Honestly I have never heard of them. I don't pay much attention to media heads outside of Indianapolis because they don't know our team like JMV does for example.

I had to stop listening about 2/3 of the way through because it was nothing but ranting.  Sounds like a blogger podcast -- as Jeff Saturday would characterize, a couple of guys blogging out of their mother's basement.

I didn't realize the all time wins at bama vs. bryant thing. That is a big deal potentially. I was guessing it was conceivable based on the ex usc coach being there now as a potential replacement for saban should he leave or want to leave. Saban is a defensive guru and has always stated he wouldn't entertain ever going back to NFL unless he had a franchise QB. Colts have one and have no defense. Perfect fit to me possibly. If Saban wants the record, then maybe we might get stuck with current staff one more year hoping bama wins 2017 and 2018, which would ease the pocket letting current staff go after 2 years into the extensions instead of 1 year into the 3 year deals. IDK

At this point, if Saban were to leave, I would expect Bama to pursue Dabo Swinney.

He wouldn't be impossible to remove as GM, just impossible to be thrown out on the street unceremoniously.

Seems as possible approach would be to put any ownership stake on a vesting schedule ... say, stick with the team 5 years and meet certain performance objectives, and Peyton receives X% ownership.

That awful 2011 season gave Irsay a launchpad to make significant changes, but I do not agree that Polian was fired simply because he didn't have a good backup QB, no matter how many times he says it. And if that was the case, he could have done something other than draft Andy Dalton; it's not like that was his only option for a backup QB.

The truth is that Polian's roster was in shambles, outside of QB. That was manifest in 2010, when things started falling apart. You put Dalton as a rookie on that roster, and they probably don't win 6 games, IMO. They might not start 0-13, but Irsay probably still has incentive to find a new GM. If Polian had done a better job drafting and building the roster from 2008 on, then you're probably not the worst team in the league in 2011, your roster is good enough to win 6+ games with a backup QB, and then maybe he wouldn't have been fired.

There was also poor cap management, and a reportedly "toxic environment" at the West 56th Street complex bred by Polian tyranny.

Grigson has been a solid cap manager, from which I'm sure Irsay would dislike walking away.

Why is it when anyone in the media has anything other than glowing praise for the Colts it's because they have an ax to grind, loved manning, don't know what they are talking about etc?

I actually think the local writers have pretty good insight into the Colts.  But when national guys and bloggers say the Colts are "spiraling down the drain," it borders on buffoonery.

On today's episode of pardon the interruption, Tony and Mike were talking about how bad Jed York, the owner of San Francisco 49ers has failed and later on in the conversation Tony mentioned how the 49ers are a team that is going down the drain and than mentioned how the Colts are another team that is going down the drain. He did not mention any other teams. I know this has been a hot topic on here but how does Irsay not see how everyone is bad mouthing his team and how changes need to be made. How does he not make any firings when you lose the division to the texans and they have brock and no jj watt. I know this team is rebuilding but Grigson has failed horribly. Pagano has had not much to work with but still his coaching has been poor as well. I'm seriously worried about the future of this team. Grigson will have 60 mil to play with to probably blow away once again and he can not draft a blue chip player if his life depended on it.

Wilbon and Kornheiser have long had an ax to grind with Irsay. So, in other news, water is wet.
