bench too. Great home crowd and they are hungry. Problem is......sigh, it's the Raptors. Even their fans are dumb aazzes from Canada.

I think every eastern team has dangerous aspects to them but I still got to say Lebron is the favorite until he is knocked off is all.  I mean......it's LEBRON. lmao

      Quote

They are great players, but I think they need to show more in the playoffs for a few years before I can put them in true superstar status. Same with the hyped up Sixers too.

Like I need signature moments and games too or something. But the playoffs are not all that matters. But it's why Kyle Lowry is a great all star player but is known for being a dud in the postseason.

I like Oladipo more than the Greek Freak. ESPN is in love with the Bucks, they kinda worry me since I fear they will get ref help in the postseason. Oladipo I think will prove himself in the postseason in the next few years win or lose since his numbers are usually great.
