  1. Whatever. Take what you want. You were wrong. Kaep by far had the best game of any of the QBs that played the Ravens. If his D bothered to show up in the first half, he would have won - by a lot.

Football game are 60 minutes.. Err more than that with Manning since he was the only one that went past 60 w/ the Ravens. I was not wrong, Kap vs. Manning is the only opinion one here.

Kap had SLIGHTLY better stats, but couldn't get a lead.

Manning managed a lead the entire game, and it was a Defensive collapse with less than a minute left that cost his team the game.

  2. You forgetting the 2 special teams TD"s and the pick 6 and fumble he gave up that led to 14 points verse the Ravens???? Fail...smh

Brady threw 2 ints in the 4th quarter so his team didn't even have a chance at winning. Luck got a lot of yards but couldn't turn them into points. Kap had an amazing second half, but he never once had the lead.

I can see an argument for Kap Vs. Manning, but Brady/Luck weren't even in the same league this year.

Edit- Actually you know who the best was???

    Flacco ;)

  3. Peyton put up 21. Special teams put up the other 14.

    Brady put up 13.

And Kaep put up the most at 31.

If any QB did the best against the Ravens, it was easily Kaep.  302 yards passing, 62 rushing, 1 TD passing AND 1 TD rushing, 1 INT and 31 points.

Keep your anti-Manning cap on. I'll take the QB who has the game won with under a minute left, and needed the other team to have a miracle hail mary to win, than the QB who couldn't get a lead the entire game.

  4. You forgot Manning's fumble that also led to Ravens 7 points.

Not sure how you think Manning's 3 TOs is better than what any of the other QBs did?

Easy, he personally put at least 3 times as many points on the board as any other QB, and if not for a brainfart by the Denver D, they had that game won by 7 points in the final minute. All the other QBs turned the ball over as well and never put their teams in positions to win, especially your boy Brady in critical times.

Brady's 2nd last drive vs. the Ravens

(No Huddle, Shotgun) T.Brady pass short middle intended for A.Hernandez INTERCEPTED by D.Ellerbe (P.McPhee) at BLT 16. D.Ellerbe to BLT 18 for 2 yards. The Replay Assistant challenged the incomplete pass ruling, and the play was Upheld.

Brady's last play vs. the Ravens.

2nd and 10 at BAL 22 (No Huddle, Shotgun) T.Brady pass deep left intended for B.Lloyd INTERCEPTED by C.Williams at BLT -5. Touchback.

Not sure who you thought was better.

  5. He was? He had three TOs that equalled 17 points. Brady had two turnovers. Kaep one I believe. Not sure about Luck. And neither of those QBs threw the pick to effectively end the game.

Yeah he was I edited my post to include stats.

    Kap - 302 1TD 1int

    Manning - 290 3TD 2int

    Brady - 320 1TD 2int

    Luck - 288 0TD 1int

Neither of those QB's had the game won and needed a hail mary in the 4th for the Ravens to comeback.

  7. COLD WEATHER---...I am a big Peyton fan and supporter, and I hope he wins the Super Bowl any year if we are out of the hunt, but I'm not sure if that will happen in Denver despite the immense amount of talent on this Broncos team...As you witnessed time and time again watching the Colts through the years and again in the Playoffs last year Peyton really struggles in cold weather and high pressure playoff games......Thoughts and Opinions??

Funny how Peyton was the best QB vs. The Ravens of all their 4 opponents. Peyton had more passing TD's than Brady, Kap, and Luck did vs. the Ravens in their 3 games combined.

    Kap - 302 1TD 1int

    Manning - 290 3TD 2int

    Brady - 320 1TD 2int

    Luck - 288 0TD 1int

Also funny how Manning's playoff QB rating is higher than Brady, who is considered a clutch playoff QB. Why do wins get recorded as a team stat, not a QB stat again?

    This thread was fail.

  8. I think what you saw as the season progressed was his receivers get better and get used to his Indy offense which is why things looked better as the season went along.

I agree about his MVP season but I think you also have to consider the schedule he played. When he played top teams he lost to all of them excpet for the Ravens late in the season who in turn then beat him in the playoffs.

No, you just have you're anti-Manning cap on. Manning was definitely looking better at the end of the season. How his receivers run doesn't effect the velocity of the ball or whip of his arm.

    Manning playoffs Vs. Ravens

At the same time, Manning was never a Jay Cutler/Brett Favre type guy who whipped them in there, or threw spirals like Drew Brees. He's always thrown with a bit of a wobbler, but I really think those throws show he had a bit more zip at the end of the season.

So it's better to lose against teams like Arizona than only top teams? What's that say about NE's consistency? Broncos were 1-1 vs. the Champs last season in a game that needed a Broncos DB to forget how to cover a hail mary. Wasn't NE 0-2 and got handled by them?

