  1. I've been able to watch alot of Giants games, thanks to Sunday ticket. And im not sure if there is a stat out there for this, but in the past 3 years, no question, I have seen more 'fluke' INTs from Eli Manning than I have seen from anyone else. Batted balls, tipped passes, catches and strips etc. I distinctly remember one game, maybe 2 years ago, against the Vikings, Eli had like 4 picks....One hit his WR in the back of the head, INT....One hit his WR in the chest, bounced into DB's hands, INT...One hits the crossing WR's hands, goes thru, the 2nd WR almost catches it, bobbles it into defenders hand, INT.....If i remember correctly, I think 3 of those 4 were all back-back-back drives, I had never seen anything like it...

believe me, Eli earned my respect. he's right there with the best of them. i do have to pump the breaks a little when people start saying "top 3" better than this guy and that guy (namely Brady, rodgers, brees, peyton etc), hall of fame........ winning 2 SB's definitely helps him. but short term memories only focus on what happened last night and 2007. his whole body of work still doesnt quite compare to the very very elite....yet. only 2 pro-bowls. some very inconsistent years with high turnover ratios. i agree he can be as good as any in any situation, i'm just saying he hasnt done it as long and as consistently as the top guys....yet

  2. He hasn't always had a top 5 defense backing up him and hasn't always had one of the best running games in the league to back up him.

agree, but the years he doesnt have those things are the years they dont make the playoffs.

i'd take him 7 days a week over ben but all us fans have very short memories. he had 25 INT's a year ago

  3. interesting in deed. Would have never thought of that. Now how many of those are Parcells...

Local radio was talking about Boston-NY hate rivarly but with Jets,Rangers, and some degree Mets but not the Giants and most fans who called in agreed..there's no sense of the Boston-NY thing. One analysis was aside from not in the same division was the two teams are step brothers from the family of Parcells. And they seem to play each other every preseason;)

theres simply no rivaly with the Giants, the 2 teams have played 1 meaningful game against each other since I've been alive. it's hard to have the same animosity as games with the jets or yankees

  4. The only thing to take into consideration is his health, which I fully believe will be up to par come March. I personally think he's at least very close to pre-surgery form, and is going to surpass his athleticism that he had before the surgery.

i think a lot of colt fans want to believe this and keep saying it out loud hoping that makes it come true. but if all were going great and he was on track to a full recovery like everyone wants to believe........ wouldnt irsay do something that put a lot of this Manning stuff to bed once and for all? or at least say something that comforted his fan base? by letting rumors swirl he knows its not a good situation for the organization or manning. and i'm sure he has enough respect for manning to not keep him hanging if there was no need. things like that lead me to believe the scale is tipping to manning not being the colts qb next year

  5. The likely story is that he found out it happened after the fact, swept it under the rug, and moved on to more pressing issues... ...like winning championships! Face it, he didn't do anything even remotely close to what the Patriots pulled on the professional level. http://en.wikipedia....iki/Jim_Tressel

he lost his job over the incident. i'm sure it was just a little issue swept under the rug. no wrong doing. people lose their jobs for something so little all the time

  6. IM not totally convinced that Cundiffs bad kick was all his fault. The play clock was at 12 seconds and he had to rush the kick. Why didn't Harbaugh call a timeout? No reason to ever let your kicker have to rush a field goal. Not saying it would've changed the outcome but it sure wouldn't have hurt.

i can agree there. i should rephrase it as "they" choked. they panicked. why is their kicker sprinting on to the field, rushing to get a kick off when you have a time out? Harbaugh was asked and he said it didn't cross his mind (or something along those lines). the series before when they passed on a 50 yarder and went for it on 4th and 6. harbaugh and an asst coach are in a shoving match and end up using a time out. well coached teams dont have much of that. i'm not saying harbaugh isnt an excellent coach, just saying good teams handle those game situations and execute

  7. I'm giving an honest opinion. Not trying to "burn" them. People are taking my comments as if I'm trying to take them down a notch because I'm bitter about my own teams failure. I made peace with that issue. When your opponent misses a game tying 32 yard FG, that's luck. When your opponents veteran WR gets hit in the numbers and drops a sure game winning TD in the waning seconds, that's luck. Y'all got lucky. It was a good fight, a great game. Up until the last minute, the Pats made their own luck. Wilfork is a monster and you guys should be sending that man flowers or somethin. Speaking of Luck, see y'all next year.

and as a Pats i feel very lucky to win that game, trust me. on the other side, i dont think ravens fans are saying they were unlucky. they lost because they blew opportunities. it was not bad luck evans dropped the TD, that was not a fluke. if thats welker, that catch is secured 98/100 times. cundiff didnt miss that kick because of bad luck. he choked. nerves are about the only thing that would cause an nfl kicker to yank a 32 yarder like that. the Pats handled the pressure better than the ravens did and thats why they are advancing

