  1. Im 98% sure collie will suffer another concussion. He can't seem to avoid those vicious hits. I like him, but won't be to dissapointed If we let him go

It's kind of similar to Wayne Chrebet, Everytime he went over the middle you just got this feeling he was taking too much long term-risk just for a 5 yard reception.

  2. Colts fan who was born in the L.A. area, became a Colts fan while living in eastern Iowa, which was in the crossfire of Vikes/Pack/Bear fans, currently live in Oklahoma which sucks if you're an NFL fan because if you mention a team, any team and they just name off local college players and have zero passion for who wins or loses, kinda of like fantasy football guys. I've never been to Indianapolis or Baltimore but, I love the Colts. I think it was triggered by the SB 5 highlights, run on ESPN over and over brainwashing me with the John Facenda narration, the epic music playing, while rick volk picks off craig morton is simply epic!!

  3. Even if we only win 3-5 games, as long as there is improvement late in the season in all facets of the team (including special teams coverage!) sometimes it takes one year of trial and error to get it right.

    Examples:

    New England 1993 new coach,rookie qb 4-12 1994 10-6? playoffs

    Dallas 1989 new coach, new qb 1-15 1990 7-9

    Philadelphia 1999 new coach, rookie qb 5-11 2000 10-6 or 11-5 playoffs

COLTS 1998 new coach, rookie qb 3-13, 1999 13-3 playoffs

but, recently quick turnarounds with first time coach/qb combos are happening!

    Atlanta 2008

    Baltimore 2008

    NY Jets 2009

now, none of those teams made the superbowl but, a couple came very close. If the Colts make the playoffs awesome, If it takes another year then we'll need a little patience in the not for long league.

  4. Its not like the classic uniforms would be permanently gone. I figure they would use them once in a while on a Sunday/Monday night matchup similar to how the Ravens use their all black alternates.

And how original is the All-Black Raven when they play on Sunday Night compared to the Jaguars trot out the All-Black Jaguar look on Sunday night? And before 2010 the Atlanta Falcons would trot out the All-Black Atlanta Falcon look for Sunday Night? The all-Black helmet jersey pants is cool if one team has the look when three have it uhhh. I've seen other teams that wear Blue & White that updated, option 1. Navy & White (see BYU) option 2. Black White & Blue (KC Royals 2003-2006) If that's all the options stick with what you have since everything reverts back to the original look (Giants, Jets) I do like the Colts uniforms around the 84-86 era if they have to spice things up add a little gray or silver and maybe a kicking Colt on the sleeve.

  5. What kind of monster are we talking here...like a snuffleupagus or the "bad gremlins" ?

Gremlins are cute...but then they kick you *!#$**!#* so that's what we need...cuddly friendly appearance up front but then we open a can of mean whoop !*@*!@ on you :)

I can just picture a section of Colt fans with Cookie Monster masks! Cookie Monsters Of The Midwest! Of course If we start eating cookies everytime we have a make a great defensive play, we'll all be as heavy as Bear & Redskin fans

  6. I enjoy the classic colt look, It certainly isn't as boring as Cleveland /Green Bay /Kansas City etc , since they actually have a logo instead of slapping a letter/nothing on the helmet like a college team. on the other hand I also don't want to see corporate sponsors written all over the jersey which might happen in the future. The only switch I would have made would have the NFL jerseys is longer jersey sleeves(yeah, I know how would we see the barbwire tats) that way you could see the stripes go all the way around. All the people calling for a radical new jersey after a couple of losses would demand a return to the classic look that Peyton & Marvin wore.

  7. Patriots are obviously the biggest rival, but who knows now. Manning vs. Brady really seemed to fuel the rivalry. Just wasn't the same in 2008 with Matt Cassel or last year with Dan Orlovsky.

And the hatred continues to grow greater for Jacksonville and Houston. Tennessee isn't too bad.

Also, I'm glad no one mentioned the Ravens. I always laughed at people calling 'Colts vs. Ravens' a rivalry. After we won 7 or 8 games straight against them (two in the playoffs), it was just their silly / stupid grudge.

I disagree no matter how many times we beat them they still hated us, most of the other teams don't pay attention to us and I don't see other teams wanting us to fail like Baltimore does. most of the Patriots rivalvy was started with Peyton vs. Brady/Bellichick and that is now moved to Denver /NE. To hate a team you just can't hate a current coach, QB or star, you have to hate whoever the coach or QB or star is.