  9. Of course Manning calls ESPN to get the cameras out there to make a big deal of it. Meanwhile Brady is just quietly going about his business practicing with Amendola and Hernandez over in California and has been for weeks now. Difference is that Brady didn't call the media to put cameras all over them while they did it. Manning loves the media and loves the attention, whereas Brady would prefer to remain out of the spot light.

Manning is a media * at this point, which is intelligent of him in a way because hes very deeply invested in Papa Johns now, so the more hes in the media and "branding" himself the better I guess.

    picard-facepalm.jpg?1240934151

    - Peyton and Eli have been doing this offseason camp together for years. Media is going to be all over it whether they're called or not.

    - There was news about Amendola and Brady weeks ago yes, I guess they're the ones who called ESPN too?

    - Brady's married a supermodel and you say Peyton's the one who tries to get attention? Honestly neither of them vie for attention more than the other, Manning is probably just more known because he is a solid actor and does good spots. His guest appearance in SNL was one of the best guest appearances they've ever had. Brady did SNL too but wasn't as good.

  10. In terms of Elway he offered Peyton the 19 mil because that is what it took to sign him. If he thought he could have signed him for less, I am sure he would have as if anything Elway has proved to be a shrew business man. Now he owes him $40 mil guaranteed. Very risky IMO for an aging QB whose arm is still not 100 percent playing in a cold weather enviornment come playoff time.

Peyton was the best QB last season evidenced by the most MVP votes for a QB, and his arm was getting better and better as the season went on. Why would it be risky? The initial deal was risky, but that's why it had the opt-out ability before next year. Now it's just common sense.
  11. I'm not sure why you thought I was implying drops. I was just surprised by this information. I had assumed that a speed guy with a high YPC would have a fair number of deep target completions.. but apparently he's a high YAC guy from shorter routes.

    From the article:

"And while deep passing does require adept quarterback play, other Oakland receivers have fared much better than Heyward-Bey during that same time period... Rod Streater caught five of 14 opportunities (35.7%) in 2012. In 2010, Jacoby Ford and Louis Murphy caught nine of 28 deep targets (32.1%), while Heyward-Bey hauled in just three of 20 (15.0%)."

Not sure you can use the QB argument to explain this unless they were always underthrowing him :)

The beginning of the article said he dropped 24 of 164 catchable balls in his career. The rest of those stats are superfluous and ignore the situation. We're going to blame him for 64 missed deep balls, when he's only dropped 24 catchable balls?
  12. So can we sign him or will he have to be drafted not real sure about stuff when it comes to Canadian players

Doesn't matter, he'll go undrafted. we'll pick him up as a UFA the moment draft ends. we probably already have him coming to camp, just can't make it official until after the draft. So this also tells me that Grigs may not be taking a D lineman first. if we get this guy, everythign becomes even more crowded than it already is. I'm still banking on WR/CB

    Keenan Allen. Big Fan.

Thats him cutting up Desmond Trufant

I wouldn't say it doesn't matter, as CIS players have been drafted by the NFL before. To answer your question Coltfan12, he would have to go through the same process as a player who played in the NCAA.
  13. 2 TDs and 0 TOs in 3 playoff games. Sounds like a game manager to me. But whatever, keep to your revisionist history.

Wow I didn't realize how ineffective Brady was in those playoffs. It's really as testament to how important a role defense and special teams play in the finals.
  14. So that would be six less picks than Luck and a whole lot less fumbles.

So now you're argument is Brady was better in his second year, than Andrew in his first?

    Ok...

This is a Manning legacy thread...

Why are you derailing/trolling topics all the time?

  15. Sure. The passing rules have changed but Brady did not lose in the playoffs his first season starting.

So the passing rule changes explain your reason that the Colts in '12 were better than the Pats in '01? Your points been disproven, thank you try again.
  16. Brady won the SB with a worse team in '01 than Luck had last year...

Stop while you're ahead. Less pro bowlers, less wins the previous season, new coaching staff, rookie QB, rookie Head Coach, Head Coach swap mid-season... Yeah Colts had it easy.
  17. That's your business. As a person who is very much into science and physics, it is a game of numbers. You might hear a sappy story of someone having "more heart" but that is complete * and oddly enough, something I roll my eyes at. At the end of the day, you can have as much heart and determination as you want, but you need the physicality to carry out your mind's will.

I think history has proven exceptions across all sports where guys without amazing physical talents can be more effective than guys with exceptional abilities.
  18. I'm just going to say if you don't think Chris Johnson is an elite RB you haven't watched any of his games outside of the ones against us, we always have a way of shutting him down ;)

Dwayne Bowe is a top-10, imo top 5, WR and has only caught 8 TDs the last 2 seasons.