  8. Please don't take this personally. The Pats have stumbled listlessly into the SB. Their performance was outshined by a handful of key errors by the Ravens. Brady seemed to be stricken blind by his own stardom. The Pats defense made it's best plays by witnessing absurd playcalling by the Ravens, a game ending drop and a shanked 32 YRD FG. The Patriots nation has as much cause to be happy as they do to be concerned. Happy because they won, concerned because they sucked.

i love the dis-crediting of the Pats win and moving on to the SB. in '06 the colts beat the same ravens without even scoring a TD and it was just a case of the colts playing great on D and doing what they needed on O. the pats grind one out and its luck. the playoffs are about survival. you win and move on. no style points

  9. Getting scared...are we?The tebow train rolls into 'NE' country soon. The broncos will jam welker at the line of scrimmage all day,and go after brady.I don't think 'NE' has any hope of actually winning this game.Their only advantage is they're at home. The broncos will win 31-17.I was exactly right about the pitt game(look at my past comments).I'm confident that i'm right again.

    OWNED!!!!!!!!

  10. You were the guy that said timmy had 189 yards, when in fact he had 316.lol The pats will stuff the box, just like pitt and their secondary will get burnt big time!I think denver will come directly at and challenge brady.

you're full off solid football insight. the pats beat denver without doing anything you just mentioned. But, after watching Pitt make those mistakes, you are correct, belichick, the greatest coach of our generation will do exactly what Pitt did.

how have you not been contacted by the various teams looking to fill a coaching vacancy?

  11. The broncos will win this game as well. The pats secondary is horrible and their running game is subpar. They also can't get any real pressure on the QB(CARTER IS OUT),so i fully expect denver wins this game,if they can pressure brady with dumervil and miller.I think they win by 14 or more.

all this is true.... horrible secondary, subpar running game, cant get pressure. has been the case since week 1. yet the Pats went 13-3

first rd bye. and beat denver already. on to the AFCC

  12. i have not heard all of the news, but i thought he was only going to "assist" and BOB was still going to be the "OC" my guess is that they will work together maybe having only one call the plays on game day

i could see there being a 5 year plan in the works

  13. Yes.

In the best case scenario, we dont have any need at the QB position.

Manning threw for 4,700 yards in 2010 and led us to the playoffs...

In the best case scenario (we still have much the same team), he does that again in 2012..

..and we have no need at the QB position.

    That's exactly what I'm saying.

    the very definition of denial

i guess we'll just ignore the part where he had offseason surgery to repair nerve damage in his neck, the nerve didnt respond so he had further procedures, which did not heal in time for the 2011 season so he missed the entire year. the team went 2-14. recent reports say he can throw the ball 30 yards right now

but besides that, how'd you like the play Mrs. Lincoln?

  14. I think colt fans just dont want to face the realization that the manning era is close to being done if not done already. 3 years ago it was a good idea to find his replacement and talk about it. at that time it was miles away and seemed like a problem for the next generation. now thats it's really upon you nobody wants to face the realness of it. by bringing in his eventual replacement means the end is really near. thats not comforting to manning fans. by having the jim sorgi's of the world as the # 2 means manning is here for time to come. using a # overall pick on Luck means the end is closer than you want to realize

and i dont blame you. we had a taste of it here in NE when brady had his knee problems. rehab wasn't going well, staph infections, may need another surgery, etc. keep cassel and trade brady?

  15. http://www.nfl.com/n..._headline_stack

    Why? Why? Why???????

Why would you downgrade or demote yourself in your own job? You have one of the most high powered offenses in the league! Or maybe you can interview for the Colts head coach position!

Not to mention...why is he interviewing during playoff time?! No need to bring any interferences for the Patriots at this time...

definitely not a demotion. the pay increase is huge jump. some coaches prefer the college game. this week during the buy is the time to be interviewing. It's how the Pats/Weis/Notre Dame handled it back in 04. the Pats went to win the SB that year as Weis had already accepted the ND job. as long as it's handled correctly there's no issue

  16. this whole Rex / Manning / Sanchez thing is EXACTLY why belichick treats the media the way he does. and you cant blame him.

if it were turned around and BB had sanchez as his QB and was asked the same question it would go...... mark is our QB, we're gonna play the game with the guys we have.

^fool^ Stephen A. Smith: ya, but if you could get peyton manning would you take him?....... BB: mark is our QB, he gives our team the best chance to win on sunday.

but since rex cant help himself and has to run his mouth at every chance he keeps the conversation going just long enough to tell the world if he could take manning over his own qb he would do it.
