  1. He drafted a project player in the 1st round

Not saying fire the man, but don't praise him like he's the best thing like sliced bread

As soon as you show me a long term GM that has not a had a first round failure, I'll concede you have an argument.

  2. The idea that Grigson has not done a great job is so laughable on so many levels, it removes the opportunity to even discuss it. IMO, he is not at a make or break year, he has not been carried by the selection of Luck, and he has done a stellar job of finding back of the draft and FA talent.

I wonder how many of those who are throwing him under the bus or seriously doubting his future now, were also throwing him under the bus for trading up to get Hilton...

I love the NFL draft....but I hate how it turns fans into armchair GM's who prejudge before it's due, and who use revisionist history as a bully pulpit to vent negativity.

  3. Not a second round talent.  no QB past Mariota/Winston is even 3rd round grade IMO.  I feel for all of the teams that will reach for those QB's, and realize their search for a top 16 QB in this league is still on...

If he somehow made it to round 5, I would take Mannion in a NY minute as our backup for luck.

Well, you know that those grades aren't coming from NFL people, they are opinions. For what it's worth, I would love Mannion in Indy. Ain't gonna happen though.

  4. Sean Mannion is a guy i would like, but i think he may be gone in the 6th where I want him. I'm not sure of his stock right now. It's a good thought, personally I'd like to grab one as a UDFA. Either way we need an option for when Hasselback retires to backup Luck.

Mannion will be gone in the second round.

  5. 2 interceptions against Denver in the playoffs are prime example of Luck making bone head throws. He tries to make plays too much instead accepting the defense won on the play and throwing it away

Has nothing to do with the running game as much as people blame it. Some picks yes, but not all. Some are just Luck not knowing how to live to fight another down

I'll just say I don't like your choice of adjectives. A player getting busted for pot before the combine is a "bone headed" move. Nothing that Andrew Luck has done since becoming a Colt in my eyes, has even resembled "bone headed". However, there has been a few fan posts......

  6. Wow...hard crowd. He was trying to say something positive people. The intent of the post is dead on.....we pick at  #29 because we are that good of a team....and gems can be found throughout the draft. Top 5 pay off more often than later, but after about 20 picks....it is an absolute crap shoot beyond anything other than stats.

Factors that can make or break a player include:

    scheme

    home life

    influences

    coaching

    maturity

    and more

many of those above factors change as soon as they go pro.
