  1. After everything that is going on the last few days, i am very proud to be a Colts fan.

Days like these, we can really put things under perspective.

Great loyal fans, QB and coaches. We conduct ourselves with honesty, integrity and high morals.

    GO COLTS !!

except for that time you got caught pumping in crowd noise

or that time you lost on purpose for the #1 pick

or that time you did it again

or your owner who hasnt found a substance he doesnt like

or your star WR shooting up half of south Philly

or the fact that it was your star quarterback who got the rules changed to allow footballs to be doctored by QBs

  2. to clarify a misconception in here.

The fact that the Colts balls were in the acceptable range at halftime does not rule out the weather factor.  They said the Colts balls were legal at half, NOT that they had lost no air.

If the Colts fill theirs to the top of the range, they could lose air and still be legal.  We know the Patriots fill theirs to the lowest allowed pressure, so losing any air would make them illegal.

We also havent had the 2psi figure confirmed either.

Not claiming it was the weather, just pointing out things that need to be clarified from the league before judgements are made

  3. In the perspectives outside of "PatsNation", that's two major cheating scandals that affected three superbowl victories and now possibly one more...

only because people dont know the rules that were broken in Spygate.

    1. taping opposing coaches was LEGAL

    2. it couldnt be done on the sidelines

    3. the Pats did if from the sideline after the change

Taping signs was not the violation.  The location of the camera was

and let me save you the time "rabble rabble, cheaters, rabble rabble"

  4. I was never one to be terribly outraged by spygate.  But the pattern here is undeniable.  This sort of thing is ruining this sport.

I was talking to my brother over the holiday and he said, he's about reached the point where there is so much crime among players and corruption in organizations that he's about done being a football fan.

I can see a lot of people feeling that way.  I won't watch the superbowl.  My sympathies to the SeaHawks

for what?  You do realize they have tarnished the "integrity" of the game as much as anyone else, right?  They far and away lead the league in performance enhancing drug suspensions.

  5. I obviously don't know, but I have to think that a lot of people are underestimating the amount of pressure that Goodell is under after the mishandling of the Ray Rice incident.  I have to think that the heat is on for him to show that he has control of this league and that he's going to maintain its integrity.

    agreed.

i think this whole investigation of measuring the balls, interviewing staff, etc that the league has done the past few days is a result of them getting egg on their face from Ray Rice.

If not for the Ray Rice incident, this is simply a fine handed down on Monday morning and that'd be the end of it.  They are covering their own tails and making sure there's no way damning evidence comes out after they have already punished the Pats

  6. I agree in part on the word dynasty being overused.  It seems in football it is used to denote the team of the decade.  Ironically enough, the league's 5 dynasties had their best years basically in 10 year spans.

    60s - Packers

    70s - Steelers

    80s - 49ers

    90s - Cowboys

    00s - Patriots

    10s - ???

Most of the 'who is the next dynasty' talk is driven by entertainment outlets like ESPN.  They are constantly annointing things in all sports as "The Next ______".  Whether its LeBron being the next Jordan, Crosby being the next Gretzky, Wilson being the next Brady/Montana.  They live to endlessly hype things

  7. I hope the NFL gets to the bottom of this.. it was 14-7 in the first half, but fortunately the refs identified those defective footballs and got proper ones onto the field for the Pats in the 2nd half and they could start operating their offense like normal, outscoring Indy 28-0.

I really hope they find out what made them so defective, they should check all the cameras to make sure the Colts weren't sabotaging them by letting some air out

Shhhhhh, no facts allowed.  Just pitchforks and torches

  8. well I'm not sure what is going to happen, but if the pats are allowed to play, I am going to boycott the game, hoping that every other integrity loving American that wants the NFL to be held to a level of standards, boycott's the game too, resulting in a significant dip in ratings, resulting in backlash from sponsors & advertising...

So during the game, I'll be at the Red Lobster if anyone changes their mind !!!

bwahahaha, that is rich.  i love the Midwest naviety.  you actually believe any franchise has a shred of integrity?  really?

  9. since you guys are so concerned with the integrity of the game, i can only assume you were all blasting the Colts throughout the Suck For Luck year?  Afterall, tanking is far bigger slap in the face of integrity than doctoring balls.

I also assume the baseball fans amongst you get equally enraged at teams that steal signs and doctor balls, right?

Or any hockey fans in the group must have en eagle eye looking for inconsistencies in a player's stick curve

  10. Not sure if this is brought up in the 33 page thread but in case it isn't here it is....

There is no need to investigate and prove that this was done to punish New England. I'm sure the NFL would love to get to the bottom of it but here's what I'm saying.

The Colts balls have been found to be OK. So that lets weather out of the equation.

The 11 Pat balls all show the same amount of deflation .. 2 lbs.

The above makes it 100% guilty of tampering with the balls. There is no way in heck a jury would deliberate more than 15 minutes on this one.

If already covered ... delete this

no they haven't.  there has been no announcement or credible leak on this yet.  just a passing comment on Mike and Mike
