Eleven of twelve...
I'm guessing they were using that twefth ball for kickoffs and field goals? That is all kinds of shady...
Even if it didn't really affect the final outcome of the game, cheating is cheating; and it needs to be punished.
Brad Johnson paid someone to CONDITION the balls. Scuffing them up is perfectly legal.
read the article. he bribed nfl officials to get them to doctor the balls. teams weren't allowed to break them in back then
-
add Brad Johnson to the list of QBs to suspend (with Rodgers and Brady so far).
also, time to strip the Bucs of their Superbowl win
-
no constant and to many variables
exactly my point.
this is what the league did in measuring the balls as part of their investigation. if my suggested experiment has no value because of no variable control, then so does the league's findings.
-
So in games where the Patriots can't cheat by deflating balls( The Super Bowl), Brady's numbers are mediocre. This calls into question everything he's accomplished.
127-197 - 1,277yds - 9td - 2int - 93.8 passer rating
per game - 255.4yds 2td 0.4int
Peyton:
90-132 - 860yds - 3td - 4int - 80.6 passer rating
per game - 215yds 0.75td 1int
whats peyton doing to his balls?
-
I propose a simple experiment for everyone on here.
Take a football and inflate it to 12.5 psi.
Spray it with a hose until soaked
Leave it outside overnight
Bring it inside and let it sit for 2 days
Measure the new psi
-
Reportedly B'more kickers were also concerned about balls.
teams use their own balls. nice try though
-
Yes, 1 hour before game time then they are given back to the team.
We don't know that no one else noticed it. We just know that he did.
2 hours before the game and they aren't given back to the teams until 5min before kickoff
-
Also could lie on the ref for inproper inspection of the balls before the game...but then there is still the fact that the pats brought 11 of 12 balls underinflated to the ref to check.
which is a common practice. there's a post pages back where Aaron Rodgers admits he likes his overinflated and routinely submits balls that are above the upper limit for PSI to the refs
-
Where'd all those pats fans go now???
it is 2am
-
you still need to prove the balls were tampered with before any penalties can be applied.
The chain of command for the balls is:
theyre submitted to officials for approval
the officials hold on to the approved balls until kick off
the balls are given to the ball boy at kickoff and all are held by the ball boy throughout the game
considering how many tv cameras there are theres no where to hide on a sideline. So if the balls were deflated after the fact there must be video evidence. And unless said evidence is found, there's no proof of tampering.
but in reality the hate orgy is in full swing so facts arent allowed...
-
sorry, but these latest findings mean nothing. Of course a ball is going to lose pressure over the course of being used in a game.
on top of that the measurements were done 48 hours after the game. that is well beyond reasonable, especially for something like PSI
-
we get dick lebeau lest play ne way better then most dc's
eh, no.
Brady vs Pittsburgh: 7-2 and averaging 31.4ppg

Without Lynch that offense is nothing. But there are some good RBs in this years draft that will go in the 2nd n 3rd rounds
This.
As great as that secondary is, Lynch is the motor on that train. Not only is he the offense, you start throwing a defense out there constantly after 3 and outs and they'll get exposed.

Patriots fans are actually trying to say that professional football player D'Qwell Jackson doesn't know what a football feels like. Jesus.
Colts fans are acutally trying to say that professional referees dont know what a football feels like. Jesus
-
nope. it'll be the base of one if they keep it up. but you need more than a 2 yr run to hit dynasty status
Green Bay, San Fran, Dallas, New England all had runs of 7+ years and at least 3 titles.
-
if he is still there in Rd1 (and given his injury he could be), you guys should take Todd Gurley. Guy is a monster and would be the perfect back for that offense.
-
also, a HUGE thank you to all of the folks stirring this up in the media. This is a wet dream for Belichick going into the Superbowl. You have all given him the ultimate motivation piece. They are at their best when they believe everyone is against them and they can circle the wagons.
So thank you so much for lighting an even bigger fire under the Patriots' backsides
-
Yeah, pretty much my thoughts as well. The refs did nothing during the game which speaks volumes as well. We shall see ...
yup, but you know the routine. rabble rabble patriots bad rabble rabble
-
Apparently DQ thought the ball felt under inflated when he picked it off.
so its a simple run of the mill thing that happens all the time? Better condemn the Patriots...
Also, dont you think the ref would've noticed if the ball felt different? He only touches and squeezes it every play (double entendre unintended)
-
Read one of my posts above. The refs pulled a ball off of the field right after the pats received a kickoff. I think after a KO, the offense replaces a ball used on KOs with a league ball that's part of a group of balls each club gets to use on offense. I think after the pats got one of their O balls on the field, the refs stopped the clock, and took the ball off the field.
I think that was the play. It was fairly early in the 2nd quarter maybe. Perhaps the Colts complained to the refs in the first quarter, but the refs took matters into their own hands.....if that's the play where they weighed the ball.
the moment youre referencing is a common occurence. the officials forgot to swap out the kicking ball for the regular ball.
-
from the outside looking in, to me its a bit of both.
Physical: o-line and front 7 are small. RB is a glaring hole on O allowing teams to load up on Luck.
Mental: the Colts dont have any nasty and in the playoffs you need that more than anything. The playoffs are about running and physically beating the man in front of you and half of that battle is mental.
The Colts need an injection of that Ravens/Jets/Seahawks mentallity.

Who complained to NFL about this?.
Indy
-
I mean i am not sure which part of Superman's response didn't make sense.
Obviously, NFL is investigating it. Are you suggesting their investigation is wrong to begin with?.
you do realize that the NFL investigates ALL complaints forwarded to them regardless of merit or legitimacy.
-
If it's being investigated it obviously isn't "nothing". Something warranted it.
not necessarily.
The NFL investigates all complaints filed by teams regardless. It may take them 5 minutes to determine its bogus, but they still investigate everything brought to them
Patriots being investigated for Deflating footballs.....(Mega Merge)
