On Wednesday, Peyton Manning’s career with the Indianapolis Colts ended. Selected first overall by the Colts on April 18, 1998, Manning played for the team for 13 memorable seasons. Colts Owner and CEO Jim Irsay bid Manning farewell as the team and the quarterback each start a new chapter.

Indianapolis has chosen not to exercise the contract option on quarterback Peyton Manning. The four-time MVP and 11-time Pro Bowl Manning is an unrestricted free agent. After 13 seasons as the Colts’ starting quarterback, Manning missed the 2011 season with injury issues.

Assistance to storm victims in southern Indiana continues to take place around the state of Indiana. On Friday, Huddles Frozen Yogurt will donate a portion of its sales to help benefit individuals affected by last Friday’s deadly storms.

Wide receiver Blair White’s 2010 rookie season was one of promise. His second season was anything but fun for the Michigan State product. White played in seven games without catching a pass before ending the season on injured reserve. He hopes to return to the field this spring to prepare for a better 2012.

Indianapolis has reached agreement on contract terms with defensive end Robert Mathis. Mathis, a fifth-round pick in the 2003 draft, is the second-leading player in sacks in franchise history.

Long-snapper Justin Snow happened to be at the right place at the right time years ago when the Colts were scouting talent at Baylor. Twelve seasons later, Snow has pieced together one of the longest careers in franchise history. He is shooting for his 13th time around the block in 2012.

Assistance to the many Hoosiers impacted by the deadly storms in southern Indiana continues. Efforts throughout the state have generated an outpouring of help, and the Colts have contributed $75,000 to the cause. WISH-TV also contributed with a phone bank effort during the weekend that generated a financial boost. The club hopes others will join the effort to extend helping hands to affected individuals.

Hoosiers come together with WISH-TV in a big way to help families affected by the tornadoes in southern Indiana. The Hoosiers Helping Hoosiers Phone Bank netted more than $200,000 since Saturday.

The Indianapolis Colts have pledged $50,000 to help those affected by tornados on Friday in southern Indiana. The club hopes others can join in assistance following yesterday’s deadly storms.

Offensive guard Joe Reitz saw the first action of his career last year for the Colts. The local product had been with Baltimore and Houston previously on the practice squad after playing collegiate basketball. He enjoyed his first professional season, and really enjoyed playing in his hometown.

NFL FLAG powered by USA Football, the premier youth flag football program in the United States, grew to a record participation figure in 2011 with more than 169,000 boys and girls age 5-17 playing in leagues across 49 states and Washington, D.C.

Justin Johnson of Brownsburg is the latest Colts season ticket holder to gain a benefit from supporting his favorite NFL team. Johnson will attend the Indianapolis-New York Jets game at MetLife Stadium later this year, courtesy of the Colts. The ‘BIG APPLE TRIP CONTEST’ is the latest gesture of thanks from the team to its outstanding fans.

Philip Wheeler found his way into the starting lineup 11 times in 2011, the highest seasonal total of his four-year career. Wheeler produced 80 tackles to rank fourth on the squad. Three times he reached double digits in tackles last year. Wheeler aims to keep up the impact.

Center Jeff Saturday just concluded his 13th season with the Colts. Saturday has played in 197 career games and while Head Coach Chuck Pagano believes there is still action left in the veteran center, he said the Pro Bowl lineman still is deciding whether to continue playing.