  8. There is the Colts and then there is 31 other teams who I think are bottom of the barrel pond scum. Why do you think that Jaguar tongue is teal/green instead of red? I can't wait for the Colts to start to pound the ball and play smash mouth shoulder poppin seek & destroy Colt football! mostly the teams I can't stand are the teams that have an overload of fans more obnoxious than me. (Packers,Cowboys,Steelers, etc) lol

  9. I remember January 8th, 2011 as depressing, Peyton's last game & his reaction, Caldwell's timeout, Pierre's drops and not watching another football game until the following season since the Colts were out. but, putting things in perspective one other thing..."On January 8, 2011, Giffords was shot in the head[3] outside a Safeway grocery store in Casas Adobes, Arizona, a suburban area northwest of Tucson, during her first "Congress on Your Corner" gathering of the year. A man ran up to the crowd and began firing,[41] hitting 19 people[42] of whom six died;[43] a 20th person was injured at the scene."

I remember hearing about this on a special report right before the game started and it just subdued me and I enjoyed the escapism of football from a crazy world.

  10. Again, all respect to our coaches, particularly Dungy. This is a personal preference. As a man, I loved Dungy and Caldwell. You can't hate on anyone deep in moral character and won't sell that out for anything. I just like a more emotional leader wearing a head set. I also think Dungy and particularly Caldwell, got outcoached many times during critical game moments. Whether it was *ic challenges or calling timeouts, which Dungy did at Tennessee that cost us the game by Bironas hitting a stupid 60 yard fg or the infamous one made by Caldwell against the JETS.

UGH...I keep trying to mind wipe that playoff game out of my mind.

  11. 6. I'm not sure about the emotion thing, I mean Tony Dungy, Tom Landry, George Siefert,& Tom Flores were not exciting guys on the sidelines, all won superbowls.not everyone can be as emotional as Scott Linehan. Now if the players are as emotional (team leaders) as an emotional coach then yes !

  12. Thank You Very Much From The Bottom Of My Heart, I Truly Have Enjoyed Being Your Cornerback" I sure have loved playing football for the Indianapolis Colts," he said. "I've been a Colt my entire adult life ... but we know nothing lasts forever."

    -Jacob Lacey (forever a Colt)

Disclaimer:the following is not factual, and are quotes attributed to Peyton Manning, taken out of context for Jacob Lacey, and is to waste time until April 3rd when the complaints over the Nike uniforms starts.

  13. Laughing at yourself is one thing, but laughing at others is very different. If the thread were started by someone who was having a tough time dealing with the loss of Peyton and took offense to the "is Denver your 2nd favorite team now" thread, then posting this thread could very well be a sign that that person is moving on and laughing at his or herself. On the other hand, if the thread were started by someone who was all for moving on from Peyton and posted this as a jab at those who are still coming to terms with Peyton playing for another team then the whole point of the thread becomes something very different.

Good point, no malice intended. I wanted 5 more years of Manning! but, obviously it's not my decision. I was just trying to let go and move on. Since I don't live near Indiana I will probably get to see the Colts maybe twice? next season while Manning and the Broncos will be on probably every week on a CBS lategame or nightgame. personally I'm not going to watch a majority of the Bronco games because it will be a little too much like the Colts in new unis (horse-family). hey if he gets them to the superbowl great! but, I'm still not buying Bronco merchandise.

  14. I think switching teams is a kneejerk reaction to a change you don't like I'm guilty of this way back in 1999 when Marshall Faulk was sent off in his prime for a draft pick I started rooting for the Rams also. I really wasn't a Ram fan over the long haul, I haven't even watched a Ram game since 2008. If a Colt fan said they are now a bronco fan how will they look back to those playoff matchups in 2003-2004? what happens when talking to a long time Bronco fan, "those losses didn't bother me. you see, I didn't become a Bronco fan until 2012" they will be exiled from the Bronco Nation inner circle. So it's just better to stay with your team and say I liked them during this era but, switching teams is hard to do in the long run. NBA bandwagon jumping is much more common so common you rarely meet NBA fans of a certain team. How many people stayed Wizard fans after Michael Jordan retired the third time?

  15. A parody of the "Are The Broncos Your Second Team Now?"

We have had so much turnover with the Gm/Coaching Staff/Players & now fans so let's see how many other players will take fans away or divide Colts Nation. I could have picked Garcon,Saturday, etc but,no I picked Lacey.
