Pat McAfee, the dude can swim drunk.
-
Angry Pat is one of my top three favorite players for the Colts. IMO, he brings an old school toughness to our defense. I've always liked the guy. I hope he flourishes under Pagano and Munasky.
-
I like that pick up. He is definitely an upgrade of the DTs we have now...of course my 90 year old grandma with dimentia is better than them too. I do think he could add a bit of attitude to our defense. Is it just me or do we have the most polite defense in the league?

You can break your arm reaching like that. Be careful!
People can lay out all the reasons they want to, the cold hard facts say that our team, our coaches, our schemes haven't been up to par over the years despite all the wins. It's been ten years since we had a losing season and the only difference I saw last year was no Manning.
Was his abscence the only reason we lost? Nope. If was the catalyst for an implosion. We really shouldn't pursue a singular line of thought to find answers for last year.
The reasons are many;
No Peyton
No competent back-up QB
Inept coaching
Antiquated defensive schemes
Injury
Poor decision making from the FO
You're wrong. It was both and then some. Lets not forget that Peyton got these same "bums" to the SB just 2 years ago. Coyer and his flawed cover-2. Caldwell and his perceived pop-warner skills. Peyton took a fairly inept team to the SB. This is why, year after year, the pundits would start out by saying this is the year that the Colts fall, and yet we would come out with another 13/14 win season. Finally they were right, and by no coincidence, it was also our first year without Manning since the days of Harbaugh.
You, sir, have hit the nail on the head. Please, submit a resume' to either NFLN or ESPN! I couldn't agree more. The Colt's weren't built around Peyton, rather Peyton built the Colts.
-
I personally think our biggest problem this season was our line. I think I like Ben Ijilana at RG, maybe a new RT a LG and C (to back up Jeff if he returns). With rebuilding being the mantra, we can build the line around Castonzo and younger players
-
I am rather indifferent to this situation. There is no rule that says a rookie qb needs an old vet wr. Look at what Andy Dalton and A.J. Green did this year. Reggie is a great player, but if he wanted to come back he wouldn't have said, "I'm not going to make it easy for them." With the way he has been talking to the media, I feel like if next season were rocky, he would become a cancer. If we go the route of Luck, is Reggie going to go to the media when he isn't getting balls? Reggie just concerns me with the amount of money he wants and his whole attitude. And Irsay calls Peyton a politician?

blackmon!!
get it?? Theyre colors!! ok...maybe not
Luck and Blair White? Best I could do

As much as I would love for Peyton to be with this team next season, no. I honestly hope they don't, as much as it breaks my heart to say that. $28 mil with no certainty? Won't happen

Mayock is a draft analyst on NFL Network. And, I just figured I'd share this with y'all

Not to be disrespectful, but that's like asking do you want the flu. No. I'll stick with younger players with better attitudes regardless of who is playing qb. It's going to cut the playing time of younger players that we may get in the draft or ufa's. He was really the predecessor for the receivers we have today, but why waste the money and a roster spot for an old vet that hasn't been in the league in a year who also wasn't a starter in TN. They don't have what you would call a great receiving corps. And if he ain't starting there, he is pointless here.

We should try the Bible Code to interpret Jim's tweets.

To pay Peyton or not to pay Peyton. That is the question.
I wonder if Shakespeare could write a play this good lol

I am not the type that would say I told you so. I would be ecstatic if Peyton returned. If not, I will remember the good times. If the Colts and Peyton part ways and they play against each other, I would hope for a shoot out with the Colts edging Peyton's team. It's hard to believe that we are at such a crossroads just two years removed from a Super Bowl appearance.

I feel bad for Eli and I'm sure Peyton is upset, too. As he was being announced MVP he was being asked about Peyton. Come on, let the guy have one night.
-
I can't wait to hear some of the things you guys come up with for this one
Peyton-"They ask way too much of me on this team. Qb, Oc, Hc, and, now. team Doctor? I need a raise!"
-
Eli disagrees with your philosophy kind sir.

be ready for disappointment.
Why would I be ready for disappointment? The Colts have to do what is best for them. The Colts have not come out and said Peyton is gone. Likely? Yea, I'd say so. Definite? Not until Peyton Manning is no longer listed on the Colts roster. This topic was intended to spread a little hope. I think when a team is facing an enormous turnover like we have begun, hope for fans is necessary. I find it discouraging that so many fans want to throw Peyton Manning away and forget what he has meant to this team.
-
I suppose I worded that wrong. I'm sorry folks
-
He has a close association with Peyton. I forget how he said it, but basically, he said that Peyton will be a Colt next season. I just thought it was a refreshing idea amidst the gloom and doom we have been hearing since last August
-
It just seems to me that he is the only one that sees Peyton being a Colt. It is great to hear from a voice that actually knows a lot about this team and this situation.
-
I sure did too ruk. I think NFL qb's are in transition. As the League becomes more geared towards the pass, the pass rushers become a higher priority. This means that qb's will now need to be able to make plays out of the pocket. I think it is rather interesting.
-
Why does it seem all the coaches anymore have Italian sounding names?
-
That's what I'm thinking too. It's just with the pass rush of the Giants, Tom may not be terribly effective. If I recall either Osi or Justin Tuck didn't play the first time around. Thanks for the advice

I have him on my playoff challenge team with a 3x multiplier....with the ankle should I keep him or get someone else? The multiplier is what scares me.

I agree. There were some amazing games, plays, and memories. I'm glad I got to witness it. The 09 season, where we had like 9 come from behind wins was the most fun to watch. I think the best thing about it was that in the midst of all of our success, our players carried themselves with dignity and respect for the game, the team, and the fans.
