Was a decent game…we held up when we had to. Minshew did almost cost us the game not with his first pick but with his dang near almost second pick…we fortunately had the defensive turnovers or this game would have been a loss.

    Minshew had a good game.

I'm listening to Steichen's presser. I think the situation deserves better than what he's giving.

Steichen declined to say whether the decision was entirely about Leonard's play on the field. He declined to say whether it's concerning that Leonard doesn't know why he was released one day after being told he'd be inactive. He did say the decision to release Leonard wasn't made because they were upset with his public comments.

I'm guessing he voiced his opinion during their meeting, not in public.

I’m still not sure about Staley and the Chargers. They’ve got a healthy Herbert, the Browns, Bengals and Steelers all have bad offenses now, and yet the Chargers still can’t take advantage to get into the playoffs so far.

I think I would put Staley at the top.  The Chargers were expecting a better season with the team they have.   They can still pull out a playoff spot which would save his job.

I think our problem will be relying on Minshew to win, because the Bucs will sit on the run as other teams have done against us for a while now. And, the Bucs are good at it - really good.

If our passrush can't get pressure on Mayfield him and Evans will carve up our secondary.

i think the bye week should push the Colts to a win.   This is a big test for Steichen.   This team must come off the bye week focused and with a good game plan.

They couldn’t run against the Saints when they used Moss. Plus they got behind as well. It looked like Hines down the middle several times.

You’re giving only part of the picture probably to make your one sided point about Steichen when it was our D that gave up 38 points in a row, 2 games in a row at home.

Teams’ game plans to put it in the hands of Minshew will be expected by putting more in the box. So getting ahead and staying ahead is the way for us to win games, thus relying on our D to stay ahead. So Minshew will be the primary reason our running game sees daylight more.

Running Taylor only the first play of the second half and then not again was a mistake.

Considering the situations of the playoff contenders we have as good a chance as any of them.  Especially with our schedule.  As always is the case it comes down to quarterback play.  Our future rides on Minchews playing ability and him protecting the ball.  He has talent so it’s all riding on him imo.

I agree to a point.   i think more rests on the game plan and coaching.  When Taylor had a huge first half against the Saints, he only had 1 carry in the second half (the first play).

I thought only running QB's got injured, Homer better check his notes because there were about at least 7 or 8 people that focused and pushed their narrative on that after AR got injured??chuckling homer simpson GIF-over half those guys are pure pocket passers. Am I missing something? I can't wait to hear the naysayers on this one haha

A running QB does increase his odds of being hurt, there is no denying that.

He's at 63% because he throws 10 screen passes a game (which supports the idea that Reich is a big part of the problem). I don't think his rating is okay; it's 5th worse in the league, 75.9. He averages 5.4 yards/attempt, which is the lowest mark in the league. Adjusted net yards/attempt includes sack yardage and INTs, and there he's at 3.67, second worst in the league, behind only Daniel Jones. He's at 2.8% TD%.

Stuff like on-target percentage is subjective, but he's second worst in the league there, 64.4%; Minshew is at 74%. He faces a lot of pressure, but it's about league median, 20.8% (Daniel Jones is at 30.5%, Zach Wilson 30.9%).

He's just not doing anything to contribute to effective offense. He's one of the most inefficient passers in the league. He doesn't beat pressure, not in the air or on the ground (with any regularity; he had a couple of good plays last night). And just watching him play, it looks like he struggles with the basics -- he's slow to recognize coverages and make reads (and this was supposed to be his major advantage coming to the NFL), he doesn't have a strong arm, he hasn't been very accurate, and he doesn't respond to pressure well.

I don't think he's doing okay. I don't think it's all on him, and I'm not closing the door on him. But I don't think his performance has been encouraging at all. (Tua and Trevor had similar starts. It would be silly to write off a talented rookie this early.)

i meant, OK for a rookie in that offense.   I'm not a fan of his but I wouldn't call him a bust yet.

I'm REALLY surprised that the Giants or Jets didn't take a flier on him. The Giants have nothing, Wentz isn't a pro bowler, but he can play good at times..

I understand the Jets not signing him.  They have a young QB they need to figure out.
