One thing to take a top player and they be a bust
Another thing to take a project and already know it'd be a bust
You knew? Got it. Did you stay at a Holiday Inn?
-
He drafted a project player in the 1st round
Not saying fire the man, but don't praise him like he's the best thing like sliced bread
As soon as you show me a long term GM that has not a had a first round failure, I'll concede you have an argument.

Our biggest issue is the fact we didn't win the SB. If we had ...this thread wouldn't exist.
Oh wait................never mind.

The idea that Grigson has not done a great job is so laughable on so many levels, it removes the opportunity to even discuss it. IMO, he is not at a make or break year, he has not been carried by the selection of Luck, and he has done a stellar job of finding back of the draft and FA talent.
I wonder how many of those who are throwing him under the bus or seriously doubting his future now, were also throwing him under the bus for trading up to get Hilton...
I love the NFL draft....but I hate how it turns fans into armchair GM's who prejudge before it's due, and who use revisionist history as a bully pulpit to vent negativity.
-
Seems to be interested in Soccer and Germany. And throwing the long ball.
Chicks dig the long ball.
-
The non-qb talent today is probably about the same as it was before Grigson arrived.
I disagree with this at nearly every position group.
-
He's a dweeb who got a good job.
-
He's already better than Griff Whalen so I'll take it
If he is smart, he will be humble and respectful when asking Griff Whalen advice on how to perform in the NFL. Until then, he is just another attitudy Judy WR who happens to have a familiar last name. JMO.

Far more than the value of this thread.

Not a second round talent. no QB past Mariota/Winston is even 3rd round grade IMO. I feel for all of the teams that will reach for those QB's, and realize their search for a top 16 QB in this league is still on...
If he somehow made it to round 5, I would take Mannion in a NY minute as our backup for luck.
Well, you know that those grades aren't coming from NFL people, they are opinions. For what it's worth, I would love Mannion in Indy. Ain't gonna happen though.
-
Most people don't know Mannion because he played at OS. His numbers fell of last year because their WR crops was awful. So was run blocking, and you know haw that effects the passing game. Make no mistake, he is a prototypical pocket passer. His biggest negative is he is not fleet of foot.
-
Sean Mannion is a guy i would like, but i think he may be gone in the 6th where I want him. I'm not sure of his stock right now. It's a good thought, personally I'd like to grab one as a UDFA. Either way we need an option for when Hasselback retires to backup Luck.
Mannion will be gone in the second round.

At St. Louis is a dangerous one now that teams blitz in the preseason. That Defense is gonna be scary......

Mr. Irsay:
Welcome to the best *@#%$%%^$ franchise in the NFL.

Nothing could ever erase the pain of watching the 2003 game against the Jets. 41-0 is like 3 hours of humiliation.
We were completely and totally owned. No other game comes close.
-
If is is sustained for 2 more years...yes. I think this years FA movement was not atypical.
-
Good crief.

2 interceptions against Denver in the playoffs are prime example of Luck making bone head throws. He tries to make plays too much instead accepting the defense won on the play and throwing it away
Has nothing to do with the running game as much as people blame it. Some picks yes, but not all. Some are just Luck not knowing how to live to fight another down
I'll just say I don't like your choice of adjectives. A player getting busted for pot before the combine is a "bone headed" move. Nothing that Andrew Luck has done since becoming a Colt in my eyes, has even resembled "bone headed". However, there has been a few fan posts......
-
Mild in comparison to fans complaining about anything after going 2-14......then going
11-5
11-5 +1
11-5 +2
However, take solace that when this era of Colt football winds down, over half of this whiny fan base will disintegrate like a cheap suit.

I calculate approximately another 3,876,234 ideas that could become threads.
-
Why?
-
But who could we get on lead vocals?
I hear Brown was a "crooner".
-
Good signing
-
Wow...hard crowd. He was trying to say something positive people. The intent of the post is dead on.....we pick at #29 because we are that good of a team....and gems can be found throughout the draft. Top 5 pay off more often than later, but after about 20 picks....it is an absolute crap shoot beyond anything other than stats.
Factors that can make or break a player include:
scheme
home life
influences
coaching
maturity
and more
many of those above factors change as soon as they go pro.
Colts back to work, The FA class has arrived in their new home
