  1. One week the defense needs major overhauls, the next it is working just fine. One week Caldwell is the man and doing a great job, the next he needs to win a game to keep his job. Either the guy is a delusional clown or he is suffering from dementia or some other medical condition.

  2. My first game at LOS was in 2008 vs. the Bears for the grand opening regular season game. That night was a little strange. I just had the sense that the fans weren't really into the game because so many of us were just checking out the new stadium and whining and moaning about our new seat locations, plus the Bears did a good job of taking us out of the game.

I bet if you go to one of the remaining games this year the atmosphere will be pathetic. LOS is a great modern stadium, the seats are comfortable and it is an interesting place just to look at, but with that being said, the atmosphere is pretty terrible compared to the dome. The place is too big, I got moved from the 10th row of the upper level in the dome, which were great seats, and got moved to the 600 level at LOS. The 600 level is ridiculously high and you are so far away from the action that you feel really detached from the game on the field, as opposed to the dome when everyone was right on top of the field.

Even the best "atmosphere" games at LOS, like New England in 2009 were nothing compared to the games in the dome.

  3. I understand (and remember from the old dot-com) that you hate the Patriots, and yes... to an extent, the 2007 season was all about Belichick giving the finger to the entire football-watching world. Let me ask though, what would you have done in that situation? If all of a sudden people who want to see you fail start calling out and questioning everything you've spent your entire life working toward? A 19-0 season with a 4th title would have cemented his legacy and Brady's, and would have created a "no disputing it" claim on the best single-season ever.

And you may be right about the fate of the 2011 team. I don't know. I'm sure not terribly confident in that defense. But as any Colts fans should know... anything is possible. It wasn't exactly Manning leading the postseason charge in 2006.

It didn't matter what Belichick did in 2007. There is already a huge asterisk next to all of his accomplishments from prior to 2007.

  4. Why is it beyond comprehension? ALL of the analysts have been saying that we are at best a 3 win team without Manning for years. I'm very disappointed but not surprised.

I'm not really surprised, it is just shocking to see a team that has had so much success be so terrible so suddenly. Also, I would argue that there is a pretty big difference between going 3-13 and 0-16

  5. IMO this is simply a stupid idea ... 1) IF Peyton is damaged goods we will get nothing for him. 2) By the looks of it, theres really not going to be any way to show that he is not damaged goods until next season.

    This.

No one is going to give up a significant draft pick for a 36 year old coming off his 3rd neck surgery. If he is healthy, the Colts have to keep him because they will have a heck of a better chance of winning a Super Bowl with PM for the next 3 years then they would while trying to develop Luck.

  6. I totally disagree that we are or will be considered one of the worst teams in history if we go 0-16.... IMO this just goes to show you how narrow a margin there is between winning and losing in the NFL.

This team has a lot of talent on it even with all of our injuries - things just havent went our way this year. I was really hoping for a better performance today, maybe once we have the top picked sealed maybe they will come out and play to win a game.

We would only be the 2nd team to go 0-16 ever, we would go down as one of the worst ever. We haven't even been competitive in a long time.

  7. I always suspected that if we lost Peyton for a season we would have a very hard time winning even one game, but now that it is actually happening, it is stunning to see. We are really getting close to being 0-16 and going down as one of the worst teams, if not the worst team in NFL history. With all of the success that this team has had over the past decade that they would just roll over and not even compete, not win one single game is so completely ridiculous that I don't even know what to think. I know we have some good players, Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis are the best pass rushing combo in the NFL, we have Reggie Wayne, Jeff Saturday and so much veteran leadership in that locker room that the though of going 0-16 is almost incomprehensible.

I think this year shows why we have gone one and done so many times in the playoffs. Not only has this team been extremely flawed for the last decade, but we really don't have as much leadership as we though and we have zero intangibles outside of #18.

  8. I've never seen a group of people like Tebow supporters give no credit at all to the rest of the team... IMHO Tebow was bad today. His team carried him to victory and the defense forced the fumble when Chicago was in FG range in OT.

You don't get it. He is never going to be a guy that throws for 400 yards and 5 touchdowns but he lifts everybody in that organization. Look at that team when he plays then look at that team when he doesn't play, it is undeniable that he lifts that team emotionally and makes them believe they can win every time.

He took over a 3-10 team last year and they went 2-1 when he took over.

This year he took over a 1-4 team and they have gone 7-1 since he took over.

  9. I don't see being courteous to others and refraining from personal insults as being lala land. In the real world people interact and get along. In the virtual world this is also possible.

The Colts own this board. It is owned by a private organization, therefore they have the right to run it the way they see fit.

I don't think they ask too much of their fanbase to set the same standards that the organization asks of all involved with it.

like Fili Moala (DIU)? Like Dede Dorsey (carrying a handgun without a permit)? Like Dom Rhodes (DIU)? Like Taj Smith (DUI)? Like Pat McAfee (swimming in the canal)? Or my personal favorite, Bill Polian who beats up opposing teams employees?

  10. Philly has to be the worst...the horror stories I've read and heard. Opposing fans being beat unconscious in restrooms, dumping beer on visiting fans....remember the Vet had its own jail? That says a lot right there. I went on to their message board before the game against them last year just to have a civil debate and ended up getting death threats if I were to ever come to Philly....granted it's anonymous interwebs tough guys, but you don't see that crap on here. And this was on the Eagles' official fan forum. Just terrible. Intimidating? Wrong word....disgusting and classless thugs? Sure (I know not all Eagles fans are like this, but the bad ones make whole fanbase look terrible)

While receiving death threats is over the top and completely disgusting, this message board is like playing CandyLand inside of a * house.

  11. The 05 playoff game against the Steelers was terrible. My teacher had a poster in her room of "the tackle". I looked at the photo everyday with anger. It saddened me Nick got tackled only by his shoelaces.

That play was unreal. When Manning got sacked I left my seat and started to leave the game. I was heading down the stairs, my brother and my dad were already ahead of my but I turned around to see one more play, assuming Pittsburgh was going to punch it in, but then that play happened. It was surreal. The emotion roller coaster of that game was incredible. I still can't believe that Harper, even with a stab wound, couldn't make Roethlisberger miss. And then the anti climactic field goal by Vanderjerk, I watched that kick with a sick feeling in my stomach, because it was so far right that I knew it never had a chance.

  12. I think John Fox deserves Coach of the Year for being willing to coach to his players strengths rather than force them to be what they are not unlike a bad coach who makes Painter and Orlovsky try to be Peyton Manning.

John Fox is holding Tebow back. Sure, he's run a few option plays a game but if Fox was smart he would get Tebow into an up tempo, shotgun offense.

  13. Because in the NFL players and owners do not give a rat's butt about the fans. They only care about the fans when the fans are emptying their wallets to buy season tickets, merchandise, etc. When it is the offseason, the players and owners don't have one minute to waste on us peasants.
